Ohhhhh, people have been wondering what will be happening. Now let's find out what happens. Sorry for this being a short chapter but I can't add on when everything has been said.
Chapter 21: Trust?
Blu's recovery from his injury sustained from the Eagle which had ventured south from normal Eagle territory had healed quickly despite the severity of the wound. Blu was grateful to the bird who saved him: Jollo. The same bird who had tried to kill him over a year ago, it was peculiar thing that Jollo had changed. It was a week since Blu and Jollo's encounter with the Eagle.
Everyone had been amazed and grateful to Jollo's actions. Even Jewel who had despised her brother ever since trying to kill Blu now felt forgiving and grateful towards the darkened coloured bird. Jollo was being accepted back a little due to his heroic actions but not too much as some suspicions were still present.
A bit of a distance away in a more quiet part of the jungle and further away from the city of Rio. It was quiet except for two birds who were conversing. One bird said "Great, now that the plan is coming together nicely. We can finally do something". The second bird stood with the first bird spoke "I know, a few years ago, I was pushed out before we even came to this area close to the stinking city".
The First bird spoke again "You go to the club often". The Second bird shook itself "Maybe but I can make those birds pay and I can finally claim my prize. It would be great". The first bird spoke "Yeah and I have had enough of them pushing me out and away. Now it is my turn to push them around. The boys have been getting in my way. A mistake of my making and now I plan to correct that mistake".
The second macaw was a little surprised but said "That is a little rough don't you think". The first macaw shook his body too "I couldn't care less anymore to be honest. I am past caring about anyone else now except for one bird". The second bird made a nod towards this "Yeah, this world is messed up and those birds treat everyone else like trash and think they are better than everyone else. But I swear, it is time to show them they are not as great as they think".
The First bird made an evil smile towards this "Definitely, I haven't stayed long and I am already mad with them. At least our friend will be doing the work until they arrive. Then we can finally get some pay back, I wanted to try to be happy with them but they turned their back on me so I turn my back on them and the species. I don't care anymore". The second bird smiled "Yeah, I believe we won't have to wait too long now at least until the time comes". The two birds nodded to each other and sat waiting ready to go as if they are waiting for something to happen.
At Blu and Jewel's hollow. The pair had decided to give Jollo a chance at redemption for his heroic actions last week in saving Blu. Blu was currently practising once more with Selene to get her wing working. She was going with calm flapping on her dad's back to start her up. Jewel was sat with Selvey in front of her while Jollo was observing.
He was curious to this and asked Jewel "So Selene is the youngest and you only had her recently". Jewel nodded to her brother "Yes, she is only 6 months old now". Jollo looked a little serious towards this "And she is not able to fly due to some form of disability that does not allow her wing to maintain its form during flight. Jewel looked down towards this comment "Unfortunately she hasn't been able to fly yet. But she has been improving greatly, I think she is getting close. But is still not ready yet".
Jollo looked towards the chick who was flapping her wings at a faster rate now. "It is very saddening. A young one like that having to be put through such conditions at such a young age". Jewel made a smile towards this saying "But thanks to Blu she has been improving greatly. I think he has been a great influence in her confidence".
Jollo narrowed his eyes towards Blu thinking "I can't argue that Blu has done well as a father…Pity". Jollo looked back up to see Blu encouraging Selene who was slowing down now to try to rest the wing slowly so not to stop too quickly. Eventually though they both came to a stop and Selene looked up to her dad after she moved herself back onto the branch and folding her wing into let it rest "Did I do well Dad".
Blu smiled towards his daughter saying "Yes you did Selene, I believe you are nearly ready now". Selene made a smile towards this "I hope so because I want to fly now". Blu gave her a pat on her back saying "You will soon Selene, you have made excellent progress and I believe it is nearly time to try again with the Art of flying exam". Selene smiled happily to this and jumped on Blu's back before he flew them down to the group and the kids immediately got talking got Selene while Blu stood beside Jewel.
She then asked "So how did it go". Blu gave an optimistic smile towards her saying "I think it went rather well. We are close I believe." Blu looked to Jollo who looked like he was deep in thought "So Jollo…erm…what are you planning to do now". Jollo looked away for a few moments before he gave Blu an answer "I don't know".
Jollo quickly clicked two feathers on his wingtip as if he was clicking fingers and said "Oh yeah I remember something now. I wanted to show mom and Dad something I found during my travels and gave them a description of the place and where it is located. I want to meet them for it and I am wondering if you want to come along". Jewel then asked Jollo "Is it far away".
Jollo made a smile and shook his head "No, not too far away, it just requires us to go east a little away from the city. It is a fascinating area. Mom and Dad claim they know the area and know about it and will meet us there". Jewel looked to Blu who smiled "I don't see why not if Azura and Jonas will meet us there".
Jewel tilted her head in thoughts for a moment, she had a strange feeling about this but did not see any reason not to as it was only midday. However the weather wasn't perfect as clouds were overhead but it wasn't thick or any indication of a storm or bad weather so there was no harm "Okay…I guess so. It would be a chance for the kids to get out I guess".
Jewel then turned towards the kids and said to them "Okay kids gather up". Azul, Selvey, Roxo and Selene all ran over and stood in front of their parents "It seems your uncle Jollo has invited your granddad and grandma out to the east and we are going with him to meet them. Okay, and have a nice day out. Any objections".
The kids all excitedly shook their head and Jewel smirked towards Blu "Easily excited aren't they?" Blu nodded quickly in agreement saying "Quite, alright you lot, let's get going". Selene once again made her way onto Blu's back and held on tight as Jollo spread his wings and took off first. One by one everyone else took flight into the air and begun to follow behind the darkened coloured Macaw. As they began their journey the kids were curious. They were at first wondering about Jollo and the fact they had never saw or met him until now. They also wondered about his unusual colouring now then other macaws. They pressed questions towards their mother and father but for an odd reason they had refused to answer them regarding this inquiry.
They knew that Jollo was involved in some kind of incident a long time ago but no one wold give them answers towards this. Jewel was still unsure about Jollo to some extent. She felt a small degree of concern towards herself and her family but she did not know why she had these feelings though. They were confusing her greatly but weirdly Blu had no such feelings as they pressed on.
Blu was flying besides Jollo with Selene on his back while Jewel flew close with Azul, Selvey and Roxo. They were all however happy to be going to meet up with some of their family and to see what was so special about the piece of land they were being taken to by Jollo. They were curious though as to what was so special about it though.
As they flew on Blu got curious and asked "So Jollo exactly what is this place we are going to and what is special about it". Jollo made a smile back to him saying "It is a great place. I found it during my travels. It overlooks a cliff where some of the best views can be seen and it is a very healthy place food and water wise".
Blu was now very curious. By the way Jollo was describing it, it sounded like some kind of paradise. They didn't have to wait too long after as a while later they eventually came up to the location with Jollo speaking "We are here, mom and dad should be here waiting". They flew down and Blu sighted an edge over a cliff nearby where an endless abyss was seen. Where the ground was far down but the views were indeed amazing.
They all landed down with Jollo landing looking away from them. Blu and Jewel landed not far behind him and the kids landed behind them as Blu let Selene off his back. They all looked around while Jollo remained looking forward away from them. Jewel confused by this said "Mom and Dad aren't here". Jollo nodded with a smile "It appears so, Confusing".
Blu then asked Jollo out of curiosity "Jollo, are you sure you told Azura and Jonas to meet us here". Jollo made a grin and said while looking away "That depends on how you look at it". Everyone was immediately confused by this and Jewel said "What are you talking about Jollo". Jollo smiled to himself and said "They aren't coming Jewel". Jewel narrowed her eyes a little to this "Why did you say they were then". Jollo then turned his head a little saying "Because I have a…surprise for you".
Blu and Jewel were both confused by Jollo's change in behaviour "Jollo…what's going on". Jollo made a snicker and looked away "I guess it is time for your surprise". Before anything could be said both Blu and Jewel were grabbed from behind and their wings were pinned behind their back and they couldn't move. They struggled as they knew birds had caught them.
The kids were all looking on horrified towards what was going on and Blu said "What is…" He looked towards Jewel to see the bird who was holding Jewel and had her pinned "Rawk…What are you doing". The bird was indeed Rawk as he had Jewel pinned saying "Hello son… Sorry it came to this but I have lost my patience with you all". Blu was confused and looked behind enough to see the Bird who had him pinned it was someone he didn't get along with "Dez…why are you here". The Lear macaw was indeed Dez who laughed "Sorry Blu, but I am afraid you blue birds are getting yours".
Jewel tried to get loose but shouted "Let go of me…you beast…or I will claw you to pieces and you unhand him now Dez". Rawk made a chuckle as Jewel was still pinned "OH…hohoho, this one is a little feisty". Blu looked to Jollo who was still looking away "Jollo help us". Jollo now fully turned around and was glaring "And why would I want to do that…you filthy PET".
Jewel and Blu had their eyes opened in realisation to the situation "This was all a setup". Jollo nodded to him and took a step forward "You are right there Blu, this was a setup". Jewel then glared evilly to him "You are dead Jollo. I knew you couldn't be trusted but I thought to give you a chance".
Jollo brushed her off saying "I could never forget the day you banished me all for the sake of this filthy animal. And now I have more scars to my eyes and feathers because of you all. I did try to find my place in the world but I could never forget your betrayal. So here I am. Ready to set things right". Jewel glared while Blu asked "But why Jollo…why just come back to kill me. It makes no sense".
Jollo shook his head to this "I am not here just to get rid of you. I am here to destroy the corruption of the Pets which you have corrupted Jewel, my family and all of our species". Jewel was confused to this "What are you talking about". Jollo narrowed his red eyes to this "You allowed a pet into your lives. A disease which means you are infected by his curse and for that you must be destroyed".
Jewel and Blu were shocked and looked to the kids who were scared "You're not going to hurt the kids". Jollo simply said "Unfortunately they will not be spared, they carry the genes of a pet and are being raised by one so the curse lives in them to. I tried to save you all long ago but I failed so you are all past curing". Jewel was shocked by this and shouted "YOU ARE A MONSTER. YOU'RE INSANE".
Jollo made a smirk "I don't care what you think. I underestimated Blu's conviction last time when he managed to get you all to help him. So I realised I needed help to win this time and here they are". Dez then spoke "Me and Jollo were always friends in the past so I see no reason not to help him and I am sick of all you Blue birds. Thinking you are all better. But except for Pearl".
Jewel glared to this while Blu looked to Rawk "Why Rawk…Why turn against us like this. I thought you cared for our race". Rawk made a nod "I do…But you are all pathetic now. I am past caring about any of you. I wanted to return to come back into the family and make a great future but none of you do except for your mother".
Jollo smiled while Blu was shocked as Jollo said "See, they don't care. They may not have the same reasons as me but we will all work towards the goals we desire. Mine is the eradication of the Disease of Pet's like you Blu. This scar on my face always reminded me of what I must do to save the Jungle". Blu was annoyed to this and said "But why save me from the Eagle, you could easily have killed me there".
Jollo made a smile to this saying "If I had killed you there, everyone would have suspected it was me, and then it would have been impossible for me to get rid of everyone else as my plan would be exposed. So by earning everyone's trust I was able to lure you here out of range of anyone helping where this time, no one will interfere". Blu was shocked at this revelation saying "You are made Jollo".
Jollo shook his head "I don't care what you think now. This time I will not fail". Jollo took a step forward and saw the kids. "First the kids. They must not escape. Get them Dez". Dez looked to the kids and smiled "With pleasure". Dez then flew Blu onto the floor and Jollo grabbed him and pinned him "First you will watch your children…future pets perish". Jewel and Blu looked shocked "Kids Run now".
