Chapter 21

When everyone was washed and dressed the group decided that they would head into Westerville for breakfast rather than going to the cafeteria. The group divided into separate cars, New Directions mixing in with Warblers. The teenagers decided on going in to a cute little diner, filling most of the tables, and with permission moving some of them together.

Kurt and Blaine sat together at one of the sets of tables that had been grouped together, sitting with Finn, Rachel, Jeff, Nick, Puck, Lauren, Sam, Mercedes, Wes and David. Artie, Santana, Brittany, and Quinn sat at another set of tables that had been grouped together, with the single Dalton boys. Mike and Tina sat alone at a table for two, as did Thad and Trent. The waitresses approached each of the tables, starting to take their orders.

"Hey sugars, what can a get ya all?" a waitress asked with a southern drawl, as she arrived at Kurt and Blaine's set of tables,

"I'll have a black coffee, and blueberry pancakes please ma'am?" Wes replied,

"I'll have the same with a cappuccino please?" David added,

"We'll have blueberry muffins and vanilla milkshakes please?" Sam ordered for himself and Mercedes, receiving a kiss on the cheek for the gesture,

"Could I have a soy milk latte and vegan pancakes, with the fresh fruit salad please?" Rachel ordered,

"I'll have the chocolate chip pancakes, with chocolate sauce, a breakfast burrito and a strawberry milkshake" Finn ordered,

"I'll have the same" Puck told her with a wink, earning him a slap to the arm from Lauren, who also asked for the same but with a chocolate milkshake rather than strawberry,

"I'll have the waffles with cream, Belgian chocolate sauce and golden syrup, with an orange juice and my boyfriend will have the same" Jeff answered for both himself and Nick.

The waitress finished writing their orders then turned to Kurt and Blaine, who were busy looking at each other while having a whispered conversation… not really paying attention to their surroundings,

"Can I take your orders ma darlin's?" she asked the two boys, causing them to jump,

"Oh um, can I get a stack of blueberry pancakes with fresh fruit salad and yoghurt, and a banana milkshake with two straws, we're sharing" Blaine answered with a smile his eyes barely leaving his boyfriend.

"Awww… aint you guys so cute?" the waitress told them kindly, before writing down the order and walking away.

While Blaine and Kurt hadn't been paying attention to anyone around them, they had been whispering about the Trad situation… they had both noticed that the two boys had chosen to sit alone together at a table for two, they had arrived together and it had been just the two of them in Thad's car… when their waitress had taken their orders and left, Nick turned to them and discreetly indicated to Trent and Thad, the two boys nodded at him in acknowledgement, that they had seen them as well.

It wasn't long before the waitress was back with their drinks and then their orders,

"Here you go boys and girls, if you need anything, just holler… my name's Candy… enjoy your food ma darlin's" she told them before walking away.

The nine boys and three girls at their tables cheerfully ate their meal and interacting between bites, Nick, Jeff, Kurt and Blaine discreetly keeping an eye on Trent and Thad, when not part of the conversation or eating their food. Blaine and Kurt were feeding each other bites of pancake, fruit and yogurt, between taking bites of their own, when they had finished their shared breakfast, Blaine grabbed the milkshake putting one straw to his angel's lips, while he took the other between his own, as they shared the drink.

When they had finished at their table they all took their wallets out, putting the money for their meals in the middle of the table. Blaine batted Kurt's hand and wallet away, when he tried to pay for his share of the drink and meal they had shared, insisting he ordered it, so he would pay for it. David and Wes put their money in the middle of the table along with Blaine's, while Finn, Puck and Sam gallantly paid for the meals eaten by themselves and their girlfriends, and Nick insisted on paying for him and Jeff. When all the money was collected in the middle of the table, David called out to their waitress…

"Candy?!" she came straight over,

"Hey there, ma darlin's is there anything else I can get you?"

"No thank you we would like to pay the check please" David answered,

"Oh well, honey there's no need… your checks already been covered" she told them,

"I hope you don't mind my asking… but who was it covered by?" Blaine asked her,

"Oh um, it was one of your friends actually… see the two boys sat at the table for two over there, the two that are talking and blushin' like crazy? It was the shorter one of the two, he covered your whole group of friends on his credit card" she told him indicating at Thad and Trent's table,

"Those two are almost as cute as you two cuties, sugar… I saw you feeding each other and sharing your milkshake, it was the cutest thing ever… I hope I can find a guy to do that with one day, you guys are keepers… hold on to each other and never let go" she told Blaine and Kurt, before winking and walking away.

Nick took the money they had collected together, over to Thad, returning a few moments later with the money still in hand,

"He wouldn't take it, he said it was on him… because he's having such a wonderful time" he informed the table,

"Well we can at least leave Candy a nice tip, since she has been so lovely" Kurt replied, and the others agreed.

They divided the money back to its rightful owners, before organising their individual tips. Each of the occupants at the table including the girls, Kurt and Jeff… who hadn't been allowed to chip in to pay for the food… put $20 in the middle of the table, they all felt she deserved it, as she hadn't judgemental with them, especially with Kurt, Blaine, Nick and Jeff who were obviously gay couples, she hadn't had a problem with them, and didn't treat them any differently to how she had treat everyone else.

They called her over then as she started to clear the table and found her tip from them, they turned and walked away leaving the diner, as she called out to them… they just waved over their shoulders and shouted various thanks and farewells,

"Thanks Candy!"

"You were great!"

"Bye Candy!"

"See you soon!"

Everyone met up outside, at the various cars they had arrived in, then started off back to Dalton.
