The Elite Four Part IV

The team walked through the corridors to face the final member of the Elite Four. From what they knew so far this would be the most difficult battle they would be in yet as Helen healed up the Pokémon.

"This is it," Brock said, "The Last Member of the Elite Four."

"And from what I remember this door leads to Lance's room," Drake said, "He leads the Elite Four and is a Dragon Pokémon Master."

"Then let's get him and wrap this up!" said Red.

"This will not be easy," Lucy warned, "Dragon Type Pokémon are only vulnerable to Dragon Type and Ice Type Moves."

Red checked his team.

"Reina has Glaceon so she can make mincemeat out of Lance's team," Helen said. "But Rita and Red will have a tougher time."

"Pika!"

"Actually the fight will be more even than you think Helen," Marble said, "Red and Rita taught their Pokémon some surprise attacks to overcome any type disadvantage."

"Pika."

Soon the group entered the door and there stood Lance.

"So you made it this far." he said.

"Yes we have Lance," Rita said, "And we'll defeat you."

"And we don't expect this to be an easy battle," Reina said.

"Do you think they can do this?" Sara asked after Bruno autographed her book.

"They can if they remember everything they learned," Rose said after Agatha autographed her book.

"Pika."

"Let's do this Lance," Reina said as she and Rita stepped up.

"Dragonair Aerodactyl I choose you," Lance said sending the two Pokémon in question out to battle.

"ROAR!"

"Glaceon Go," Reina said sending out Glaceon.

"GLA!"

"Charizard I choose you," Rita said sending out Charizard.

"ROAR!"

"Dragonair Iron Tail," Lance said, "Aerodactyl use Rock Slide on Charizard."

"ROAR!"

"Charizard dodge and counter with Brick Break," Rita ordered.

"Glaceon use Blizzard," Reina said.

"ROAR!"

"GLA!"

Charizard dodged and countered with a powerful Brick Break that did massive damage to Aerodactyl which in turn was weakened enough for Glaceon to finish off with a Blizzard which also did a number on Lance's Dragonair but it was still standing.

Rose fainted.

"Dragonair use Rock Slide," Lance said.

"ROAR!"

"Dodge it," Reina and Rita said to Glaceon and Charizard respectively who in turn dodged it.

"Now counter attack with Ice Beam," Reina called as Glaceon's Ice Beam hit the mark.

"Charizard end this with Dragon Claw," Rita said.

"ROAR!"

Charizard gave it all he had and knocked Dragonair out with his best Dragon Claw attack.

"ROAR!"

"You have done well to get this far and defeat me," Lance said as he recalled Dragonair. "You two are on your way to becoming Pokémon Masters."

Both girls bowed.

"Red it is time to face me," Lance said as Red stepped forward.

"Let's do it!" said Red.

"Gyarados I choose you," Lance said sending out his Gyarados.

"ROAR!"

"Pikachu I choose you," Red said sending out Pikachu.

"PIKA!"

"Gyarados use Earthquake," Lance said.

"ROAR!"

"Pikachu jump and use Thunder," Red said as Pikachu jumped and used Thunder on Gyarados.

The cheerleaders were hyper.

"Gyarados use Dragon Dance," Lance said, "Try to shake Pikachu off."

"ROAR!"

"Pikachu use another Thunder attack," Red said.

"PIKA-CHUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

The attack did its job and Gyarados was knocked out for the count.

"YAY!"

"Gyarados return," Lance said recalling Gyarados, "You did well out there and so did you Red but let us see how you handle this. Go Dragonair."

"DRAGON!"

"Pikachu return," Red said, "Squirtle I choose you."

"SQUIRTLE!"

"Dragonair use Twister," Lance said.

"Squirtle use Ice Beam," Red ordered.

"DRAGON!"

Dragonair used a twister attack but Squirtle dodged and countered with a powerful Ice Beam attack that hit a weak spot.

"Dragonair battle back with Thunderbolt," Lance said.

"DRAGON!"

Dragonair fired back with a Thunderbolt that hit Squirtle as Squirtle withdrew into its shell for protection but Squirtle was still standing.

"Squirtle use Ice Beam," Red said.

"SQUIRTLE!"

Squirtle fired a powerful Ice Beam that had Dragonair on its last legs.

"Now finish this off with Skull Bash," Red said.

"SQUIRTLE!"

Squirtle hit Dragonair with a powerful Skull Bash that knocked it out.

"Pika!"

"So far you've beaten two of my Pokémon but let us see how well you fair against this," Lance said, "My strongest Pokémon. Dragonite Go."

"ROAR!"

"Squirtle Ice Beam Attack," Red said.

"SQUIRTLE"

Squirtle launched an Ice Beam attack.

"Dragonite dodge," Lance said as Dragonite dodged the attack with lightning speed, "Now use Thunderpunch."

"ROAR!"

"Squirtle dodge it," Red said as Squirtle dodged Dragonite's Thunderpunch before firing an Ice Beam to damage Dragonite.

"ROAR!"

"Dragonite end this with Thunderbolt," Lance said.

"ROAR!

Dragonite struck hard with a Thunderbolt that knocked Squirtle out.

"ACK!"

"Charizard I choose you," Red said sending out his Charizard.

"ROAR!"

"Charizard Flamethrower," Red said.

"ROAR!"

"Dragonite Water Gun," Lance said as Dragonite Countered with a Water Gun attack that hit Charizard dead on.

"Charizard time to fly," Red said as Charizard took flight.

"Dragonite after it," Lance said.

"ROAR!"

"Charizard try a Dragon Pulse," Red called as Charizard hit Dragonite with a Dragon Pulse attack while dodging Dragonite's Water Gun attacks.

Rose fainted.

"Okay we really need to wake Rose up," June said as Charizard avoided the Water Gun attacks while firing Dragon Pulse attacks at Dragonite.

"Pika."

"Charizard finish this with Dragon Claw," Red said.

"ROAR!"

Charizard gave everything it had to finish Dragonite off with a Dragon Claw attack knocking it out.

"YAY!"

"Dragonite return," Lance said recalling Dragonite, "I'm very proud of you."

"We did it Charizard we won," Red spoke as he and Charizard cheered.

"You have done well to defeat me you three," Lance said to Red, Reina, and Rita.

"Thank you." said the Trio.

"Now step through the door and you'll be entered into the Hall of Fame," Lance said.

"Right!"

The trio went to do just that as they were entered into the hall of fame and with the Pokémon that helped them get this far.

"Wow!" said Red.

"This is it," Reina said, "We've come a long way to get here."

"Very long." said Rita.

"And now we're here at last," Red said, "Let's go home."

"Pika pika."

The trio then left the hall of fame and rejoined the group before leaving for Pallet Town.
