It should have been easy for Weiss to do, all she had to originally do was go in, tell Ruby the truth about her and Penny, and then move on from there. What she hadn't planned on happening was having it happen the way it did. She knew that she would have to say something eventually, but she had hoped it would be under her own power, not like the way it was going now.

Weiss took a deep breath as the elevator door opened up and she walked over to her apartment. Once she opened the door to her room, there was one thing immediately that caused her to question whether she could do this right now or not. The one thing that Weiss had forgotten about when she first saw Ruby not five minutes prior.

Ruby was still high.

As soon as she saw Ruby laying on the floor making snow angels out of nothing, Weiss knew that she couldn't say anything to her about it. Somethings had more of a priority than others, and at the moment, Weiss taking care of her baked girlfriend was at the top of the list. "What am I gonna do with you?" Weiss said to herself as she pressed her hand against her forehead and let her head shake back and forth.

Weiss looked outside the window and noticed that the sun had just finished setting. She was starting to feel tired and felt like the last 20 minutes had drained her of all energy. Knowing Ruby, the red ball of energy would probably use up whatever energy she had left until she was running on fumes. Still, she had to admit that she did feel like she was in love with Ruby, so she did what she felt was right. "Ruby, you should go take a nap, clear your mind and whatnot." Weiss said, hoping that it would help her out in some way.

"But moving sucks." Ruby said, pouting to Weiss. "I want to watch a movie with you." Weiss was surprised that Ruby had the energy that she still had, despite being high. As she looked at Ruby, the red haired girl in front of her spoke up yet again. "The carpet is rolling out from underneath me right now, and my feet are like snakes right now."

Unable to even comprehend what Ruby had just stated, Weiss walked into the kitchen to heat herself a nice hot cup of tea. With what she was gonna go through tonight, she was going to need all the energy she could get. Once Weiss was finished making her tea, she took a seat on the couch with Ruby as the redhead turned on the tv and booted up Netflix. Ruby quickly looked up a really obscure movie called Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil, and the two of them watched it together.

Somehow, Ruby managed to sit through the whole movie without driving Weiss insane, however Weiss wasn't as fortunate. She felt the movie was really weird and didn't know why she was watching it in the first place. Then again, once she saw Ruby, she realized immediately just why she was doing this. Why do I put up with you again? Oh wait, because you're cute and adorable when you act like yourself. Weiss reminded herself while she went through the movie.

Once the movie was over, Weiss looked at the time, and it was getting pretty late. She turned to say something to Ruby, only to see her dead asleep on the couch. Internally, Weiss sighed as she realized that she had to carry Ruby down to her bed so that the poor girl could sleep. She grabbed Ruby's arm, and with all of her strength, and determination, she lifted Ruby onto her shoulders and walked her down the steps and into her room. When she made it over to her bed, she gently laid Ruby down and pulled the covers over her so that the girl could sleep comfortably. "Night Ruby." Weiss said softly as she returned upstairs to clean up the mess that had been made during the movie.

Her body was starting to run out of energy and she knew that she herself was going to crash soon. Once she got upstairs however, her phone went off and she figured that it would be an important call for her to take. She looked down at her phone and noticed who the caller was, immediately dreading the conversation that would come. With much disdain, she answered the phone and did her best to sound less displeased than she actually was. "Hello?"

"Weiss, I hope I'm not calling at a bad time." The voice on the other end said to her.

"Well I was getting ready to go to bed, so I would ask that you please be quick at the moment." Weiss responded back to the person.

"Oh I know just how important it is for you to get your sleep Weiss."

"Of course you do, what with you being my sister and all." Weiss said back.

"Well then I'll make this quick." Weiss' sister Winter stated. "I'm meeting with some business associates of Father and since I'll be in the area, I figured that I should take some time to visit with you. It has been a while since I've seen you, so I hope you have no plans going on tomorrow." Winter stated.

Weiss was not looking forward to that visit, and she could feel the migraine forming in her head at that very moment. "Yes it has certainly been a while. What time should I expect you at?" Weiss asked, hoping she could come up with some excuse to not have to follow through with it.

"I'll be done with my meetings at 3 so I should be able to meet you at your apartment by around 3:30." Winter stated. "I trust you will find something for the two of us to do while I'm there with you."

Weiss didn't want to, but unfortunately for her, she didn't necessarily have a choice in the matter. "Of course, I'll be sure to look into the matter and I will have something for us by the time you arrive." Weiss stated.

"Excellent. I'll be sure to phone you when I've arrived." Winter stated. "You have a good evening now Weiss."

"Of course Winter, and same to you." Weiss stated, and she hung up the phone. "Goddammit." Weiss said to herself once she placed her phone back down on the kitchen counter. "Of all the times for this to happen, why did it have to be now?" Weiss asked. She knew that sleep wasn't as much of an option anymore, her new priority was making sure that her apartment was presentable for her surprise guest tomorrow. She remembered Ruby being in her bed, and she realized that she would have to get her out of the apartment early on.

After spending nearly two hours cleaning up her apartment, she sat down on the couch and started to drift off. Soon afterwards, she passed out on the couch, still in the clothes that she had worn all day beforehand.

When Ruby woke up, she felt a little light headed, and she realized that the bed she was in was a lot softer and more comfortable than what she was used to. She rubbed her eyes and looked around at her environment. She realized exactly where she was, and immediately began to question everything. "Why am I in Weiss' bedroom?" She said to herself. Looking to the other side of the bed, she noticed that it was neat and untouched, which confused her even more.

Getting out of the bed, she slowly walked her way up to the living room. Once she got up there, she was greeted with a really unexpected sight. There was Weiss, sleeping, probably uncomfortably, on her couch. Ruby walked over to her and nudged her, trying to wake her up. "Hey Weiss? Weiss wake up." Ruby said as she gently shook Weiss. After putting a bit more force into it, she finally got Weiss to wake up with a start.

"Huh, what?" She sat up with a start. Rubbing her eyes, she looked up to see Ruby standing over her. "Oh, hey Ruby." She stood up and stretched. "Gaagh, what time is it?" She asked.

Ruby walked over to Weiss' phone and looked at the time. "It's 9:30 right now." Ruby said to Weiss, bringing her phone over to her.

Weiss took the phone from Ruby, and then tried to move her neck, but she realized that she was beyond stiff. "I'm going to take a shower, when I get out, you and I need to have a talk." Weiss stated to Ruby as she walked over to her room. "In the mean time, look up directions to a restaurant, I'm taking you out to breakfast when I get out." Weiss shouted as she walked down the stairs.

Ruby sat down and waited, doing what Weiss had asked her to do. What Weiss wanted to talk about with Ruby, she didn't know, but clearly it was something important if Weiss was this adamant about it. After about a half hour of waiting, with her having found a nearby restaurant to get breakfast at easily, Ruby noticed that Weiss looked refreshed and much more awake than she was before. "Did you find a place to get breakfast?" Weiss had asked.

"Yeah, I found one not too far away actually." Ruby said as she showed Weiss' her phone with a map of the route plugged into the gps. "It looks like it has gotten some good reviews too." Ruby said, though she wasn't expecting a response from Weiss regarding that.

"Sounds good." Weiss said as the two of them walked into the elevator down to the garage where Weiss had parked her cars. Once they got into the garage, Weiss led Ruby to one of the newer cars that she had acquired, a refurbished Declasse Tornado, painted white of course, and the two of them got in. Weiss pulled the car out of the garage and said that they were going to stop at Ruby's place so that Ruby can get some clean clothes on, and unstink herself from the smell of weed.

After Ruby was cleaned up, Weiss drove the two of them over to the restaurant and they went inside. Up until that point, Ruby and Weiss hadn't said anything serious to each other, the two of them electing to make small talk the entire way over. After the two of them made their order, Weiss knew that she had to talk about something important. "Ruby...there's something I need to tell you." Weiss said after the waitress left to put in their order.

"Is everything ok Weiss? Did I mess up with something?" Ruby asked, worried that Weiss was going to break up with her.

"No no, it's nothing like that, it's more or less something that I need you to know about. What you choose to do with it is up to you." Weiss said as she took a sip of her coffee. "I just need to tell you about it."

"Does this have anything to do with Penny? Because ever since she came into the picture, you've been acting really strangely, especially around her." Ruby mentioned, not realizing how accurate her statement was.

"Well, that will make this next part more understandable I guess." Weiss said, pausing so that she could think of what she wanted to say to her girlfriend. "Back before Penny was thrown into jail, the two of us were...together..." Weiss said, looking directly at Ruby so she could gauge her reaction.

"Wait, together? You two were..." It suddenly dawned on Ruby what Weiss had meant by that. When that happened, her jaw dropped and her eyes grew as wide as donuts. "Oooh, I didn't expect that."

Weiss didn't really say anything, instead just electing to let her head hang down, worried that Ruby would think badly of her. "You ok Weiss?" Ruby asked.

Weiss looked up, surprised that Ruby wasn't judging her over it. "I just figured that you would be a bit, how should I say...turned off...towards me after knowing this." Weiss said.

Ruby just shrugged. "I'd like to know what happened exactly, if you're comfortable with telling me of course."

Weiss nodded, then sighed as she began to recall what exactly had happened between her and Penny. "Back before Penny was arrested, things between us weren't going well. We were getting into fights pretty often, and I felt like we were just losing touch with each other. We had spent a decent amount of time together, and so I was concerned over that, but the fighting between us made things difficult to deal with." Weiss stated.

"After a few weeks of fighting, Penny brings up the arms deal meet that she said that we should go to. Turns out when I went to the meeting, it was a trick and our rivals used the deal as an opportunity to try and take me out. Fortunately for them I managed to escape, but the whole ordeal really drove a wedge between me and Penny." She took another sip of her coffee before she continued. "Knowing what I know now, it wasn't her fault for what happened, but at the time I was furious at what had happened, and so me and her had gotten into a huge fight and she stormed off in a fury. Turns out she had an affair with someone after that and at that point, the two of us were officially split up."

"Damn, that's some heavy shit." Ruby stated to Weiss.

"You aren't kidding about that." Weiss nodded in agreement with her. She was about to continue but their waitress brought out their food for them, and so Ruby and Weiss waited a few moments before Weiss continued. "What happened soon after we split, was something that I never truly have forgiven myself for. She got arrested because I was careless and I had made a mistake. I told her that I was going to get her out of prison, and now that I have I feel good about that, but I guess things are still a bit awkward between the two of us." Weiss stated.

Ruby nodded, listening carefully to what Weiss had just said to her. Eventually she spoke up. "Have you ever thought about talking to her about what had happened?" Ruby asked.

Weiss nodded as she took a bite of her omelet. "I have, it's just a matter of working up the courage to speak up to her. We both have been avoiding each other ever since she came back to us."

"Well you need to talk to her at some point so that the two of you can clear the air. If nothing it gets you closure." Ruby stated in between bites of her pancakes. "If you don't then you're both just gonna cause more trouble and things aren't going to go well for all of us." Ruby stated to Weiss.

"Well, I will have to wait until tomorrow, because I have business to attend to later today, but I will definitely do that." Weiss said, thankful that Ruby was understanding of her situation. "Thank you for listening Ruby, I'll be honest, it wasn't easy to say, especially to you."

"Hey, I do good at listening." Ruby stated, feeling proud of herself. Suddenly a thought crossed her mind that she wanted to know about. "So since you and Penny were together...did you two ever..." She didn't get to finish her question before Weiss cut her off.

"If you're thinking about sex then yes that did happen. It's just a part of life that I would do something like that so if you got a problem with that, then I don't know what to tell you." Weiss said, a bit agitated at the question presented to her.

"Wow, sorry, didn't realize I would strike a nerve with that." Ruby stated. "And I never said I had a problem with it, I'd be a hypocrite if I did."

Weiss nodded in agreement. "Well then, that'll make that go smoothly whenever that happens." Weiss said.

Eventually Ruby decided to change the subject. "So what's this business you gotta do today?" Ruby asked.

Weiss didn't really want to answer, being that she still wasn't looking forward to it in the first place, but hiding it wasn't gonna do her any good either. "My older sister is stopping by at about 3:30 today, and I need to take care of that. I sent a message to Pyrrha and Ren that they were in charge for the time being until she left because if my sister knew what I was really doing out here, let's just say that things wouldn't go well for me."

"Jeez, sounds like you're really excited for that." Ruby's voice oozing sarcasm.

"Oh yeah, tell me about it." Weiss said back, dishing out even more sarcasm than Ruby did. "I just have to do 'legitimate' business today. Though this may mean that I won't be in contact with you for a while when she is around."

Ruby and Weiss finished up their meal and paid the bill. Once they finished up, the two of them got back into Weiss' car and Weiss drove her girlfriend back over to her place. Once they got there, Ruby kissed her girlfriend goodbye, and she wished her luck. "Don't be afraid to call me if you need anything. I could pretend to be your assistant." Ruby stated.

"Oh Ruby, you're too pretty to be my assistant." Weiss said, complimenting Ruby in a really weird way. "But I appreciate the sentiment. I'll be sure to call you once my sister leaves." Weiss said, and she took off towards home. She felt good about how things went, but now that it was over and done with, she still had a long day ahead of her.

AN: So I know that it's been a bit since I last updated, but I got back to school recently and I needed to make sure I got properly settled in with that before doing anything with writing. However I finally got the chance to write something I had planned out in my head for quite a while, with a bit of an extra thing that I was going to add in at some point because it's a good idea (that being involving Winter). Fortunately I finally got this done, and now I can go forward with the story.

Btw you guys are all awesome. You wanna know why? 250 follows on this story. I couldn't be any more proud of how this story is going, and I can't wait to get working on the next part of it.

Anyway, I'm only doing one story recommendation this chapter, but it's a good one. The story recommendation of the chapter is, Raspberry White Mocha by Fraustbane. Give his/her story a read, it's a really neat story and I think you guys would enjoy this one.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed the chapter, and as always thanks for reading.
