Sam speeds into the HQ as he hears Oliver say. "The bank manager Ace punched, his ring left a mark."
"Hey, you're here early. I figured you'd be sleeping in with your girl." Diggle asks as he sees Sam walking in the next morning.
"Felicity's in a mood."
"Finally understanding you're keeping things from her?" Diggle asks.
"She already knows I'm keeping things. Now she just made the fact I'm lying to her ten times harder."
"She broke up with you?" Oliver asks, sounding surprised.
"Worst."
"How can there be something worst?" Diggle asks, causing Sam to give Diggle a look. "Oh... She put sex on hold?"
"Shut up." Sam says before looking over Oliver's shoulder. "You were saying?"
"Larchmont High." Oliver tells them.
"High School." Sam reads, causing Diggle to chuckle.
"I cross-referenced his height and relative age with a list of students and alumni."
"Still, that's a pretty long list." Diggle says.
"It was, I dug a little deeper and found Kyle Reston." Oliver says. "Right before Kyle's senior year, not only did he drop out, he dropped off the grid. Along with his family. Father, mother, younger brother." Oliver pulls up a photo.
"There are two other guys involved in this robbery." Diggle says.
"And I remember seeing a woman in the video." Sam says. "Photographic memory." He says as a side note when he sees Diggle's surprise. "Pull up the camera feed of all the banks."
"Sam's right. Aside from Stan Washington, there were twenty-two customers and employees that came out of the bank, nine men, thirteen women. Inside the bank-"
"Nine men, fourteen women." Sam says.
"They put a ringer in." Diggle says.
"The mom." Sam nods.
"The police are looking for a crew, we're gonna look for a family. Speaking of which, Sam, we're incredibly late for ours. Is Felicity coming?"
"It's kind of late and if I put this on her last minute she'll be even worst. It's better if we just go alone."
"Mom won't be happy."
"Felicity is working."
"Better excuse." Oliver says as Sam speeds them out.
They arrive at the home and Oliver quickly change in better clothes, while Sam stayed in his favorite pair of dark jeans and leather jacket. "And where's Oliver and Samuel? They're not out town too, are they?"
"Well, I'm sure they're just-"
"Stuck in traffic." Oliver says as he walks in with Sam.
"And it's Sam, not Samuel." Sam corrects. "Samuel sounds too dry for my taste."
"One of the things I didn't miss on the island, Sunday drivers." Oliver says as he and Sam stand between Thea and Moira.
"No Felicity?" Moira asks.
"Yeah, she had to some work today, so it's just me." Sam smiles at his mom.
"Sorry, we're late." Oliver says as he kisses Moira's cheek as Sam hugs Thea.
"Thank god you're both here." Thea whispers to Sam.
"It is so good to see you both." Janice Bowen says as she hugs Oliver then Sam. "We all thought you were-"
"Oh, well, we are just happy they're both home." Moira cuts in as Sam has to bite his tongue to keep from saying anything.
"Hmm, and returning celebrities too." Carter says as he shakes Oliver's hand and goes to shake Sam's, but Sam doesn't touch Carter.
"Enochlophobia, so I'd appreciate you out of my personal bubble please." Sam smiles.
"How do you mean, celebrities?" Oliver asks.
"Billionaire scions castaway for five years." Carter says as they walk towards the table to sit for brunch. "You know, there is a bidding war for the rights to you guy's life stories. At least that's what my agent says."
"Agent? I thought you were a neurosurgeon, Carter." Oliver says.
"I know. It's crazy, right?" Sam smiles as he grabs his knife, but Oliver catches his hand and gives him a look. "One minute I'm publishing this book," Sam lets the knife go and settles for bouncing his leg. He can't stand to sit here and listen to Carter. It physically pains him. "On how long-term potentiation initiates the creation of a slow moving protein synthesis," Sam pulls his phone out and starts texting, while Carter talks.
To Felicity
In hell. You are working on Sunday and I'm having a family brunch with the most condescending man on the planet.
From Sam
"And the next there's an agent trying to make me the next Dr. Oz." Carter says as Sam fights the urge to walk out of the room.
From Felicity
Poor baby. I'll make it up to you when I get out of work.
To Sammy
Sam is able to smile at Carter as he sees the message. "Why would he want you to be a wizard?" Oliver asks.
"Yeah, this isn't the Land of Oz." Sam says as he quickly texts Felicity back.
From Sam
Sex?
To Felicity
Her response is immediate, causing Sam to fight back the urge to laugh. "Oliver, Sam." Moira laughs.
From Felicity
I'm getting back to work now.
To Sammy
"For all our sakes start reading US Weekly." Thea tells them.
"Well, the truth is, I just feel it's our duty as Starling City's more fortunate to help those most in need."
"Oh of course." Moira says.
"Wouldn't you agree, Oliver, Sam?" Sam shift in his seat feeling uncomfortable.
"Well, speaking of a person who had been on the other side," Sam starts. "I'd say it's extremely important, but this world has many selfish people, so I can't say everyone would follow that example."
"You're the hero." Oliver tells Carter.
"So now that you're back, what are your plans?" Janice asks. "Will you be taking a job with Queen Consolidated?"
"I'm opening a night club." Oliver says.
"Mom," They both look at Sam. "I totally forget to take my pills this morning and you know I get kind of sick without them. Can I be excused? I should really take those."
"Oh, of course, Sam, but you should know that you have to take those."
"I stayed at Felicity's last night and forgot to grab them."
"Well, you should go take them."
"I'll be right back. Oliver, do you know where my pills would be. I have a very bad memory about things, so Oliver keeps track of my pills for me."
"Uh, yeah, I'll go show you. With his ADHD he tends to zone out when other's are talking." Oliver says as he leads Sam out. "What's going on?"
"The first bank of Starling was hit two minutes ago. Diggle just said something." I tell him as we walk out to see Diggle waiting.
"We can't just leave."
"Leave it to me." Sam says as he heads back into the room. "Hey, mom."
"Found your medicine?" She asks.
"I think I left them at the office when I went there the other day..." Sam says with a nervous look.
"You don't have them here?"
"No, I really do need my medicine. So, I hate to leave in the middle of brunch, but Oliver's going to take me to get my medicine."
"Why does-"
"Oliver knows what they look like. Like I said, I have a bad memory. I think it's from my old parents." Sam looks at Moira and he knows that last line was a bit low, but he also knows she'll give in.
"Okay, I don't want you to go without your medicine."
"We'll be back once we get them." Sam promises before heading out of the room. "Alright, you were saying."
"We think they went underground and the first bank fo Starling is above the water treatment tunnels. The entrance is located here." Diggle says as he hands the device to Oliver.
"I told Moira we need to get my meds from the company."
"You take medicine?" Diggle asks.
"Of course not. Medicine burns out of me before it can even take affect. She just thinks I'm on ADHD medicine, anxiety medicine, and medicine for my memory."
"Memory?"
"I use these as exuces, my dad's idea. He didn't think people should know about my powers. The memory thing is an excuse for me to 'forget' certain things, helps me get away with things, but the medicine to prevent that makes me very sick if I miss a pill."
"You... are way too good of a liar." Diggle says.
"I've been lying since I was eleven what do you expect?" Sam asks. "Come on, Oliver." Sam says as he zooms them off. They arrive in the tunnels as police have opened fire on the bank robbers. Oliver fires an arrow, causing the money bag to go flying.
Sam speeds over to the robber who's firing and rips the gun out of his hands before he can blink. The guy starts running towards his family.
"Our cash!"
"Forget it!"
"Let's go! Let's go!"
"Move!" The police yell.
"It's the vigilantes!" Another police officer shouts as Sam speeds them out.
