Authors Note: you know the drill it's part 21, last time we left on a cliff hanger and to keep my promise last chapter I'm to mention the exact same guest I quoted before, yup their back, again. Back just like some more Greek letters in this chapter. As per usual I don't own Resident Evil, it's characters, its story arc or it's profits, which is a real shame
Leon shook Ada's shoulders gently, calling to her calmly while he fumbled for her arm. He pressed his fingers against her wrist, a faint pulse beat against his two fingers.
How long has it been since Zeya? Could she have run out of time already? Could I be too late? He shook the thought from his head, she won't be waking up any time soon, I need to find somewhere she'll be safe.
Leon put his hand on Ada's back and an arm under her legs and lifted her up. He took one glance back at the door where they had left the agents, looked at Ada's sleeping figure then started to wander the corridors in front of him.
There had been beds on the higher levels in Zeya so Leon decided there should be no reason for there not to be beds in the lower levels, he only had to find them. As he moved to turn down the first corridor to his right Leon was more careful than he may have been had he not been carrying Ada's defenceless form. He hovered at the corners, glancing for danger before moving. The short corridor ended in a dead end with only two doors branching off, one on each wall. He peered in each window before laying Ada's feet on the floor, her full weight (which wasn't much) propped up against him while he drew his weapon and opened the doors. Each room was an office with papers littering desks and what looked like order forms for various countries buying bio-organic weapons. In one of use rooms he found an ID card sitting on the top of a filing cabinet which he tucked into the back pocket of his jeans. He counted one corridor down and eight left as he moved to the next part of the maze he was desperately trying to navigate.
A map sure would be helpful. Leon thought to himself blandly as he checked the rooms in the new hallway.
Down the fifth corridor he checked he found a small worn piece of parchment stuck to the wall beside a sign which read PSI BLOCK. The parchment was luckily written in English; A reminder to all new staff that ID cards are required to gain access to temporary living quarters located in PSI BLOCK.
Leon fished the card he had found earlier out of his back pocket and scanned the card on the reader to the right of the door. As the door beeped, giving him access, Ada mumbled something into Leon's shoulder as her hand which had been resting on his arm tightened it's grip on his jacket. He looked down at her. She looked small and frail in his arms, mainly due to the considerable size difference between the two of them, her pale skin and red flushed cheeks adding to the frail sickly look. He stood and looked at her for a minute, trying to tell if she was awake but after a while he decided she was still passed out, her legs were still buckled beneath her and the fact that Leon was gripping her tightly against himself was the only reason she was still upright.
Leon opened the door to Psi Block cautiously, unsure of how many people they would come across, he kept his gun pointed infront of him at all times.
Psi block was similar to the maze of corridors he had just left with small hallways branching off in different directions leading to rooms where the researchers of Neo-Umbrella slept. Before turning each corner Leon listened pressed against the wall for any sign of danger. A few turns in he was forced to dash into a corner when he heard two researchers talking in Italian. He glanced desperately around him. He really was in a corner, a door behind him and one infront. And the researchers were still coming. He turned to the door behind him and quickly skimmed the notice on the door, DOCTOR FENWICK TEMPORARILY TRANSFERRED TO THETA LAB, ENTRY PROHIBITED UNTIL HIS RETURN IN SEPTEMBER.
Leon dashed in the door, it was his only chance, and it was somewhere Ada would be safe. The room was a blinding white compared to the metal halls and floors they had been walking through to get there. At the back of the room was a bed. Leon holstered his gun and lifted Ada's legs again so that she was fully supported in his arms. She mumbled something once again and dug her nails into the leather of Leon's jacket again. He looked at her a moment longer than he felt he should have. Her cheeks were still red but in the time they had been wandering her temperature had dropped and now instead of being at the feverish height it had been before. Leon finally put her down after looking at her for a few moments longer though he had to prize his coat out of her hand as he laid her on the bed.
I need to find a cure of some sort, anything. And I need to do it now.
Leon absent minded lay ran a hand through his hair before taking his coat off and laying it on top of Ada in a vain attempt to raise her temperature before he left the room in search of the cure to the C2X gas which had poisoned Ada back in Zeya 36 hours ago.
Hope you all liked this chapter, please leave a review if you did and come back next chapter (which I predict will be a long one) see ya then!
