Catarina went into a trance, seeing the world zip by her like a telescope; everything shrinking to show her far away with her sightless, coal-black eyes. She saw a young, middle aged man stomping with soundless steps, that had taken years to master so perfectly that a deer wouldn't be startled. The man was tan, so tan that his skin looked nearly brown. His hair was a light blond with blotches of brown randomly there, as if a young child threw mud at him and it splattered onto his hair. Suddenly, the tall, buff blond turned around, looking at me with madly insane, hungry eyes.
"I know you are watching me," his voiced drawled out in a hoarse, sensuous tone, "and I know you hear me. I found you my evasive princess. And I am coming. I'll get you. I'll drink your sweet nectar dry and I'll make your smooth horn my personal trophy. Your bones will become my ambrosia and I will relish in the satisfaction when I finally blot out your sickening species. Say bye, bye, my pretty pony. I'm coming." A sickening, smile spread past white teeth spotted with nauseating brown discolorations.
Everything zoomed out quickly, so fast that Catarina was pushed back against her chair. Her lids covered her black eyes, she was struggling to gain the breath she lost and was hyperventilating.
"Mama?" The little pixie put his hands on her face pulling it up a little, rubbing her cheeks. Ventus, woken up by the backlash of Catarina, had fallen off of her comfy lap. "Geez Rina," he rubbed the back of his head and looked at her with annoyed eyes. He saw her condition and scrambled to get to his knees. He put a hand on her knee and the other hand on her cheek, over Aodh's hand, "Catarina? What's wrong?"
Catarina was shaking like a leaf under their hands and failed to speak at all. Ventus, uncharacteristically serious for once, stood up tall. If Grell wasn't concerned at the moment for the unicorn girl her would have fangirled(boyed?) at the scene the wind spirit was at this given moment of time. He picked up the unicorn and sat down on the soft, emerald green grass. He placed her sideways in his lap, making a seat of himself for the beautiful woman. He gently pushed her now crying face in the crook of his smooth neck.
Catarina moved her hands to grasp the spirit's tan overcoat. She cried her icy-cold tears, snowy blue in color. She went from crying to sobbing to bawling her eyes out. She eventually calmed down to silently crying and hiccupping. Aodh, who sat a foot or two away from his parents watching silently and scared, stumbled to his feet and ran over to his mama. He threw his arms around her neck and stood on his tippy toes rubbing his face into her back. Catarina stiffened but relaxed instantly when she realized it was only Aodh. She slowly took her head from Ventus, reaching her arm behind her to quickly snatch Aodh's arm and pull him to her lap wrapping one arm around the little pixie, the other gripping the wind spirit tightly, the death grip noticeable. She placed her head in the young child's platinum, blond hair, the tip of her head against the warm chest of the male spirit.
The others watched the scene with various expressions. The sole demon looked on with slight concern seen in his eyes, a possessive jealousy evident in his eyes. A slight glare sent to the spirit but also a small sliver of gratefulness since he wouldn't have known how to deal with the bawling girl. Dead set on the fact that the second she was calm enough he would rip her from the grasp of the spirit. The lone human boy didn't bother to hide his concern, to great in amount to ever be able to hide it. He could only hope that his older sister was okay. The reapers were a different story. Grell was obviously freaking out, pulling at his crimson locks. William was leaning back with shock, unsure of what to do. He had some concern in his eyes, jealousy floating in their depths as well.
It was a good half an hour before the brunette girl calmed down enough and when she was calm enough they all knew. "I have to leave!" She bolted up quickly, accidently hitting Ventus . . . where it really hurts. She was a split second from leaving behind everything when the demon grabbed her arm. He knew his master wouldn't want her to leave. And, he had already planned to rip her from the wind spirit's arms. "Let me go! Let me go!" She was shaking her head crazily, her hair flying everywhere. She had yet to open her eyes. "Catarina!" She froze hearing the little earl's voice.
He walked confidently up to her and craned his neck to look into her eyes, only to see her lids and snowy blue tear stains. "Look at me." She shook her head no. "Please." He whispered so lowly even Sebastian strained to hear it.
Catarina's eyes shot open like the sudden firing of a gun. Her eyes terrified and stunned with the power and intense emotion displayed fearfully by them. A wickedly poisonous purple took the place of white, a dingy, dull, lifeless yellow took the place of the rest of the eye. A black snake swirled through the entity of the eye. Fear, hopelessness, terror, death, horror were yelling out through those petrifying mirrors of the soul. Screaming along for help but that request was trampled over by the more powerful emotions.
The others came over to look while Sebastian smoothly craned her head up to see for himself what shocked his master into a stupor. His crimson eyes widened and his mouth slightly slack. A similar reaction came from each being. Sebastian loosely yet possessively wrapped an arm around the woman's waist, making it obvious to a certain reaper.
Aodh hugged her leg and cried when he saw for himself his afraid mother. The innocent, mischievous being never saw his dearest mama in such a state prior to this.
Hearing the soft sobs of the pixie, the purple of Catarina's eyes tinged pink. She crouched down and pulled her sun into her arms and held him gently. She sat down on her rump and pulled him into her lap, rocking back and forth, back and forth, softly singing a familiar song. 'Baby mine don't you cry . . .'
She softly sang to the little boy, calming him down, all the while, making him fall asleep. She sighed, exhausted, before looking up with one light, sky blue eye and one dark, navy blue eye. "He is here." All the men took a deep intake of breath. "What?" William breathed out, second guessing his hearing.
"The murderer. The killer of my family. The man hunting me down. He found me. He is coming to get me. I overstayed my welcome here. I put you all in danger now. I'm so, so sorry!" A few icy-cold, ice-blue tears slipped out of her eyes. "I have to go, now!"
OoOoO
Annnnnndddddd~ I leaving you off here! I know, I know cruel of me. It was going to be longer but it was too perfect to not stop here.
Okay book two will be published soon. I am going to try to publish an additional 'chapter' to say that book two chapter one is published.
The series will be called, The Tale of a Soulful Broken Woman.
I might change it . . . I don't really like it. What do you all think? What do you think book two will be called?
I do not own Baby Mine.
I do not own Black Butler.
I only own Catarina, Aodh, and Ventus.
Who should Catarina be with?
What will book two be called?
Scene requests?
Should I give Catarina, Aodh, and Ventus a family/group name?
(Like I did with the nitwit trio.)
Fruity-chan out peace!
