AN: Alright, so another really short chapter for you guys. I don't really like this one very much, but I wanted to get it done because I'm getting to some of the really good episodes and I'm really excited. Maybe I'll have more up tomorrow (we'll see how my day goes).

This is just a little snippet of the end precinct scene, hope you all like it.

Thanks to everyone who's followed/favorited/reviewed, you always make me smile.

"One of them has fifteen years of baggage, marriage, divorce; the other's on a first date. How long do you think that'll last?" Ryan posed the question they were all thinking as Jeremy Preswick walked out of the bullpen.

"Hopefully for a long time." Kate said without thinking. Usually she didn't talk like this, but Jeremy's story made her smile, and fine, maybe go a bit gooey inside.

"Why Detective Beckett, I had no idea you were a romantic." Castle stated, and she couldn't decide if he was needling her or if he was genuinely surprised. Based on his face and tone though, she was leaning toward the latter. Nevertheless, she responded with a quip.

"Well, I also sleep with a gun Bet you didn't know that either." Let him chew on that, Kate thought, refusing to look away as he smiled back at her.

"How about you Castle? How long do you think it'll last?" Kate's interest piqued. After the discussion they'd had the day before about needing to know why, she knew how invested in Jeremy he was, or at least in his story. He was always going on about the story; she wondered what his take would be on this one.

"Well I guess it's just the writer in me, but I'm hoping for a happy ending." He said the last part directly to her, and she had to look away. She really didn't want to analyze what that meant, so she just accepted the statement at face value.

She smiled at the empty hallway where Jeremy and his ex-wife had been moments before, practically willing this second chance they'd been given to pay off.

Kate had seen far too many relationships and families crash and burn within the confines of this precinct. She was glad to see that maybe, just this once, a happy ending could be found there.
