Wow. Two chapters in two days? I'm on a roll, guys!
Linh's jaw dropped. "What? I thought—" another contraction cut her off.
Physic's eyes widened and she looked at the equally confused Linh. She glanced at her stomach, which was deflated, but not as deflated as it should have been. "Did you know that you were expecting twins?" she asked her.
Linh's eyes —which were filling with tears of pain— widened. "Twins?" She got out.
Physic sighed. "Guess that's a no."
A few minutes later, a baby girl was born.
Physic handed her to Linh. The new parents' eyes shone with happiness.
"Daddy?" The boy cooed, just as the girl said, "Mommy?"
They both giggled, making Linh and Wylie's faces shine with bright smiles.
"What do you want to name him?" Linh asked, still beaming.
"Kiran," Wylie smiled, looking at Linh. "Do you like it?"
She nodded. "Leila," she said, naming the girl.
Leila had Linh's face shape, and her chocolate-colored skin and dark tufts of hair made her silvery-blue eyes stand out.
Kiran was almost her exact opposite. His face shape was all Wylie, and his pale skin and bright blue eyes were as startling as his sister's.
Physic nodded to them and left the room to get Tam.
As they entered the room again, Tam gasped. "Twins?" he asked, his eyes wider than she'd ever seen them.
She nodded, beaming.
Suddenly, Tiergan burst into the room. "I have the— oh."
Linh laughed, tilting her head back and letting out an exhausted sigh.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
Linh shrugged as well as she could with Leila in her arms. "I lived."
Tiergan looked very worried. "I'm so sorry—"
"I was kidding, Tiergan," Linh laughed. "I'm fine, now."
He let out a breath, then noticed the other child in wriggling in Wylie's arms. His eyes grew wide. "Twins?"
Linh nodded.
"What are their names?" Tam asked.
"Leila and Kiran," Linh said, leaning her head on Wylie's shoulder.
Kiran suddenly shouted, "Milk!" and reached for Linh, his tiny hands flailing as he couldn't reach her. She blushed, unsure of how to move without flashing everyone, and wondering by what miracle the blanket was somehow still covering her.
"We should let them be for a while," Physic said, reminding everyone that she was still there.
Tam and Tiergan quickly wished the new parents well before they left, closing the door behind them.
"Milk!" Kiran complained, wondering why his wishes for a full belly were not being fulfilled.
"My, my, Kiran," Linh laughed, looking at Wylie. "Needy, much?" she joked.
"Just like you." Wylie winked mockingly.
She sent him a playful glare as they traded children, Leila now snug in her father's arms, Kiran in his mother's.
The first sleep with their children was a relief to both parents, exhausted from being awoken at 2 am. Mercifully, it was a long one.
I finally got to reveal my plot twist! Yay! The 'needy child' part was specifically for you, bella ;). And , I would TOTALLY have named him Larry if it didn't mean 'flower crown'. ;) I love you all, and the next chapter will (hopefully) come soon! Bye!
