A/N: As promised, here is part 21 of the Kanto Harem Chronicles. Had to look up How Fergus fought in Ash's Quest on YouTube seeing as I have yet to return to that point on my physical copy of the ROM hack I bought on Etsy. As always, Satoshi Tajiri owns Pokémon and is the real life Ash Ketchum
It was the morning after his double 4-way and Ash's body was kind of aching from all the action it received. Serena didn't fare much better as she went immediately to the bathroom and started puking. The other 5 ladies of his group went ahead and returned themselves to their PokéBalls. "Serena," Ash said with a concerned voice. "Are you gonna be ready to go here in a bit? I want to make sure all of you will be ready for our battle against Fergus."
"Yeah, just let me get dressed," The PikaGirl said as she hung her head over the toilet. Ash nodded and grabbed her usual outfit for her. She put it on and they walked to the registration booth to get ready for the last 5 battles that were scheduled for him. Luckily for Ash, even if he lost he could just rematch the final five people again at any time.
"Nurse Joy, I wanna run a checkup on all my Pokémon before my first battle against Fergus."
"Very well Ash," said the pink-haired woman as she took Ash's PokéBalls and prepped a stretcher for Serena. It seemed to take longer than it normally did. Ash started to worry if all their sexual activity was starting to hurt them and he started feeling a ping of guilt in his stomach. The light above the checkup room turned off and Ash was relieved to see Serena coming up to him with a spring in her step and a huge smile on her face. She giggled and hugged him as Nurse Joy came in with a shocked look. "Well Mr. Ketchum, everyone else is fine but your Pikachu might want to start taking it easy in 3 months."
"What do you-?" Ash started to ask but then realized what she meant. "You mean she's pregnant?"
"Yes she is. She seemed overjoyed to find this information out too."
"She did kinda ask me to do so last night."
"Ash, thank you so much baby," Serena whispered as she cried quietly in joy.
"How much will this affect how she battles?"
"After 3 months, she needs to be benched so she doesn't harm the hatchling," Nurse Joy replied.
"So, she's having an egg or live birth?"
"We've never dealt with this type of situation so it's still too early to tell."
"I'm just so happy right now Ash," Serena said as she snuggled into Ash's chest.
"Do Pokémon act like this when they're expectant mothers?" Ash asked.
"Well, given how my own mother acted around my father before my sister was born," Nurse Joy said. "I'd say it's more of a woman deal, whether it's a Pokémon or Human."
"Okay thanks." Nurse Joy nodded as she left Ash and Serena to themselves. "You gonna be able to battle for 3 months. You wanna take a 9-month hiatus after this is over?"
"Are you sure you want to do that Ash?" Serena asked. "I don't want to be a burden and slow the team down."
"For the next part of our journey, we'll start fresh. As in you will be the only Pokémon accompanying me to it."
"Why is that?"
"Because it will feel like we'll be beginning again."
"Oh okay."
Just then, the PA chimed in and there was a huge announcement. "Will Ash Ketchum please proceed back to the Ice Battlefield for his battle with Fergus?"
"Looks like it's time Serena," Ash said as they walked together to the Ice Battlefield. The crowd was cheering his name as he entered. In the stands he could see Professor Oak and his mother in the stands. For being an anthro Miltank, Ash still couldn't help but think this new form of his mother was just as beautiful as she was as a normal human.
"Time to show them what we got Ash," Serena said with that usual battle glint in her eyes. Ash knew she was all fired up.
"Okay Trainers, this will be a 5-5 match between Fergus and Ash," said the referee as he approached the battlefield. "Fergus will send his Pokémon first. The battle will go on until one side is out of usable Pokémon. Furthermore, substitutions will only be allowed upon a KO. Are you ready Fergus?"
"Ready to ride the waves to victory with my Water Pokémon," said the trainer who looked like he was dressed to swim in the cold water.
"Then please send out your first Pokémon."
"Gyarados, time for battle!" Fergus threw his PokéBall into the air and out popped a standard Gyarados. This one had white whiskers showing it was a female one however.
"Serena, let's go!"Ash shouted. Serena jumped onto the battlefield and shivered due to Intimidate but didn't let it bother her that much. She was mostly a special attacker anyway. "Use Thunderbolt for a one-hit kill!" Serena did as she was told and unleashed Thunderbolt. It had knocked out Gyarados but Ash could see small signs of fatigue already in Serena's body language. "I have to be careful about pushing her too hard, otherwise she'll collapse in exhaustion due to her being pregnant."
"Gyarados is unable to battle," the referee announced. "Pikachu wins." Serena jumped into Ash's arms and kissed him deeply. Ash kissed back as Fergus returned his Gyarados. Fergus's next Pokémon was Nidoqueen so Ash had Serena sit on the bench as he brought out Dawn. The Blastoise girl readied her hydro cannons as she was sent out. Nidoqueen roared as she used Earthquake on her but Dawn stood her ground and fired a Hydro Pump at Nidoqueen, knocking her out cold too. Fergus sighed as he returned her to her PokéBall and sent out Tentacruel next. Ash decided on Clair next since he knew Gardenia would only do neutral damage to the Jellyfish Pokémon. Clair was ordered to use Dragon Rush, which hit with perfect timing, nearly knocking out the Pokémon. Tentacruel tried using Toxic but it was reflected with Ice Beam. Clair then flew in the air and attacked by dive-bombing at it. Tentacruel fainted after that hit and Fergus was quick to send out Golduck. Ash was smart to send out Gardenia this time. Serena looked like she could still collapse even as she sat on the bench. He decided now was the time to Mega Evolve and end this quickly. Ash ordered for the usual combo of Gardenia's Leech Seed and Solar Beam. Once Fergus caught onto it, he tried calling out to Golduck to use Calm Mind. It boosted the Special Attack and Special Defense of his Golduck but it was already too late. Gardenia had fired her Solar Beam and it knocked out Golduck. Fergus sighed as he sent out his Vaporeon and Ash was about to use the same strategy until Serena stepped in.
"Ash, I want to finish this with you," She said as she came up to him.
"You looked worn out after a single Thunderbolt," Ash said to her "Are you sure you wanna take that risk?"
"Yes, I want to end this myself." Ash nodded as he returned Gardenia and handed Serena his hat. His Electrium Z once again took the form of the Pikashunium Z and Serena put Ash's hat on her head.
"Okay my beautiful Pikachu. We'll finish this together." Ash and Serena stroke their usual poses for the newest Z-Move and Serena was soon filled with their combined might. Serena unleashed 10,000,000 Volt Thunderbolt. It instantly knocked out Vaporeon and Ash made sure to check Serena. She stood there breathing heavily like she normally did after a Z-Move. The referee called it a win for Ash and Serena fell to her knees. Ash ran to her side and helped her into the Pokémon Center for some post battle healing. "Who's my next opponent Nurse Joy?"
"Your next opponent is Corey but you don't face him for two days. It'll give Serena plenty of time to recuperate and prepare."
Ash nodded as he and Serena returned to their cabin. He immediately looked up Corey's Roster. "It consists of a Scyther, Pidgeot, Sandslash, Venusaur and Hitmonlee."
"Will it be two battles for me again?" Serena asked as she laid on the bed and drunk some lemonade.
"No. If we're lucky, you might not have to battle at all. Clair and Dawn can cover for Pidgeot."
"But Ash…"
"No buts young lady. You're carrying our child. If anything happened to you while you were battling and you ended up benched for life, I could never forgive myself."
"Ash, the reason I want to battle is to prove I can be just as strong in battle while I'm pregnant."
"Honey I know but this is a new field neither of us are familiar with seeing as you've never been pregnant before. I worry about you. Look at today's match. You nearly fainted after using one Thunderbolt."
"Then I have to rebuild my physical endurance. Having a Pichu growing inside me has its drawbacks since they are known to shock themselves when using any Electric-Type moves."
Ash sighed in defeat, knowing that this was one battle he could never win. "Just don't push yourself too hard Serena. I don't want you leaving me so soon after becoming pregnant."
"You worry too much."
"Only because I love you."
"I know." Serena kissed Ash as she pulled him into bed to sleep the worries off their mind.
