It was no secret that the Srines were the strongest Wind Magic family alive. It was also no secret that Marie Srine was a traitor to the Magic Users.
~Kale Srine~
"These beasts are a nuisance."
Said Marie standing by the window. Our home wasn't as large as the Elder's castle, though it was magnificent as any. The view from Marie's window was a section of the river the humans knew as the Mississippi, but we knew as Hale Valley. The surrounding wall that kept humans from our world made it so our home fit perfectly here. I smiled at my wife's eternal disliking of the dragons and wolves that started to grow in number.
"And yet you side with the strongest of them."
I said smiling. A war was coming and most of us sided with Simon Lucas, a Spell Magic warlock. However, we stood with a dragon named Gabriel Blood.
"Only for this cause. Simon believes he can wipe them out or even keep them from fighting as one, I may not like those mongrels but they're strong and have a great will. And because of that I will do my part to aid them."
I smiled again when she turned to look at me. She wore a long red and white formal dress. It flowed around her body with laces tying the front together in an elegant fashion. The neckline wasn't to removed, but showed enough of the neck to expose some of her lightly tanned skin and the Celtic Cross with roses that hung around her neck. My family crest she wore proudly. The sleeves hung down past her wrists and flared out in a bell-like way. They hid her hands from view until she placed them on my shoulders and made the sleeves fall back a bit. Her long black hair fell in waves down her back, covering the crisscrossing ribbon that tied the back of her favorite dress. She smiled up at me with her blue and scarlet speckled eyes. Being 5'10, she was still shorter than I and was two years older as well. We were technically in our hundreds but to humans we'd be 30 and 32.
"We will do our part."
She corrected. And just before I could kiss her there was a knock at the door.
"What?"
I sighed, making Marie laugh. A panicked looking maid ran through the door and bowed just before us.
"What is it Rain?"
Marie asked worriedly. Rain was a young sorcerous who was receiving lessons fro Marie in exchange for help around the mansion.
"There's a woman at the gates. She has her daughter with her and she says she hasn't awoken in some time."
Rain's dark purple hair flew around as she looked back and forth between the door and Marie.
"I'm coming."
Marie said walking away and leaving me silently cursing her families ability.
~Marie Srine~
There I was standing so close to Kale. At 6'2, my warlock was so handsome and his grey eyes were rimmed with grass green. He had spiked brown hair and a studded left ear, a smaller version of his crest. His black vest buttoned over a white shirt and black pants. As always, Kale was barefoot inside our walls and didn't care much for elegance or manors. And he was so close.
"What?"
I laughed at his annoyance. After Rain explained what was going on I followed her out the door leaving Kale alone, which I knew annoyed him even more.
"Help my daughter please."
An elderly woman begged just inside the main door holding a younger girl in her arms. The woman was dressed like a royal along with her daughter, who looked about as young as I did. I could sense that they were wolves.
"I will do what I can."
I said taking the girl from her mother's arms.
"Her name?"
I asked.
"Nichole. Nichole 'Angel' Smith."
I nodded and had Rain help to carry Nichole into my room and placed her on the bed. I thanked Rain and kindly asked her to leave until I called. My family specialized in not one but two types of magic, wind and dream. Laying out I saw Nichole wore a dress that had many dark shades of purple and seemed to accentuate her body. The feather pendant she wore that hung from around her neck was nestled just under her breasts and all but pointed to the golden celtic knot like belt tied loosely around her waist. Bands of similar color were around her upper arms. The sleeves of the dress flows out let her hands like mine, but longer. Her long, dark brown hair went to her back in smooth curls. She was my height easy.
"Nichole."
I whispered. If it was simply a elongated sleep then that was one thing, but if it was something else than that's why she was here. Calling her name did nothing and so I moved on.
"Angel."
Wolves and dragons had these names that held a power of sorts and told the world they held titles or had passed the Elder's stupid game. Again, nothing happened.
"Múscail."
An echo covered my voice as I hovered my hand over her heart and still nothing.
"A ligean ar an domhan aisling céimnithe ar shiúl agus dúisigh.
Lig an ghrian ag teacht trí do shúile agus dúisigh.
Lig an fuaimeanna an domhain isteach i do chluasa agus dúisigh."
Her eyes began to move and her fingers twitched. I smiled and kept my hand where it was.
"Ar oscailt do shúile agus tá a fhios go bhfuil tú sábháilte anseo sa saol seo mo milis."
I brought my hand back and waited for her eyes to open and when they did I was greeted by bright cyan eyes.
"Why did you wake me?"
Nichole's voice was soft.
"Because if I didn't you would've been asleep for a long time. Your dream was beautiful, I can see why you didn't wish to be disturbed."
I said and watched as her face turned red. She was dreaming of a male wolf named Sam Ivory, one she really took a fancy to.
"Forgive me. I didn't mean to pry. I had to enter your dream to wake you up."
I explained. She thanked me after I explained why she had to wake, seeing as she still didn't understand.
"Tá fáilte romhat."
I said smiling. After that day Nichole came to me often and asked for a lesson in 'dream works' as she called it. It was against Magics Law to teach our spells and knowledge to the beasts but Nichole had become a good friend of mine. I watched her grow old and have pups with the wolf named Sam, a daughter to be precise. A daughter named Vivian. Kale and I also had a daughter, the day my dear friend Nichole passed, her name was Dorothea. Simon and Gabriel never went to war, but instead had sons of their own and taught them their beliefs. Matthew Lucas and James Blood would one day battle in the greatest war known to all kinds, with the Elders on James' side. Little did I know that when that war was over, Vivian would teach the power I gave her mother to her own child and teach her Matthew's ways as well.
-200 years later-
For the first time since the Elder War, a Srine and an Ivory sat face to face in the same room. It was known to all how powerful the Srine family was, the greatest Wind Magic family to ever live, but it was also known how Zukima Srine would correct her grandmother's mistake.
