"God dammit! That was my good knee you bastard!" said Brandon, clutching his knee as though that would relieve him of the pain. "Well are you going to help me or not?" he asked Hope. Rushing over to him she mumbled something like 'I'm sorry.' "I suppose you're very confused by what just happened."
"Yeah, yeah…" She busied herself with tending to his knee that had just been completely destroyed by Connor's giant icicle thing. "I'm sorry who did you say you were again?"
At this Brandon got a huge smile on his face. 'She doesn't know anything. I can tell her everything and she'll hate Connor for sure.' "Well young lady, I, am your older brother, Brandon Bailey."
"Bailey? Isn't that a girls name?" she asked through a giggle fit.
"Hey! Don't laugh, it's your last name to!" He said this like a child pouting.
Once she got over her fit of giggling, she was finally able to talk. "Wait that's my last name. Why didn't I know?"
"Ah, Connor never liked the name after what I did!" said he in an upset way.
"He did say something about you betraying him… What did he mean?" Silenced followed he question.
"It wasn't my fault! They said they wouldn't hurt anyone, just take some things and leave! How was I to know they were lying?!" He ranted on like this for a while, as though he was trying to defend himself.
"Bandon! Brandon!" She yelled at him, trying to gain his attention. "What did you do?"
When he stopped and looked into her eyes, he released a tired sigh. "I have to tell you don't I? You're not going to like this." Adjusting himself ever so slightly, he continued. "It was some eleven years ago, hard to imagine I was only seventeen back then. There was this group of people, they seemed almost magical to me with their weapons and clothes. They wanted something from our home village, never would tell me what, but they promised me magical things similar to theirs. So I went along with it, I got them into to town without anybody noticing. Then one person on guard saw them, he died, and then the killing spread. Eventually the entire town was ablaze, the entire village were fighting these people, and losing. Your brother blamed me for that night, and I do to. After that, both Connor and I tried to kill myself many times, it never worked, I always live, so he took my leg."
At that, he rolled up his pants on his left leg, but instead of one made of flesh and bone, it was entirely of silver. Instead of responding Hope stayed dangerously quiet. "Um… Hope…" there was no reply, "Everything oka- ahh!" She had just hit his right knee, very hard.
Her face had been lowered for a while, but as soon as he let out that scream of pain, her head snapped up. And something was very different. It was her eyes, they had changed to completely empty, lifeless, like a black void, yet full of anger. "YOU KILLED THEM! YOU'RE THE REASON THEY'RE ALL DEAD!" Her voice had changed, becoming deeper, darker, more powerful, it almost seemed evil.
Trying to push himself away from her, Brandon ignored the searing pain that burned in his leg. He had seen this before, with both his dad, and Connor. 'Not again, please don't let it be my other leg.' He had made it a good distance away, but it wasn't far enough. As she moved towards him, her movement was like that of a beowolf crawling along the ground.
She was stopped before she could reach him due to a lot of bricks falling on her. Shaking them all off, she rose again, a deep growl emanating from her. Then Connor landed behind her. "Right, what's going on?" he asked.
"She's trying to kill me!" yelled Brandon.
"Right, anything I should be worried about?"
Hearing this, he responded in an annoyed tone. "She has your semblance! Now save me!" As if on cue, Hope rose from the rubble and slowly turned towards Connor. And seeing those eyes filled with nothingness, he became crestfallen. But went back to business as soon as she started to crawl towards him.
"Argo, any ideas?"
"Well we did have that agreement. If Hope were to ever discover your semblance, you give me control, I beat her down, then you guys talk."
"I agreed to that?"
"It was when you were younger, and discovered that a semblance can sometimes be genetic."
"Well if she's got it now, then as soon as she sees you, she will go berserk." Getting an insane grin on his face he said, "Sounds fun, let's do it." Allowing himself to lose control, there was a flash, then nothing.
"It is good to be out again!" There was a roar from Hope upon hearing this, and she to released all control, her blue aura bursting forth and becoming black. "Let's go." Releasing a roar, she charged headlong into him with sudden horns on her head. Launching him through the wall, he soared through the air, and into another building, causing the entire floor (top floor) that he landed on to crumble. "So that's how it's going to be huh? Alright, augmentations it is."
Hope leaped through the air, landing five meters in front of him. However, Connor or Argo, was ready. With just a flick of the wrist, his right arm was suddenly as big as him, wings grew from his back, and he sprouted a tail like that of a dragon's. One flap of his wings, and he was in front of Hope, giant fist an inch away from her face, then it hit. She was launched through the air, traveling for several blocks, crashing through each building in her way.
As she stood up, Connor landed right behind her. Whirling around to face him, Connor wasn't even turned towards. But he didn't need to be, for his tail wrapped around her throat, and slammed her into the ground repeatedly. Hope could do nothing to stop him.
In his head, it was a different story. "What are you doing?! I want to talk to her, not kill her!"
"Look if you want to talk to her, I have to knock her out first. And there is no other way of doing that, than being really rough with her."
"You could kill her!"
"Oh! Oh I'm sorry! Did you forget? Whenever you hand control over to me, it's to kill someone. So which is it? Let me keep control and kill her? Or gain control, and be killed?"
"Well, when you put it like that… I think I'll go with me having control."
"You're kidding right? Fuck it! Far be it from me to keep you from dieing. Now run along! Go and get killed!"
"You do realize if I die, you go with me?"
"..."
However, while that exchange was going on, Hope's body had gone limp, and her aura was gone. Connor only noticed this after his arm had shrank, and his tail and wings had receded. "Take that you bastard," he said kneeling down next to her. "I didn't have to fight her at all." Lifting her up in his arms, he proceeded to make the long walk back to where Brandon was. "This is going to take a while."
AN : Just barely made it to four pages worth. And before we continue, let me just say something about the semblance. It is possible that some semblances may become genetic. However it is currently unknown if this is possible since the show is still in it's beginnings.
I also wanted to say… fuck the poll! I decided, I'm going to stick to my original plan with this story. I know those one/two who actually voted may be disappointed, but sorry, I've made my decision and that is not final. Speaking of which in the near future there should be a time lapse of sorts, so expect it, but don't get your hopes up, I may forget.
Anyways, spot something wrong? Let me know and I will do my best to try and figure out how to fix it. Want to add to the story? Just let me know and I'll try to work it in if I can.
Finally, finishing this at eleven at night. I know that's not late for some of you, but it is for me. So without further adieu… Until next time Bye!
