A/N: It's come to my attention that a few of the viewers have commented that the story has diverged from my original standpoint, making the main character more of a marty stu. It may seem that way, but understand that in a story, the main character will not always be the focal point of the story for long. Things will make a change from here now, so even though Vincent had pointed that out, the plot won't stay with one group either.
Goku vs Frieza
Chapter 21
Rage of incomprehensible levels sparked in the air while Vegeta watched the third class saiyan beat his old superior into his proper place. As the saiyan prince was irrate about being usurped from his right of the legendary status, he kept a smirk to himself as the young father took out his revenge on the tyrant. The fact of the matter that this docile warrior had changed up the mood, brought the children to his attention. The young mullet-styled kid, sporting RIT model armor, could be described by the prince as sickened by his father's actions. As obvious as it showed to him, Vegeta had saw a reflection of himself in the child's look: frighten and unsure, with a small hint of resentment as he watched on. Quite possibly, the resentment was towards himself, as Vegeta had too, gone through the same experience when he was young.
The second boy, a red haired saiyan (a trait which he recognized as a sign of elite status), could merely stare at his father's limp and motionless body. As obvious as it would seem to an ordinary bystander, the saiyan would appear nothing less than dead, but he knew something else was going on. Perhaps maybe the kid believed his pops was killed by that death beam, though Vegeta had a strong feeling he was only knocked out cold. Subtle clues showed the father hanging on by an inch of his life, such as his small, near unnoticeable jagged breathing, and the occasional jerks of his fingers as he willed himself to survive. Just as extraordinary as the doctors would view Vegeta in a severe condition from proper beating when he trained seriously, he too gazed as the saiyan kept himself alive. But just how long could he last without medical interference?
Frieza stretched out his limbs immediately before having himself fall into another of the warrior's avoiding attacks. A trickle of blood fell of the side of his head, but nothing too severe seemed present to Frieza. He needed to stop worrying, and calm himself from the anxiety which threw him off his cool. "I'm impressed," he began, reassuring himself. "Though this new look, whatever it may be is quite...the show, you've got a long way before defeating me monkey." He began to gain all the confidence that had fled him when the saiyan initially transformed. "I'm still at 80%."
Goku laughed, quite amused with the arcosian's delusional views. He certainly got a good laugh out of his thinking, which confused the tyrant once again as his opponent was everything but intimidated by his claims. As soon as he stopped, Goku wiped his eye in time to see the semi-faltering smirk fading off the tyrant's face. "You're only at 78%, and it's declining by the minute." He stated, bringing the tyrant to a blood-curling realization.
'NO, this can't be happening,' he anxiously thought, avoiding the super saiyan as he was closing in. 'I can't lose to a monkey.' he mentally yelled at himself before having met with a kick directly at his temple. Goku didn't begin to stop there, as he soon descended with the Tyrant, landing a few blows on the motionless arcosian as they fell closer to the ground. The Tyrant, though very much subdue to the pain, jolted himself into position before Goku could end him there. Frieza immediately suspended himself in the air, preventing himself from flying away too far. He reoriented himself quickly, and once he had his bearings, a wicked smile came to him.
"COME BACK HERE YOU COWARD!" Goku yelled in response to his disappearance; unfortunately once he located the arcosian, he was in for a surprise.
As Frieza had expected, the saiyan flew straight at him, launching a few blasts to trick his opponent as he came, but found it had no effect. His attacks seemed to pass through, like Frieza simply fazed out, but as he moved closer, a bright electrical field closed in on him. Trying as he could, the psychic trap withstood many of his attempts, relentless whether he used a kamehameha or barraged it. He felt very displeased at the lack of originality, but also disgust as he understood what he intended. He could not let the Tyrant decimate the survivors, nor would he come to accept their deaths now. He had this feeling, with all this power, that they wouldn't die in vain. Feeling the anger rise up, Goku tried again, then repeated, until Frieza scolded him by driving the ball into the nearest mountain. The impact was not comforting, just as his senses tingled with blood trickling and oxygen depleting inside. A slow and gruesome bludgeoning; even if the saiyan would survive the blows, he should relish the fact that there was no way he could get around his psionic abilities.
Echoes of dark laughter ringed in Vegeta's ears, as it came to realization that Kakarot was being bested. "Crap. If only I was stronger. If I could had gotten a greater boost, then I could have helped." The prince looked around to search for options, but found that the planet was barren after ruling out the incapacitated. He couldn't lose hope, so taking the chance, he contacted the available child. "I have an idea, but you two better trust me if it's ever going to work," He practically held Gohan up by his shoulders as spoke. The kid didn't need to give it much thought, and so he agreed to his terms, but only if they could try something first.
"What exactly do you want me to do Kid?" Vegeta questioned the young fighter, giving a quizzical look. He usually wasn't this guarded, but was merely cautious of Frieza coming after them. Besides that, weren't the two the offspring of scientist?
"We need to relocate to a safer location, back where we summoned the dragon to say the least." Gohan informed, then gave a quick, and pained look at the dying uncle, which his cousin felt desperate enough to try and deliver him the pills in this condition. It was better to give it to Turles and Piccolo, as they were conscious enough to swallow it for the needed effects. Once he was finished using the last of the pills, he gave the remainder to Vegeta, understanding that he would know what to do with it after giving an example. "You'll have take precautions," he informed before telling him to stay clear for the most part.

While Tien, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Zachary were training as usual, an ear-shattering scream pierced through the walls as they held their heads to protect against the sound. While the more sensitive partners were overcome with the noise, the one who didn't felt as uncomfortable noticed it was enough to shut the bots' program. Since it was coded to protect the user's family, the first of their priorities were to end the holograms and find the owner of the scream. Zachary immediately recognized it was his mother, and hurried through in search of Haruna.
When he arrived, he could see her with a palm near her chest, gripping it in short spasms as she trembled at the emotional pain of her dying mate. However, though it was clearly the main cause of her pain, while skimming through her mind, Zachary found himself in risk from an unseen foe. The toddler backed up cautiously, quietly as he feared what might have happened if she had mistaken him for the invisible machines. Having watched how his mother was like when overcome with manic expressions and how Taritzu fended off her scorn, Zachary was best to stay away as his mother made quick scraps of the androids, with its mechanical grinding and the sharp beeps it emitted as it shot lasers at her. While his mother was busy fending them off, the warrior bots assisted her for all they were worth, only to get itself reprogrammed for their cause. Zachary's mother was easily one of the brightest minds on the planet, and most notably a brilliant computer technician, but for a machine to override the robots in seconds was quite a surprise, since Capsule Corp was currently using Haruna's firewall for major insurance.
Fortunately, the override ended abruptly, due to the quick work of Yamcha and Chiaotzu, having shut down the bots and restrained the infiltrators telekinetically. Tien, not wanting to take any chances, went ahead and decimated their former sparring partners, just in case they'd reboot unexpectedly. "Thanks guys," Haruna exhorted after taking a breather. As clear as it was of her marital "dilemma", none bothered to ask; instead, the group went straight to work, dismantling the spies for any clue of their creator.
"Not sure if there's more to this, but how could they have gotten in here?" Yamcha made his mind clear while she processed the mainframe for any key priorities. Tien, without being told, went ahead and flew off to contact Bulma in person, as Haruna's quick glance said everything he needed to know. Chiaotzu tagged along, now being freed of holding the droids back, while Yamcha remained, not getting much intel from their cooperative teamwork. Feeling out of place, he avoided looking at her in the eye, ashamed that a female had taken authority over the situation, but nonetheless waited for any commands necessary.
"They got in through the hangars, though its unlikely we couldn't have noticed it." She began running footage over the last hours to find anything out of routine. Nothing too far different, until-
"Pause the screen there," Yamcha told her. There, on the screen showed Bulma twice, in very different locations with no explanation other than one being a fake. Even if there was a glitch, the footage showed them the truth of the matter: the second Bulma behaved irregular to what they knew. Haruna continued to observe the footage, figuring out that the faker had been right under her surveillance the entire time, while the original had gone off somewhere else. Eventually, she received a phone call at the exact same time the fake had left for personal business. After a few minutes, Bulma didn't show up again, but the imposter did come out of the same room where their friend had been.
"I'll have to check the room for any clues," Haruna said, rushing out the door while telling herself it should had been unlikely.
This left a nervous Zachary with a slack-jaw Yamcha, finally having put the two together. Clenching his fists, the earthling silently cursed their luck and thought back of the many enemies they made. It obviously had to have been originated from earth, but the only enemies they made were Crane hermit and the members of the RR. 'Maybe someone survived though...' He exhaled slowly, relaxing as the idea felt the likeliest of all. Turning about, Yamcha took one last look on the imposter Bulma, finding a detail which Haruna may have overseen. Deciding that actions spoke more than words, he dropped his fists and went out to stop Tien from making a grave mistake.

With the small group now waiting at the summoning grounds, Turles impatiently broke the grim silence. "What's taking him so long?" He referred to his nephew's fight. Though achieving super saiyan was a great honor, the amateur had yet to beat Frieza. "If it was me, I'd already have his head by now."
Gohan snorted at that, but the reverted back to his thoughts. Coming up with a plan on his own was too frustrating, and it bothered him more now than ever with the constant fighting. 'There should be another way,' he thought. 'Uncle always told me there are alternative answers.' Finally, before his mind would be bothered by another headache, an otherworldly figure called out to him.
'Gohan, is it?' King kai started.
"W-Who, what in t-" He blurted out, startling Piccolo and gaining the other's attention. It was a while since he last spoke, and it seemed the kid was begining to crack.
'Calm down... I'm North Kai, and it's good that you're listening.' He rambled on about how his last visitors were rude, then made cracks about them. Calming down from his own jokes, he started informing the child of the plan. 'Alright... you need to be alert from here on. I've made contact with Kami, and he's agreed to use the earth's dragonballs to revive everyone who's been killed by Frieza and his men. This should return many to life, but it won't work on everyone.' His last remark disappointed the boy, but he kept himself in check.
"But we can use Porunga to revive anyone else." Piccolo reminded them, since they hadn't finished any of their wishes yet.
'Yes, but Poruga doesn't have the power to bring multiple beings to life like Shenron. Your best bet is to heal everyone in need and teleport everyone off Namek. That last explosion Frieza survived in exposed the core. You're all lucky the blow didn't disintegrate you from that distance.' King Kai revealed the essential fact which shooked Taiyo out from his manic low. With this, the kid rubbed his eyes, surprised to find Goku transformed in late reaction. "Since when did he match Frieza?"
Large shockwaves revetted through the atmosphere while the two power houses had at it; Goku having trouble getting away from an energy sphere, he strategically made twists and turns, distracting Frieza for a multi-form ambush. Goku had to make his insufficient resistance believable though, and with this new level of thinking, running wasn't any more appealing to him than it was for Vegeta. Fate made a change for the better of the two, allowing for one warrior to settle closer while the other continued to play against him. Meeting his duplicate nearby, Vegeta received the telepathic message, and by the count they claimed their enemy just as the younger saiyan had wanted with greater results. Holding in his half-astonished, half-irritated shriek, the arcosian flipped over the instant he saw his former agent, and nearly reached his tail around the prince's wrists before the duplicate slapped it away.
"AHH, why won't you ever give up. This continues to bore me with each petty attempt you make to stall the galaxy's future ruler!" Frieza nearly leveled the near land masses with his release of frustration, and the resulting force threw Vegeta a few steps back. Using his sheer will, the prince was determined to make a difference for their survival, but how long he could continue to keep up mattered on how Goku, and more importantly, the demi-saiyan would act next. 'It's all up to us.' "It will never end badly for us Frieza; we saiyans have endured burdens far longer than any and it's not going to change here, not now, and certainly not in a future where I exist!"
"Funny, I could of sworn your entire race met its fate two decades ago." Frieza chimed angrily but his smug grin still gave it away of his amusement.
Furious with how demeaned he'd been treated for most of his life, Vegeta fumed, focusing his anger to a single thought, and that was to blast the tyrant with all he had. It wasn't a difference in rank or class that mattered to the prince now. All he wanted was the arcosian to pay, and Goku could understand that, but not with the way Vegeta had in mind.
"VEGETA, DON'T" Goku bursted through the air, intercepting the galick gun which could had blown their atmosphere into oblivion. The catch was seconds off, but in the adrenaline rush, Goku had no room for error, and so a self sacrifice in power was made to protect their friends. Frieza sighed, inwardly disappointed with what would had led to his victory by default. Despite being cut down to 75%, he could had still survived and flown to the nearest base in time before his body would collapse. However, he wasn't staying ignorant and did realize there was no more time to relish these passive moments; quickly acting on principle matters, he pierced the former prince with another one of his death beams, then ignored him entirely to finish the job with the super saiyan.
It didn't bother the tyrant to make sure he made a proper kill; a sloppy death was a death in these extreme situations, but what mattered more was the threat of this rival power. Regaining his strength, Goku jumped back and then closed the distance in that moment. The arcosian blocked as he anticipated the move- only to find it coming from behind. With a hard kick behind the skull, Goku grabbed Frieza by the tail, yanked him close and then pulled him in a lock. He wanted to subdue the tyrant, not kill him, which strangely enough his own mind kept tempting him with the satisfaction of killing.
Sensing his disturbed mindset as opportunity, Frieza slipped his arm from the headlock, jabbing Goku in the gut and reeling him down with him. The supersaiyan was a tough nut, but who could survive a dip in lava! With the added injuries from being dragged forcefully on the hard, cooled, volcanic rocks, Goku struggled to release his neck from the tail, but as he tried, more and more of his oxygen thinned out. Almost coming to a complete faint, the arcosian came to a complete stop, seeing the sky darken once again. 'That's... no, I may have miscalculated. I still have six minutes before the planet goes, it shouldn't be at this stage yet.' His attempt to cook the saiyan alive was foiled once the realization set foot. "THE DARN MONKEY'S TRICKED ME!"
Flying faster with each passing second, Frieza was determined to make his wish; whether the scum would give him a fight or not, his power was still superior to them. 'That super saiyan did drop me down below 70, but I also guess he's down to 64%. He's no match for me; they've all missed the opportunity to finish me-' A look of shock broke him out of his delusional train of thoughts. He kept lying to himself, inflating how powerful he still was, but that only complimented in favor of the saiyans next. The fighters that challenged him was none other than Vegeta, Turles and accompanied next to them was the formerly dead Raditz. Both Vegeta and Turles had the obvious signs of their armor penetrated by his death beam, but they were still capable and healed from the wounds. First wavering his words, Frieza's appalled nature slipped after remembering that their only means of healing was done when he killed the nameks; certainly the three were just in his mind, worrying over such trivial objectives. "How amusing of me to fear such weaklings. It really won't make a difference if they were alive or not; my wish will be granted and then not even Father could stop me." Suddenly the two shot their best attacks, slowing the tyrant down with their might. Having gained a large amount of zenkai, the saiyans continued their teamed barrage, but it was Raditz whose attacks at 20x Kaioken which mostly aided in the bruising of Frieza both physically and mentally before having to move out.

"Okay Dende, we'll need to revitalize both our fathers." Taiyo filled him in with their first wish. Shenron had not only wished back the namek population, but also Ginyu, his Uncle Raditz, and maybe a couple others. The prince had heard of Vegeta having a partner, but he must have died on earth back then. Ginyu, though, was a strange one to follow. The old mercenary once fought for Frieza, but he insisted on aiding them, as if they had forgotten of their recent opposition. "You're not getting out of my sight until my dad's got a say in this. Until then, we're in need of-"
"Taiyo, let him fight. This isn't a time to hold grudges. Besides, I don't think the guys can handle Frieza with his ferocity much longer." To make Piccolo's point clearer, A large outburst of protective ki threw the warriors out from the sky, leaving only one fumed fighter with clear access to Porunga. "Quick, before he reaches closer!" Piccolo commanded the other three, giving their all to halt Frieza's intrusion.
"YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED." The words echoed in their minds, and immediately Goku came in to knock Frieza off course. He had no time to stop, but had realized what his son's plan was by placing his hand on the boy's forehead. Saddened by how the wish would leave the tyrant with time to recover, he powered down to have a brief talk.
"Guy's I need you to teleport everyone but me and Frieza from Namek."
"GOKU, WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?" Piccolo had little idea what was going through the fool's mind, and despite how honorable it was to stay, no one was that willing to sacrifice themselves when the enemy would be taken care of by the planet's explosion. "YOU SHOULDN'T JOKE LIKE THIS."
"I'm not joking around here. I just have this feeling, that Frieza might survive if I don't finish this soon." He retorted calmly. It was eerie to hear his own father to speak like this, but Gohan had a faint clue as to why he wanted to do this.
"ARE YOU SURE KAKAROT?" Vegeta began," You've reached the legendary status now, and wish to give your life away? It didn't have to be like this if you just killed him like I wanted to."
"You have no idea what I'm trying to do here, don't you," Goku spat out, annoyed that after attempting to kill them all, Vegeta stilled honed his pride dearly. "My son had helped you survive and it's thanks to his, no, our decisions that you still live." He brought Vegeta to sullen in his actions, but only for a second- which then he smirked and muttered to himself about not having to thank them for petty feats. "Becoming a super saiyan isn't just about murder Vegeta, it requires control, and I'm not going to let the power manipulate my own wishes to end it how I wanted to in the first place."
Finally, after the much awaited recovery, Taritzu had gotten up from his 'healing coma', made a quick analysis of the planet and loudly stated, "WE'VE ONLY GOT FOUR MINUTES. FINISH FRIEZA NOW."
"Dad, please don't stay. Frieza's already loss; we can get home before planet goes."
"No Gohan, he's not going to give in as easily as that, I can feel him forcing himself to maximum energy. I'd guessing if that doesn't stop, he'll either blow the planet along with everyone or survive. We can't let the nameks die either. You've got to go."
Gohan stood tear-eyed, seeing him faux abandon them, but wiped himself to keep it together. Piccolo hadn't even begin to think what alternatives they could had chosen before Goku made his decision, but he let it go after how he displayed his passion for a fair defeat. That kid spirit he had still hadn't had enough, and his honor was fairly impressive to Turles. Goku was a decent warrior, at least in Vegeta's mind, but everyone else saw him as a long awaited hero. They just prayed he'd make it through.
Piccolo then gave Dende the approval, and after he was given the word, he began to make the wish, though reluctantly as he watched both Gohan and Taiyo study the saiyan one last time as he forced himself into anger and become a super saiyan.
"Hey, Goku," The name he so loved to hear come out of his favorite immediately got his attention. He could see the smile in his eye, seeing as he was making a good choice, but also the disappointment within himself. "Finish him quickly, and get to the ship.." He would had said a bit more, but the words just never came...
It was just him, and Frieza now.
