It started off as a normal day. With a ten year old Elizabeth, Kira and Zephyr just walking along a spring day. The breeze was nice, and the sun was shining.
But something felt off.
Kira pondered what it could possibly be, but found nothing. She sighed.
"Tibs-"
Snap!
Elizabeth froze, as did Kira, and Zephyr didn't hesitated to change. They stood there, with Zephyrs light hissing and Kira commanded black sand in her hand while trying to focuse, the buzzing and numbness in her hands beginning to form.
"AHHH!" They looked up to see a body fall from the trees and land with an "Omf!" Elizabeth screamed, and Kira threw black sand at him, but missed, zipping around the trees before hitting a poor bird. Her attention quickly went back to the body, which was an obvious boy.
Heart-shaped face, black shaggy hair, tinted olive skin, dressed in modern clothes...She didn't know who he was, but she was afraid he was dead.
The boy suddenly gasped, bolting upright, as if electricity zapped him. Blue eyes. He had blue eyes. The boy looked over to see a growling Zephyr, and he quickly backed up.
"W-Woah! G-Good kitty- " He noticed the two girls, who was still staring at him in shock. He didn't know that Zephyr was her pet, so he freaked out.
"Girls! Run! What are you doing just standing there?!" He grabbed a stick and threw it at the panther, who caught it in his teeth and snapped it in half. He gulped.
"Zephyr, calm down." Elizabeth said. To the boy's shock, he did.
"H-How...?"
"He's my pet." She laughed.
"Y-Your what?"
"Hello, I'm Elizabeth." She smiled and held her hand out. He hesitantly returned.
"Kira." Kira said simply, crossing her arms.
"D-Dwyer."
"So," Elizabeth began, smiling, "Why were you up in a tree?" He blushed.
"I thought your cat-"
"His name's Zephyr."
"-Zephyr," He shifted uncomfortably, "I-I thought he was a killer."
"No he's not, silly!" She laughed. Dwyer blushed in embarrassment some more.
"Y-Yeah...I realize that now..." Elizabeth suddenly had an idea.
"Do you wanna be friends?" Dwyer was taken aback by the sudden question.
"Tibs," Kira muttered, but was ignored.
"U-Uh... sure?" She grabbed his hand again happily.
"Great! C'mon!"
.
.
.
"U-Uh, Elizabeth, wont your parents be mad?"
"Nope! I'll just explain it to my dad!" She kept pulling him further into the woods, and Dwyer was torch lights.
"Wh-What about your mom? Slow down!" Elizabeth stopped running, and looked a bit sad.
"Our mom died when we were little." Kira answered.
"Both my parents did."
"You're a orphan?"
"Yeah...But my parent's butler, Raymond, is raising me." Elizabeth nodded. He didn't tell her about his secret, he just met her!
"Oh." Elizabeth bit her lip, then brightened up. "I wanna show you something!"
.
.
"Why are we at a village?" She shushed him, glancing over the rock.
"Look!" Dwyer looked over with her to see a crowd of little kids and adults, looking at a brown haired boy telling a story. He jumped up and said something loudly, and the children squealed and screamed. The boy bowed down and clapping was heard, and the people dispersed.
"See? He does this every night. I don't know who he is, but-"
"You've never talked to him?"
"No, she hasn't." Kira gave Elizabeth a look, "How often do you come here, Tibs?"
"Uh..."
"Well-"
"Oh! I gotta go!" Elizabeth said, standing up and turned to run off. She stopped and looked back with a smile.
"Bye! See you tomorrow?" She ran off with Zephyr. Despite her perkiness, he smiled.
Kira glanced at him with a slightly amused smile.
"Bye." She followed her sister.
"Yeah...See you tomorrow." For once, he felt truly happy.
