Chapter 20: Hello Okinawa
[Night before the flight]
"Toiletries check. Ticket, check. Enough clothes, check. Looks like they didn't get to sneak in any more revealing clothes, huh? Also, no bikinis..check." A sigh escapes Misaki as she does her final check of her luggage.
When Kaya learned that Takumi and Misaki are finally going to Okinawa, she couldn't stop herself from getting excited. She even invited Misaki, Aoko, Suzuna, and even Sayaka, who's visiting for a few days over the break, to shop for clothes that Misaki should bring. She went ahead and made Misaki to fit quite a number of swimsuits, mostly bikinis, that seemed too showy for Misaki. She almost took a whole rack, but Aoko and Misaki stopped her and they were able to convince her to lower her purchase to ten sets. When Misaki started packing, Kaya would sometimes sneak in and place some bold lingerie and night gowns into Misaki's suitcase. Though Misaki keeps on scolding Kaya, Kaya reasons that Misaki should always be ready for anything. But Misaki keeps on telling her that there's nothing of that sorts that she needs to prepare for.
Misaki sighs again just remembering the last couple days. She had to constantly check her luggage and constantly repack it.
Well, we have an early flight tomorrow so I guess she won't have any more chances to rummage through my stuff. Still, I can't believe that guy…deciding all of this on his own. And I'm always taken by his pace. *sigh* I've been sighing quite often lately, too….
*knock*
"It's open," Misaki says.
"Onee-chan, do you need anything more for your trip," Suzuna asks as she enters the room.
"I think I have everything. Thanks." Misaki glances to the door and says, "Do you need anything, stupid brother of mine?"
A teary eyed Hikaru stands by the door frame. "Can't I go with you? I can finally stay home longer this time, but you're not around…I know we all can go!"
"Don't be ridiculous, Hikaru," Suzuna comments. "You'll just be a bother to them."
"But….*sob*….but…*sob*….I can't take this…handing my precious sister over to a boy...*cries*… Misaki," Hikaru grabs her by the shoulders, "if he does anything bad to you, run, okay? And call me; I'll be there in a flush, okay?"
"Stop it, you're creeping me out," Misaki pushes him out of the room. "Relax, okay?"
"She's right, Hikaru. Let's go. Onee-chan needs to rest. She has to wake up early tomorrow," Suzuna follows. "Then, good night, one-chan. I won't be coming with you to the airport tomorrow, so I'll say my regards now."
"Mmm. Thanks!"
*sigh* That stupid brother, always making a ruckus.
...
[Next Day]
The Ayuzawa couple went with Misaki and Usui to the airport to send them off.
"Are you sure you didn't forget anything," Minako makes a last minute reminder to Misaki.
"Yup. I doubled check my stuff last night before going to sleep," she reassured.
On the side, Sakuya is also giving Takumi his last minute reminders. "I leave my daughter to you, Takkun."
"Yes, sir. I'll take care of her while we're there."
Satisfied with the young man's reply, Sakuya gives Takumi a gentle smile. "I know you won't let me down," he says as he patted Takumi's shoulders. "You have my complete trust."
TRUST. It is such a big word for Takumi and he will do everything to cherish the trust Misaki's parents are giving him.
"Have fun you two," Minako waves, along with his husband, as Misaki and Takumi makes their way into the departure area.
…
The flight from Tokyo to Okinawa was less than 2 hours and 30 minutes. The two arrived at Okinawa at about 11 am, and it was lunch time by the time they got to the hotel. Upon arrival, Misaki and Takumi were welcomed by the busy lobby filled with so many guests.
"There sure are a lot of people," Misaki looks around.
"Un. I didn't expect this. Good thing we have accommodations already arranged ahead of time. I'll go check as in," Takumi replies as he heads to the front desk. Misaki follows.
"Good afternoon, sir and miss. How may I help you," the receptionist greets them.
"We have reservations under Usui Takumi," Takumi presents her with the papers containing their booking information.
"Aah, yes Mr. Usui and…Mrs. Usui, I believe?"
"Huh," surprised, Misaki exclaims, extremely red. Then, Takumi clears his throat, "Excuse me, we're not married."
"Oh," the receptionist giggles. "I'm sorry for my mistake. Just a moment, please."
As the receptionist checks the computer for the two's accommodations, Takumi shoots a glance at the blushing Misaki. "Your cheeks are so red, Mrs. Usui," he remarks with a grin.
"Wh-what are you spouting?!"
"Shhh. You're too loud."
"I-it's cuz you're saying such nonsense," embarrassed, she replies.
"Excuse me, sir," the receptionist calls their attention. "I've checked that you'll be staying here for four days and three nights. Here're your room card keys. Please enjoy your stay with us." The receptionist hands two cards to Takumi, but when Takumi looks at them, the room number is similar for both the cards.
"Ummm, excuse me, but I believe we were supposed to get separate rooms," he inquires.
"Let me check again," the receptionist replies. "It's true that your booking was for two separate rooms. I'm terribly sorry about that. Please give me a minute to fix it."
"Thank you."
After a couple minutes of looking into the computer, the receptionist says, "We currently don't have any extra rooms available, sir. Currently, there is a convention going on nearby and our hotel is housing most of the attendees. That's why we're almost fully book for this week."
"Is that so," Takumi replies.
"What's going on? You mean we have to stay in the same room," Misaki asks, troubled.
"Yes miss. I'm really sorry. There might've been a mix up when your booking was getting prepared," the receptionist explains.
"Are you afraid I'm gonna eat you," Takumi asks as he pears into Misaki's face.
"N-no…I'm not…"
Seeing the trouble going on, the owner approaches the front desk. "Is something the matter?"
"Sir."
"Is that you, Takumi-kun," the manager asks in surprise.
"Y-yes," a confused Takumi answers.
"It's been a long time," the manager happily extends his arm for a handshake, which Takumi accepts. "Looks like you don't remember me. We just saw each other the last time you visited your father's company."
"Oh, Kurokawa-san?"
"Hahahahaha. Yes, yes. So, what's going on here?"
"Sir. They booked for two rooms but the records say that they only have one room. There might've been a mix up. We don't have any spare rooms to give them, since we're fully booked for the week," the receptionist informs Mr. Kurokawa.
"Hmmm. Is that so? Well, it was our mistake, sorry about that. To make up for it, I'll give you the presidential suite," Kurokawa beams.
"P-presidential suite," Misaki stutters. "But aren't we still staying in the same room."
"That is true young lady," Kurokawa smiles at Misaki. "But the difference with the suite and your King bedroom is you can kick Takumi-kun to the living room and make him sleep in the couch. Hahahahahaha."
"A-haha..ha.." Misaki reluctantly laughs.
"But we're only here because of the price we won, and those accommodations can't make up for it," Takumi says.
"That's fine," Kurokawa assures. "Just take it as a gift from me. I've known you're father for years now and he's been a great friend to me."
With Kurokawa's insisting, Takumi and Misaki finally gave in and accepted the offered room.
The Presidential Suite is spacious with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, and a bedroom with a king size bed. A view of the beachfront and a balcony is also available for the two.
"This room sure is amazing," Takumi remarks, touring around the room.
"I-it really is..." Misaki replies in awe.
*growl*
While they explore the suite, the undeniable feeling of hunger interrupts them from their actions.
*chuckle* "Well, should we go down and eat lunch at the hotel's restaurant," Takumi asks.
"Hmmm...actually, if it's okay, can we look around for local places to eat," Misaki requests.
"That's not a bad idea, too. Then, let's go."
...
Misaki and Takumi found a local restaurant where they ate lunch. Afterwards, they continue to sightsee around and went to the local shopping areas nearby. Before they know it, it was already evening and decided to eat dinner out. The night atmosphere was different. There were performances by the beach, sand sculptures illuminated by the shore and many more. The two were able to come back to the hotel by 10 pm.
"You can go ahead and take your bath first," Takumi offers.
"T-then, I'll go ahead," Misaki bashfully answers.
*doki doki* What's wrong with me? *doki doki* Why won't my heart stop beating fast...? It's not like there's gonna happen...right? Right?
After her bath, Misaki puts on a robe and slowly peeks out of the room. She sees Takumi reading a book on the couch. Avoiding his attention, she carefully sneaks out to get her luggage.
"What's wrong," Takumi stands up and asks, making Misaki flinch in surprise.
"U-ummm, I forgot to grab some change of clothes," Misaki replies without looking.
"Hmmmmm." Takumi smiles meaningfully.
"Wh-what..?"
"No, nothing. Are you done with the bath or are you still coming back?"
"I...still need to change..."
"You can do that in the bedroom," Takumi suggests.
"N-no way. Y-you might sneak a peek," Misaki glares and all Takumi replies her with an amused chuckle.
Misaki then opens her luggage only to find her whole wardrobe different from what she packed. She found sundresses and short dresses that she doesn't even own. The only things familiar to her were some of her underwear mixed with bold and revealing lingerie and nightgowns she never would imagine that she will wear. She also sees five pairs of bikinis. Speechless, she holds up one night gown, without her knowledge Takumi is still there also looking at her clothes.
"Oooh. I didn't know you wear those, Ayuzawa," Takumi remarks.
"Wha-?! Why are you still here?!" Misaki slams her luggage shut in an instant. "G-go back t-to wh-what you were doing!"
"By the looks of it, you got the wrong luggage at the airport," Takumi continues as he goes back to the couch.
Misaki checks the luggage again and discovers a note.
Dear Misaki,
I went ahead and improved your luggage. I took out those boring clothes you packed. Hope you enjoy your vacation.
Kaya
"K-KAYA-SAAAAAN!" Misaki crumples the note with a whine.
This calls Takumi's attention and goes back by Misaki. "What did my sister do?" Noticing the note Misaki is holding, he takes it from her fist and reads it, then he sighs. "Onee-san..." He opens his luggage as well and takes out a pair of his pajamas. "Here," he offers to Misaki.
"Eh?"
"You can wear this for the meantime. Tomorrow we can look for some pajamas for you."
"Ah...Mmmm," she silently replies.
…
A few moments later, Misaki enters the living room and says, "U-usui, you can g-go ahead and use the bath."
Takumi turns to the girl and check if everything is alright and sees a flushed Misaki tugging the pajama shirt she's wearing, his pajama shirt she's wearing. The shirt was so big, the neckline was a bit deep for Misaki, showing a bit of her cleavage.
"Ummm...the pants were too big for me so I didn't wear it...do you think you have another one you can let me borrow?"
It took Takumi a second to collect himself and reply, "Ah, w-wait." He rummages through his clothes and grabs a boxer shorts. "Here. Try it," he hands them to Misaki who then takes it slowly. "Thanks," Misaki replies.
Takumi has seen Misaki blush and turn a deeper red than she is right now, but there was something different. Her skin with a tinge of pink, along with her exposed long legs, gave a different aura around the girl. With the sight in front of him, Takumi can only think one thing...
It's going to be a looooooooooooong night... *gulp*
