Who says we gotta live that way…

The man watched from a distance at the young female duelling before the audience. Her confidence was thrilling, and her psychic powers enhanced the experience even more. He smirked at the shaken and terrified looks of the other members in the audience, afraid of her immense, uncontrollable power. But he saw her differently. Very, very differently.

She was perfect. She had the exact power and confidence to help him achieve what he desired so very badly.

"Now, Black Rose Dragon! Obliterate!"

She sent forth the mighty dragon, and the ground cracked around her opponent's feet, threatening to consume him. Her opponent dropped to his knees, tears leaking from his eyes in horror as the fire consumed him mercilessly.

As the people around her continued to bump into each other, all trying in desperate attempts to get away, he stood still, watching from the shadows.

"Akiza." He called when everyone had left, leaving the two of them alone in the destroyed arena.

"What!" her wild eyes few with anger, watching and panting as he emerged from the shadows.

"I must say, you are a wonderful duellist." He started, knowing that he had to watch his words and make a good first impression if he wanted to get on her good side. "You're psychic powers are absolutely incredible. But I can't help but feel that you find the a little… overwhelming.'

"What the hell would you know about my powers?" she sneered. An attitude, he thought to himself. I'll have to deal with that later.

"You're not alone Akiza. I have powers just like you. Come with me, and join the Arcadia Movement." He stepped closer to her, opening his arms in a welcoming embrace.

"What's the Arcadia Movement?" Akiza asked, stepping back, but the man knew that he had sparked her interest.

"A place where people like us belong." He smiled warmly. "Where people like us are not degraded, because of our powers. We all share our powers, and we are all one big family."

"F…family?" Akiza whispered, tripping on the word, and he winced, realising that he had hit a soft spot unintentionally.

"Yes. Rejected by society, we band together to take back what society took from us. Who said that you had to live this way Akiza? You deserve better than this. Much better." He reached into his pocket, extending it to her and revealing a piece of paper. He handed it to Akiza, who took it gently. "Just think about it. When you decide that you want to try out Arcadia, come to this address, and ask for Sayer. That's me. I'll test you and see if you are strong enough to join our army. But, based solely on how you duelled today, I'd say that you're more than good enough. I'll be seeing you soon, Akiza."

And with that, Sayer turned, returning to the shadows, leaving the student alone in the rubble to her thoughts.
