Zazuki strides through his new home in Kuoh going straight to his study; the room his neatly organized with everything seeming to have a home. The bookshelf is riddled with magical tomes from all ages of magical history. Zazuki instantly goes to his desk which in comparison to the rest of the room is completely trashed. The desk made of an old mahogany is littered with various papers which Zazuki can now be seen to be rifling through at a breakneck pace.
"Swearing under his breath he slams his fist onto the top of his desk causing a loud bang to echo throughout the room. He takes a couple of deep breaths trying to calm himself before he attempts to continue in his endeavor. A few moments later Kimiko enters the room and as she sees the frustration etched on Zazuki's face she walks over to him and sits down on top of the desk, "What's wrong love?"
"Zazuki looks up into her eyes letting a small smile grace his face for a moment before he takes a deep breath and looks down, "I'm becoming sloppy Kimiko, I let Riser get the better of me and not only that I'm forgetting about my other duties with the Conclave while on this job."
Kimiko sighs softly and gently caresses Zazuki's face before bringing him in for a gentle kiss. The kiss lasted for only a moment but in that moment all of Zazuki's stress left his body. Kimiko smiles softly wrapping her arms around his body "Zazu it's going to be fine, so what you made a couple of mistakes these things happen. Hell all of the Magus' make these sorts of mistakes sometimes don't be so hard on yourself."
He nods slowly closing his eyes as he leans into her body slightly, just enjoying the feeling of her being close to him was enough to sooth the unease within his soul. For a while the two sit like that, just holding each other enjoying the presence of one another. Sadly the two couldn't stay like that forever and after a while Zazuki opens his eyes and lets out a soft sigh. "Alright then Kimiko tell me everything about the meeting between you and Yasaka."
If any one word could define Sirzechs' current mood disgusted would be right at the top of the list easily. He thought for sure that Zazuki would be more than enough to handle Riser Phenex but it seems that the third heir was a little more clever than he looks. Not once did Sirzechs think that Riser would ever stoop as low as he did in order to score a victory. After speaking the the boy's parents Sirzechs could tell that even they were disgusted by their actions. However it seems that the clan elders found the sneaky victory to be worthy of a devil, and as such a rematch between the two peerages was immediately dismissed.
Now could Sirzechs just flex his political muscle and force a rematch to happen? Sure, there was absolutely no one who could deny him as he is one of the four Great Satans. However, should he decide to do so he would be no better than the regime that he helped to take down. That being said the only thing going through his head at the moment was trying to find a way to get his sister out of this mess of an arranged marriage.
As stated previously a rematch was out of the question due to the meddling from the various elders of the clans. What else could he do to try and get Rias out of the predicament he and his father unwittingly put her into. All of this would have been so much easier if Riser were anything like Ruval or Raizen. Even if Rias wouldn't have liked either of those two at least they would have respected her unlike Riser. Hell Riser is the only one who still wants this marriage to go through. but Lord and Lady Phenex along with his father cannot just break the agreement or they would risk losing favor with the elders.
That may have been one mistake that Sirzechs may have made after the civil war. Establishing the elders council was the way that they showed that the new maou would be nothing like the previous regime. They were established by the current maou as a sort of check and balance system to buffer the maou from having unlimited power over the devils as a race, and leading the charge for the elders is the current head of the Bael clan. A blood purist who is against all half-breeds and reincarnated devils that is pushing for arranged marriages between all the remaining clans to retain their superior blood.
This is one of the most erroneous statements that Sirzechs had ever heard being spout at him from one of his own. The devils as a race should have been a meritocracy after they abolished the old regime, but it seems that the older generation just wanted a new set of maou who were more pliable for their uses.
Even knowing this Sirzechs still wouldn't have changed how they set up their current government. Sure is it far harder for him and his compatriots to put through changes for the devil race, but with this system he can truly say that they have evolved past the previous regime. Now if only he could convince the elders that blood purity means nothing then his life would be far easier. Especially since he is the maou in charge of domestic affairs.
Sirzechs shakes his head softly and rubs his forehead bringing his focus back to the matter at hand that being the arranged marriage his sister is currently stuck in. As far as he could see there isn't much for him to do. There's him officially nullifying the Rating Game against the Elder's wishes which is something that he really doesn't want to do. However, outside interference is a very viable reason for him to nullify the decision. A small smirk makes his way onto his face as he thinks of this. The general masses would most likely agree with him on this matter despite the fact that it works in the favor of his sister.
For a minute Sirzechs sifts through the papers on his desk before coming upon the one document he was looking for before he signed the bottom of it. "Grayfia can you please come in." A few moments later his Queen enters the room giving Sirzechs a short curtsey "What is it that you require Sirzechs-sama?"
Sirzechs hands Grayfia the document before smiling "bring this document to the Rating Game office, I'm officially nullifying the match between Riser Phenex and Rias Gremory and a rematch shall be scheduled at the soonest convenient time."
Grayfia gives him a short nod before leaving in a teleportation circle allowing a small smile appear on her face for a brief moment before become stoic once more as she disappears from the room.
