Hello all my wonderful readers this is a very short chapter and the last chapter I will right for this story I know it is a bittersweet day indeed. However as promised there is going to be a sequel the first chapter isn't written yet but I have a title. so yeah enjoy the last chapter it's mainly a Shiro and Satan chapter not as a pairing though.
Shiro says nothing as he slumps back in his seat. Satan watches with curious eyes as the soon to be grandfather stares into the cool morning air. He can see the fear… the hesitance… but also the anger. Satan couldn't possibly fathom a reason for the Ex-Paladin to be angry about. He had two beautiful sons… well they had two beautiful sons, they also were going to have a grandchild… All of those things were wonderful things nothing to be enraged about. Satan than watches as Shiro shakes his head as if to clear out the fog that had settled over his mind.
"So I'm going to be a grandpa." Shiro says and Satan bobs his head enthusiastically.
"There hasn't been a fully demonic child born in many years… Shiro I don't think you understand how wonderful this truly is." Satan tells him and Shiro watches the older demon begin to explain the mechanics of the situation. However Shiro doesn't hear anything after him stating how wonderful this is. All he knew was that if he didn't focus on this battle than he was going to get himself killed. He didn't have time right now to wonder about frivolous dreams of demonic children. Shiro was a general and a general knew one thing… it was how to fight, when to fight, and where to fight. He would never need other's opinions on the battlefield so surely he wouldn't need others on grandparent hood. It couldn't be that hard, after all he had been a successful parent.
"Stop." Shiro commands Satan who doesn't stop.
"This child shall have magnificent powers…"
"I said stop!" Shiro yells and Satan is taken aback by his sudden outburst. He doesn't mean to but Shiro uses his powers to burn Satan.
"Ouch! Dammit Shiro!" Satan curses as Shiro stares at him in surprise.
"I didn't mean to… I'm sorry." Shiro apologizes quickly as he backs away from the demon.
"Shiro it's quite all right… where are you going?" Satan asks as he watches Shiro turn quickly on his heel and sprint off in the other direction. "Shiro come back!" Satan shouts after the demon who continues fleeing into the early morning light. Never being one to give up quickly he starts after the demon, his burns healing swiftly. Shiro seeing the demon pursuing him he picks up the pace and dodges around a corner in an attempt to lose Satan. However Satan being the cunning old man that he is uses his powers to teleport right in front of Shiro causing the demon to fall backwards.
"Damn Satan you're built like a brick wall." Shiro mutters under his breath.
"I know Raijin used to say the same thing, now tell me how long do you plan to be like this?" Satan asks and Shiro looks away from him with a frown.
"You think this is a choice? Satan I can't control it, and I don't know how to!" Shiro shouts at him angrily while his flames surround them in an enraged red color.
"I understand this, but you cannot control them with anger… Shiro you must try to feel something else. Tell me what do they mean to you?"
"They can't mean anything Satan they are just fire!"
"Shiro that is exactly my point… These flames are not just a physical form, they are a rendition of a demon's emotions. They represent everything it means to be a demon. The fire that burns straight down to our core, the fire that not only illuminates the darkness in our eyes but also in our hearts, and most of all they represent the strength of our will. Shiro are you aware of the strength of colors?" Satan explains passionately as he creates several different colored flames in the palm of his hand.
"No Satan I do not know the power of which you speak of." Shiro responds and Satan smiles as he watches the flames waver slightly.
"Blue the color of loyalty is the strongest in our lore, that is why my sons who rely heavily on fire burn blue. Which is rather ironic in Ibis' case, though before he burnt Amaimon he was very loyal. The next strongest is yellow the color of optimism, it burns brightly and purely warding away the darkness of doubt. It is very rare for any demon to be born with this color simply because Gehenna is very dark, this is a color favored by the deities of Paradise. After yellow comes red, the color of anger this is a common color amongst demons considering we for the most part we are an angry species so it makes sense. This however is usually just a starting point for demons only true reds can maintain the purity of the color. Next is the color indigo a color representing moral detachment a color mastered by my eldest Samael. Not the strongest but certainly not the weakest it is for those who save their powers for specific occasions. Moving right along we have green the weakest of the five it is symbolic compassion. Now we both know that Amaimon isn't the strongest of my children, but by far he is the most caring of my sons and I would dare say all of demon kind." Satan explains with a smile as he watches Shiro's flames completely die down.
"Angry… I'm not angry…" Shiro murmurs to quietly and Satan raises his eyebrow in surprise.
"Shiro the only time I've only ever seen you use your powers was when you are angry. So again I'll ask you, are you sure you're not angry?" Satan asks him and watches as the demon looks to his feet again in a sort of defeat.
"So what if I'm angry! What's it to you?"
"Shiro it's everything because if you're angry then it throws off the whole balance of everyone, and especially with Rin. That concerns me because I will not have my grandchild possibly grow up with an angry old man... Young demons are very susceptible to becoming just like their parents or the people around them." Satan explains and Shiro nods his head in understanding.
"Then teach me Satan teach me to control them." Shiro pleads and Satan turns to face him with a smile.
"I can't teach you anymore than you already know from here you must do it."
"But."
"Shiro the only thing you must do is find a new reason for your powers, and I assure you they will work perfectly."
"Satan then what should I do?"
"Tell me what three things that are always true."
"No that never helps me, I need a new mantra."
"Well then how about… how about Human, Demon, Deity." Satan says after a few minutes having come up with a new one.
"What?"
"The three stages of enlightenment… Humanity is knowing that their is a higher power in life, but being unable to do anything to affect it. The next step is Demon hood where you actively work to either make Humanity better or you work for yourself. Lastly there is Deity where you have become exactly what you prayed to in the beginning. Human, demon, deity it shows that even the mighty started out small." Satan states and he watches as Shiro begins to chant the mantra slowly. He can see that an inkling of something else began to set in because Shiro's flames start to waver and the circle once surrounding them became smaller. "Shiro tell me what do you feel?"
"I feel angry…."
"But you must feel something else otherwise the flames would have over taken us by now… Come open your eyes Shiro and behold all that is your power." Satan urges as he watches Shiro hesitantly opens his eyes. What he beholds is something both magnificent and terrifying, it is a large tiger made completely of crimson fire. The beast moves about as though it had a mind of it's own and they watch as it slinks over to Shiro.
"Satan what is this?" Shiro asks hesitantly afraid that if he made the wrong move the tiger would pounce on him.
"This my dear Shiro is a manifestation of your powers, these are very rare amongst red demons simply because it takes a great amount of anger to produce this. Shiro this beautiful tiger is deciding whether or not to end your misery or accept you as it master." Satan explains as he uses his powers to manifest his white wolf bathed in blue flames.
"I don't…"
"No Shiro you do know, and now you must decide whether or not you have the strength to accept yourself or will you let this beast consume you." Satan asks as he uses his wolf to make sure the tiger kept it's distance from him. He couldn't afford to take the risk that Shiro couldn't control his powers fully. The tiger having sensed Shiro's hesitance growls at him threateningly and then pounces pinning him to the cold stone. "Shiro it is like a familiar except this time you can't just tear up the paper. You must gain control before it kills you!" Satan commands as he watches his friend remained pinned beneath it. Shiro says nothing as he attempts to fidget out of the way but the beast's hold remains true.
'Tell me Shiro are you willing to forfeit your life for nothing?' It asks as it's fiery gaze burns into his mind. The beast tears into his memories as though searching for something, but what it finds is only enrages it more. 'These powers have caused you nothing but pain just surrender to me, and I will make your death as painless as can be.' It hisses angrily at him and Shiro looks into it's eyes promising an existence filled with release. No more anger, no more pain, and no more life.
"Shiro don't you dare give up on me!" Satan yells breaking the beast's control on his mind. "If you accept defeat then that means you are giving up on Rin as well. Don't you remember when I first possessed your body and you fought tooth and nail to get it back. You didn't just roll over when things got tough you took back control in order to save him! Now I want you to do the same I want you to fight for yourself… Now fight, take back control!" Satan commands and he watches as Shiro stares the beast down.
"I am stronger than you and I will no longer be consumed by anger!" Shiro screams as he pushes the beast off of him. "I am your master!"
'So you have chosen life Shiro, but you realize that this isn't an easy task.' It taunts as it rises defiantly.
"I am your master, now bow!" Shiro orders and he watches as the proud tiger lower it's head and bow in submission. Satan can't help but cheer as he watches the triumph over his friend's rage. The tiger having admitted defeat slinks towards Shiro and then in a great burst of crimson light the tiger merges into him. Shiro now feels his usual rage gone and replaced with a sense of belonging. He now knew that he wasn't some stranger in his own life; he was a demon, a red demon, a demon of anger and he would use that rage to protect them. No longer would he hide in the shadows of fear, now he would use his powers freely saving all that he cared about. With a large grin on his face Shiro produces a small crimson flame in the palm of his hand. He then cups it with both and turns it into a very small version of the tiger seen before.
"Shiro you have done it… and you are a true red, very rare Shiro… this is very rare indeed." Satan explains as he strokes his chin in thinking.
"Satan?"
"Hm?"
"What are you thinking about?" Shiro asks as he releases his tiny tiger and it walks down off of his hand. As it walks away they see it fade away into the early morning sunrise.
"Nothing… I just have a bad feeling about today." Satan tells him as he motions for Shiro to follow him.
"Satan do you thing we will win?" Shiro inquires and Satan nods quickly.
"Yes…. I think your son is about to do something very stupid, however we don't have time to deal with it right now. So come on Shiro." Satan answers cryptically as they hurry to meet up with the others.

"I thought he was our son?" Shiro asks.
"Nope he's your son when he does something stupid." Satan responds.
"That's not fair most of the things he does are stupid."
"Hey that's not... actually it kinda is..." Rin admits in defeat as his tail sinks to the floor and his ears point down.
"But we love you anyways, especially because your carrying my demonic grandchild." Satan adds as he ruffles Rin's hair.
"You only love me because I'm pregnant. I HATE YOU FATHER!" Rin shouts as he turns away in a huff. Leaving Satan confused, Shiro and Steff chuckling, and Yukio glaring at his fathers.
"See what you've done, now I have to try and fix this. Satan you are so insufferable sometimes." Yukio comments too also leaving in anger.
"You fail as a father." Shiro taunts and Satan lowers his head.
"I know."
"Awe buck up Satan you're not that bad." Steff says trying to cheer him up however he only slinks off into the darkness.
"And then there were two." Shiro mutters and Steff just glares at him.
"Shut up Shiro, go play with your tiger!" Steff shouts and Shiro humphs then slinks off to go play with his tiger.
"Hello!"
"Amaimon this isn't a you chapter, terribly sorry Steff." Mephisto apologizes as he tugs Amaimon's tail and they start to leave.
"No it's cool, Amaimon would you like to tell them goodbye?" Steff offers and Amaimon smiles widely.
"YES! Goodbye Readers and as always make sure to review also keep watch for the sequel The Legacy of the Okumura Twins."
