Chapter 20: Poor kit
Author's note: This chapter takes place a couple days after last one, so kits eyes are open now.
"Leafpool!"
Leafpool was sorting herbs in the Medicinecat den when she heard someone call her name.
She stopped what she was doing and walked out of her den. She heard the same cat call her name from inside the nursery again, so she headed in there.
"What's wrong? she asked. She noticed Squirrelflight looking worried with Jaykit by her.
"I think something's wrong with him…" She meowed. Leafpool rushed over to her kit.
"What do you mean?" Leafpool asked trying to stay calm.
"The kits were playing a game, and Hollykit was calling him to follow her, and he asked where she was, and she was only 2 feet away from him…" Squirrelflight explained.
Leafpool nodded, and then began to looked at Jaykit.
She looked carefully at Jaykit's eyes, and then her heart stopped. Something was wrong with his eyes.
"No….No… Please Starclan no!" Leafpool whispered.
Squirrelflight looked at her sister even more worried.
"What's wrong?" Squirrelflight asked
"My poor, poor kit." Leafpool started sobbing.
"Leafpool, what's wrong with him?" Squirrelflight meowed seriously.
Leafpool took a breath, wiping her tears away with one of her paws and whispered:
"He's blind."
