Ducks were going crazy and the girls woke up to the quaking. It was another sunny morning and they crawled out of the tent.
The guys had started a fire, cooking smoores.
"mm chocolate in the morning." Jane said, walking to Spinner with pajamas still on.
Emma and Manny had the same idea with jeans and a sweater and Emma wore a white one with her hair down as Manny a yellow with her hair also down and bangs a bit messy from the sleep.
Lucas grinned lazily at her, letting Manny fall and cuddle into his lap on the camping chair he sat on.
Jay was cursing madly to himself, trying to make a "fucking smoore!" he finally said outloud, frustratingly throwing the cracker just right into the pit and giving up.
Emma laughed, sitting next to him and grabbed the things she needed out of the boxes and began to easily make on for him.
He smirked, but smiled like a child when he finally got one made for him and ate it quick, "Another." he said with mouth full
Emma sent him a playful glare but did so and then wrinkled her nose when he gave her a morning kiss on the cheek while eating, "Ew" she laughed, whipping her cheek.
All wrapped up in a good time, it was slowly ended when a red car was slowly driving down the pathway over to their camp site.
Oh god. Sean's car.
Emma's eyes widened and they all got up. She, by fear, hid behind Jay a bit.
Sean got out and Spinner raised his arms happily, "Cameron! Nash, join the party." he said.
Emma fearfully watched Ellie there too, holding hands with him as they rounded the car when they got out and came over to them.
So, they were dating still?
Sean caught her eye and sent a bit of daggers at her then look around to smirk, "Smoores huh?"
"We brought beer." Ellie happily said, raising the pack.
Jane, Spinner, Lucas and even Manny cheered. Jay, who stood next to Emma, slowly snaked his arm around her waist.
He could sense her a bit tense, and thought maybe, it was because it was Ellie and Sean..and since he had told her the story of him kinda hooking up with Ellie. Emma was crazy if she thought Ellie was even a small OUNCE of competition. He also, maybe, pulled her in closer to him when he kept catching Sean eyeing HIS girl.
"Wheres the dock?" Ellie asked, ready for a swim and of course, wearing a BLACK bikini.
Everyone grabbed towels and beer, and Jay couldn't help but notice Sean mutter a hello to Emma and her shoot him a pretty harsh glare...which was totally acceptable to Jay but made him wonder.. he quickly forgot about it though when she pulled his hand toward the lake.
Emma couldn't believe this though..stalker much? So much for being alone and when is she going to find the time to tell Jay the truth? This was horrible
"This is the life." sighed Ellie, red hair sprawled around the dock floor as the other girls also tanned side by side wither
It went Ellie, Jane, Emma and MAnny.
Emma tensed, feeling horrible being near Ellie. She didn't know her well, other than she was dating her ex and she judged her too much for that before...now she didn't care at all and Ellie was actually being pretty nice.
"This place is kinda even..romantic." Ellie admitted turning to the girls.
"Well, it hooked up Manny and my brother." taunted Jane with a laugh they joined in on.
"shut up." giggled Manny, "Least we weren't the one's having sex-"
"MANNY!" Emma madly leaned up on her elbows, glaring at the so called best friend who couldn't keep her mouth shut. She may of been a frisky girl in bed now but she still didn't like anybody knowing it. That was her and Jay's business.
"Really?" Ellie couldn't help but say out loud.
Emma cornered her eyes, waiting for the judgement as all the girls laid back, leaning up on their elbows and Manny and Jane shared a look.
"S-sorry." Ellie said as she got the hint Emma didn't look happy about this conversation, "It's just amazing Jay really does seem like he's inlove.I mean, sex AND still dating?" she teased.
Emma tried not to smile, but it got out. Damn it. She was starting to like Ellie.
"He seems great to you." Ellie admitted.
Emma shifted a bit, wondering if Ellie cared at all or if Jay was just some dark phase of Ellies when she was second guessing her relationship was Sean.
"I kinda think I'm ready with Sean." Ellie admitted to the girls.
Manny stared in shock, "you HAVEN'T!?"
"you guys live together?!" Jane was also shocked beyond belief.
"Doesn't mean you should go straight to having sex." ELlie taunted them.
Emma kind of respected that and nodded, sharing a small smile with Ellie. Crap.. she was beginning to like her.
Ellie took a deep breath, "Me and Sean? This is probably the worse our relationship has gone"
"Yet, you're ready to let him take your.." Drifted Manny.
Ellie nodded, smiling slightly, "We're in a rut, for now..won't last forever. Him sticking around just shows me he at least deep down really cares. Has to be love if we can fight without breaking up."
Manny slowly glanced to Emma without Ellie noticing, sharing a look. It could be true.. I mean, Emma began to think about it.. how many times did Sean say he was going to rat her out to Jay and break up with Ellie?
Emma suddenly sat fully up and her eyes widened. Maybe this could work.. maybe she can make Sean realise he could stay with Ellie and still be inlove with her even after everything. Couples had BAD times as much as good times.. nothing was perfect. Maybe if she got Sean to realise that Ellie really is the girl he's meant to be with, he won't screw everything up for her.
"Be right back." Emma told them and got up, running off.
Sean had split up from the guys in the lake who were swimming, and walked to the shore to their cooler with the beers. As he cracked one open, Emma came running over breathless.
"Save it." he said, turning and rolling his eyes thinking Emma was here to beg him not to rat her out to Jay.
"Sean, wait!" Emma exclaimed.
Sean huffed, but turned.
Emma took a deep breath, "Ellie is.." she drifted off wondering how to tell him.
Sean looked at her questionablly. Ellie's what? He glanced the way the girls were on the dock, just laying down. His red headed girl friend was laughing in the distance to whatever Manny was saying.
"She's inlove with you." Emma confessed.
Sean snickered, "No she's not." he gulped his drink, "Good try though." he turned and Emma ran infront.
"Sean, she wants to give you her ..." her eyes tried to signal him, but he wasn't getting it.
Ugh! For such a charming heart throbber to some girls, he was kinda clueless.
"Virginity, Sean!"
He spat his beer a bit out, and swallowed the rest down before he flushed to then gaze back at Ellie, and shocked, back at Emma.
Wait...
"That means her and Jay never went that far." Emma whispered. . trying to make him understand it wouldn't be so bad if they tried to work it through.
His face then went stone cold, "I don't care, it's over. She screwed up and I'll never look at her again the way I did-"
"Oh no?" Emma shot back sarcastically, "You are so obsessed with this 'ruining Jay' thing, that you haven't understood the fact it's all for Ellie.. it was never about me or you, not even just about your revenge on Jay either. You're heartbroken over Ellie doing what she did to you. ." Emma took a deep breath, and Sean seemed to soften a little, "And I can't do it anymore, I'm tired of lying. Jay should be told tonight about the whole set up and we should really just go our separate ways."
Sean's eyes seemed to blink, snapping out of Emma's actual good speech that was giving him a slight change of heart, but when a shadow went over her that he NOW noticed.. was Jay standing behind, who looked like he heard the whole thing.
"He knows now." muttered Sean a bit sorry like, passing Emma a look.
Emma froze.
"What set up?" came Jay's voice behind her and she slowly turned and whirled around to face him.
Oh god, he was glaring right down at her, a mix of pain, anger and even betrayl in his eyes. He started glancing madly over her shoulder at Sean, "What fucking set up?" his glare down at her now was reminding her of the old Jay and just held pure anger and she flinched a bit.
Silence.
"'Ruining Jay'?" he repeated, wondering what the hell that meant and stepped closer to Emma, "You were part of something that was suppose to ruin me? Hurt me?" he looked so hurt right now, like they had done it and Emma was not once little bit happy.. .. she wanted to die.
Emma's heart was shredding to pieces as she tried to explain but then an audience began to come over.. their friends must of heard Jay shouting.
Emma began to fight the tears and she cried up to him, "It's not like that." she stepped forward and he stepped back like she was fire and stared at her in disgust.
He repeated the conversation in his head..he didn't mean to come eavesdrop, he just had this gut feeling not to allow Sean to go near Emma. The words' ruining Jay' and 'Ellie doing what she did to you' began to make sense and he pieced it together.
He snickered, looking a bit, out of it. The friends even gave wierd looks. . was he okay?
"What's going on?" Ellie asked them, and Jay had his back to them as he faced Emma, but Emma and Sean looked over his shoulder and Emma swallowed the lump in her throat. Now Ellie was going to know..
Jay madly locked eyes with Emma, his eyes so cold, as he answered Ellie, "Cameron seems to know you threw yourself at me a few months ago at the ravine."
The friends' eyes widen, glancing at Ellie who went completely red and opened her mouth. She felt so humiliated, and sorry. Tears worked to her eyes, "Sean-"
"Save it." he snapped but could feel his heart pounding and ripped painfully. Ellie began to cry too.
"don't worry." Jay spoke up again, glancing back at Ellie and then to Emma who closed her eyes to let a tear drop by how hatefully he looked at her, "The whole payback was against me, not you." he eyed her, feeling his gut turning and his chest caving in, "What was the plan? Are you cheating on me with him?" he asked
"No!" Emma cried.
"Jay." Manny stepped forward.
"shut up." Jay's friendlyness towards Emma's friend was now totally washed away. His eyes looked so empty. This wasn't Emma's Jay.
Sean looked between them, and couldn't believe how hurt both looked...fuck, they really were inlove. He began to feel guilt. . good fucking timing he had at that. He cursed himself and stepped forward.
"Wasn't like that." Sean spoke up
"Wasn't asking you!" roared Jay and even Emma jumped and yelped a little when he grabbed her arm, "What then? You had to of hurt me somehow right? Tell me how!"
"Jay!" Jane now yelled, stepping forward but Spinner held her back. Ellie turned and went of running, tears streaming down her face.
Emma shook a bit with tears as he then slowly let go and looked like he got it now, "I said it, didn't I? Yesterday.." he drifted off, bitterly snickering again, "How could a guy like me get a girl like you?"
Emma looked down, ashamed, because he did get it now.. but that was the old Emma! She never wanted to be that Emma again.
He nodded, seeing her reaction showed him he got it perfectly, "You were just dating me for fun and laughs, then you were gonna what? Hurt me, leave me... " he looked at Sean in disgust, "Go back to your boyfriend and remind me girls like you didn't date guys like me?"
"Jay, that's not the whole story." she cried and begged him to speak-
The heartbreak stung in his eyes,, "You wanted revenge? Get ol Jay back for everything in the past? Break me down?!" he began to shout again and Emma choked on her words and he nodded, both hearts breaking sorely.
He kept nodding, looking down and clenched his jaw and fists
"Well congratulations." he told Emma with a snicker, glancing at Sean and back at her, stepping closer, "You did it." he whispered
Emma sniffed and looked up at him with her tearry brown eyes, looking so broken down herself as he backed away from her.
He spoke up so their audience could hear as he locked eyes with her again, "You may of snuck this one past me, and bravo... but all those times I said I loved you?" he swallowed hard, "never meant it."
That's it, Emma could feel herself swallow her heart down into her gut and she wanted to puke, cry... die.
"And at least I got something from this too." he snapped, raising an eyebrow, "You're nothing but damaged goods now. Another one of Jay Hogarts flings that was de-virginzed.. ruined."
Emma's skin began to crawl and she looked at Jay like she had no idea who he was. Where was her Jay? She wanted to collapse and just cry right there.
Manny glanced to Jane who shook her head no. That wasn't true. Jay did love Emma, and he never wanted to steal her virtue, she gave it to him and he had even tried to resist if not for her practically demanding him to, and couldn't the idiot realise she still fell inlove with him despite the plan? She gave him her damn virginity! They weren't suppose to end like this..
"Your just another trophy." Jay said.
Emma turned, she couldn't do it anymore, and she walked back to the site numbly.
Jay stood there, watching her go with hard eyes and an unreadable look.
When Emma turned down a path and out of site, she bursted into tears, covering her mouth and stopped to fall on her knees. Her hear t twisted and yanked back and forth in pain and it wouldn't stop. She wanted to go, leave.. never look at Jay again. She felt broken, lost, hurt, and even betrayed by him also. Was it true? did he really only want her virtue? Did he really NEVER love her? Not once?
Meanwhile back with Jay, he also numbly stared where Emma left until Sean stepped forward, "It wasn't her plan-"
SLAM!
Manny, Jane, Spinner and Lucas' eyes widened. Nobody had ever seen someone swing at Sean or knock the guy to the ground..and Jay just did it.
Sean looked up from the ground, putting his hand to his nose and looked down. Blood. He cringed in pain and looked back up.
"We're even." Jay spat, and then literally spat near the ground Sean sat on , "And we're done."
"Fine with me." growled Sean,"Hurts doesn't it? Girl you love breaking your heart? All with the help of your best friend."
Jay's eyes went cold, but he said nothing and turned, walking off.
