Chapter 21

After a great weekend Taylor wasn't really in the mood for going to school.

"Come on Taylor, time to get up" Rachel said whilst stroking the girls hair

"Please can I just have five more minutes?" Taylor begged

"You've been saying that for the last half an hour, now come on up"

"Fine"

Taylor dragged herself out of bed and began to get dressed, before going down downstairs for breakfast.

"Morning. Did you sleep alright?" Eddie asked whilst holding Daisy in his hands, who was sucking his finger

"Not too bad thanks" Taylor replied getting some cereal out of the cupboard

Whilst Taylor was eating her breakfast her stomach began to really hurt. She was going to tell Rachel or Eddie, but knew they would think she was making up because she didn't want to go to school.

"Bye you two, hope you have a good day" Rachel said before Eddie and Taylor left to go to school

Whilst in English with Budgen, Taylor began to wish she'd told Eddie or Rachel about her sore stomach because it was really hurting now. At least they would have given her some painkillers or something.

"Sir, please can I go to the toilet please?" Taylor asked

"I suppose so" Grantly replied in his usual miserable monotone

Taylor went into the loo and noticed all of the blood on her underwear. She began to get a bit worried because she didn't have any pads on her, as she'd forgotten to replace them, and she had PE next. In the end she used some tissue and hoped for the best.

Once the bell went Taylor walked with her best friends to PE.

"Are you alright Taylor? You've been really since you got here this morning" Olivia asked

Taylor told the two of them what was wrong but obviously they couldn't help her out because they hadn't started their periods yet.

"Miss, please can I be excused from PE today?" Taylor asked one of the PE teachers once they were in the changing rooms

"Why?"

"I've got a really bad stomach ache"

"Have you got a note?"

"No, because it wasn't sore until I got to school"

"I'm sure you can manage, we're only doing gymnastics anyway"

Taylor sighed knowing there was no way she was going to get out of it before going to get friends. She seriously hoped she wasn't going to leak.

As she hadn't participated very much during the lesson Miss Cook decided to pick on Phoebe and Olivia to show their routine to the rest of the class at the end of the lesson.

"Do we have to Miss? My stomach's still really hurting" Taylor protested

"Yes, now come on"

Reluctantly she walked to the mats at the front of the hall with Olivia. It wasn't long before everyone started to laugh. Taylor didn't notice to begin with, but when she looked down she saw that the blood running down her legs and a big red patch on her shorts. She'd never felt so embarrassed.

Quickly, she ran out of the hall and into the changing rooms and began to get changed. Tears started to run down her face because she felt so embarrassed.

Once she was changed she went up to see her Dad in the office.

"What's wrong?" Eddie asked after seeing his daughter's tearstained face

"I'm really not feeling well Dad. Please can you ask Mum to come and pick me up?"

"Of course I can. What's wrong with you?"

"I've got a sore stomach"

Eddie phoned Rachel who took a little while to arrive as she had to get the twins all ready to go out first, and travelling with babies is never a quick thing.

Rachel walked into the office, pushing the pushchair, and saw how upset Taylor looked.

"You ready to go home darling?" Rachel asked. Taylor nodded before picking up her bags and walking out to the car with Rachel.

"Your Dad said you're feeling a bit poorly"

"Kind of. I've got really bad period pains"

"Oh have you, I didn't know you'd come on"

"Neither did I until I got to school"

When they got home Rachel got Taylor some painkillers and a hot water bottle. Rachel hadn't told Rachel about what happened in PE yet because she was so embarrassed. But then she realised that she was going to have to tell her because her PE shorts were covered in blood.

She went and got her PE kit and handed it to Rachel. Rachel saw the tears starting to form in Taylor's eyes.

"Sweetheart, what's wrong?" Rachel asked

"I leaked onto my PE shorts and everyone saw" Taylor replied as Rachel pulled her into her chest and rubbed her back.

"Don't worry. These things happen sometimes; everyone will have forgotten about it by tomorrow"

"No they won't" Taylor said sounding sorry for herself

"Well even if they haven't I'm sure they won't say anything to you, it's all girls in your PE class isn't it?"

"Yes"

"There then, they'll understand. Do you want to go and change out of your school uniform whilst I put some washing on?" Rachel suggested

It was soon time for the twins to bed fed. Taylor held Jack for Rachel because he was getting a bit grizzly waiting for his turn to fed. It was really nice for Rachel to have some help. Usually if they were both hungry at the same time she would have to either try and feed them both at the same time or let one scream.

Once they had been fed they both fell asleep, much to Rachel's relief. It was unusual for them both be asleep at the same time; usually it never seemed to work out.

"What do you want to do whilst they're asleep?" Rachel asked

"Could we do some baking?" Taylor replied as her stomach was now feeling a lot better

"That sounds like a good idea to me"

They both went into the kitchen and made some butterfly buns. Between them they'd managed to mess up the kitchen considerable, but they didn't mind because they had fun clearing it up together anyway.
