The Couple in the Railcar

The ticket inspector, his nametag reading Japp in gold letters, clicked his punch and smiled through his greying mustache at the couple.

The dark fellow had his arm curled protectively around the woman's shoulders, her head against his collarbone. Her warm breath stirred the black locks that framed his narrow cheeks. They were surrounded by royal purple shopping bags from the Moroccan Market.

The man raised one eyebrow in challenge, cuddling the woman closer. She purred in her sleep, her honey colored hair tumbling forward as she nestled nearer her companion.

"Young love," Japp sighed, moving into the next compartment.
