The next time Greg woke up, he had a much better feeling than the last time. His tiredness was at least for now away; he didn't felt dizzy and his vision was clear. However, the pain of his injuries was still present. He knew that this won't change very soon. He still had the memories of the beating in his mind and knew that it will take some time until it would heal.

He heard someone snoring when he woke up. Greg looked around and saw Nick, now in his normal clothes, sleeping in a armchair beside his bed.

Although the last four days were like hell, he felt finally something like peace. Nick's snoring was somehow calming him down; he feared that he would wake up alone, since he wasn't sure if the team really didn't blame him for his weakness. It seemed like the others, including Nick of course, never lost their self-confidence. And no matter how often they will assure him that he wasn't, he still felt pathetic. Canham had done with him whatever he wanted. He had couldn't no choice but let him do. He knew that Nick had try to protect him, and Greg didn't do anything. It was funny that Nick on the otherside seemed to feel the same. Greg looked at his friend who was still sleeping and thought that he'll make sure that he assure him not to think like that.

Suddenly, he heard him moaning coming from Nick himself. He murmured something that Nick couldn't understand and had a strange expression on his face like he was in... fear?

"Nick, wake up..." Greg tried and turned his body around to the amrchair where Nick was lying. Probably he just needed some rest, but it was obvious that he had a bad dream and Greg didn't want to sleep anxious.

However, Nick didn't woke up and his murmurs got louder... and more scared.

"NO" Nick suddenly screamed out loud. Greg was shocked by his scream and wanted to touch Nick in the hope that it would make wake him up. In this moment, Nick opened his eyes anyway and looked around, like he was in panic.

"Nick, it's okay, you were having a nightmare..." Greg said, but his voice fainted as Nick looked at him like he was a ghost. What is wrong with him?Greg wondered worried.

"Greg..." Nick said with a shaking voice. He seemed to have realized that he wasn't dreaming anymore and took his right hand. "I'm sorry... since when were you awake?"

"I just awoke myself." Greg said and took a deep breath as he felt Nick's trembling hand. "Nick, are you okay?"

Immediately, his elder brother took his hand back and rubbed his eyes.

"Yeah, you know... just a bit tired."

Greg didn't believe him. Nick was an awful liar. And Greg knew Nick well enough by now that he definitely wasn't feeling well.

"Nick, I know that you are lying. And you don't have to tell me, it's okay... you know, I'd understand if you wouldn't speak to me after..."

Nick looked at him with big eyes as Greg's voice was getting lower and interrupted him. He knew what Greg was going to say. And it wasn't his fault. Not at all. Nick wished that Greg would just believe that there was really no reason for him to feel guilty because it was him being weak. He had caused the cuts, and he couldn't prevent Canham from hurting him even more.

He'd always blame himself.

"Greg, just stop right here, okay!" Nick said and took his hand again. "I know what you want to say, and please, don't even think about it. I told you, you are strong, and whatever made you think you are not... trust me, nobody believes that. It's just..."

He stopped. He wasn't sure if he should tell him. He was having nightmares ever since the rescue and wasn't sure if they would ever go away.

"What is it, Nick?" Greg asked concerned. He really hoped that Nick'd finally tell him the truth. He just wanted him to feel better.

Nick hesitated, but then he opened his mouth. "I... You know, I just felt guilty and weak that there was nothing I had done to get us out... Actually, it was you who rescued me from Canham hurting me. And I'm your elder brother... you know, I'm the one who should protect you, as a family member but also as your supervisor. I failed..."

"Nick!" Greg interrupted him. This wasn't what he expected. He'd knew that Nick felt guilty, but it wasn't like he wished that he actually did. He felt even more horrible now that he'd spoken the words.

"Please, you really don't have to feel like that... You've done just a great job, as a brother and as a supervisor." Greg said and looked in his eyes.

Nick finally looked up to him and smiled.

"Really?"

"Yeah, really." Greg smiled back. "So can we just make a deal? I'll stop thinking that I'm... weak or something. And you'll stop feeling guilty, alright?"

Nick felt like a feather. He was glad that Greg had the ability to always say the right words.

"Deal. Oh and Greg?"

"Yeah?" He was curious of what his friend was going to ask him.

"You still have to tell me where you're hiding your Blue Hawaiian."

Greg grinned. Never.

"You know, you are a CSI... so I think you can find it on your own, can't you?"

Nick laughed softly. "Well played, Greg. Well played.
