Part Twenty-One
Kori didn't stay asleep long there was a knock to her door. She turned on her bed and looked at the door for a few moments before she got up and put some clothes on. She walked over to her door and opened it up to find a servant.
"Yes?"
"Sorry your majesty but there is someone on the communications line for you," the servant said bowing.
Kori nodded her head to the servant as she walked out of her room and headed down to the communications room. She entered the room and didn't look at the screen to see who it was, she looked at the people in the room, "You may leave."
The people in the room looked at her for only a few seconds before they got up and left the room. After they were gone, Kori walked over to the chair and took a seat. She looked up at the screen and saw Richard.
"Hey Star how are you?" he asked.
Kori looked over his looks for a few he looked tired to her, "I'm fine. You look tired."
"I'm fine don't need to worry about me. Are you sure you're okay."
"Yes I am fine. I promise. Besides my sister will make sure I am well while she is here."
"Kom came up? How long is she staying?" he asked
"You didn't know. Cyborg gave her one of the smaller ships so she could bring Seth here. I am not sure how long she is staying up here really."
"It would be nice if she could stay for the next few months with you," Richard said to her.
Kori was quiet for a few, "It would be nice if you were here… I miss you."
She wasn't looking at him but she heard him sigh, "Kori, I can't come."
She looked up at him, "Why?"
"You know why."
"I've been here for four months and Cyborg said all you've been doing was staying in your study. I think it's safe enough for you to come here for a few."
"Kori its not," he said.
She was angered by his response she was feeling lied to and alone at the moment she stood up when she responded to him, "I don't want to hear that Richard. I want you here with me and if you can't be because you don't want to then don't contact me again unless it's to tell me you're coming," she stated firmly and then hit a button with her hand and the feed cut out. She looked at the black screen for a few before she sat back in the chair and put her hand to her eyes as she started to cry. She stayed in there until the sun came up. She left the room after that, walked out onto a balcony, and let the sun wash over her skin.
"You're up early," her sisters voice came from behind her. Kom walked to the side of her and looked at her sister for a few, "What's wrong."
"I spoke to Richard for a few."
"Doesn't seem like it went well."
"I yelled at him told him not to contact me unless he was coming here… I feel alone Kom, I miss him, I don't want to do this alone."
Kom placed her arms around her sister, "You won't be alone sis. We will stay here as long as you want."
"You don't have to Kom," Kori said looking at her sister.
"I want to and his company can run by itself for a few months without him. Now let's go inside I'm starving."
Kori and Kom walked inside and into the dining room where the other two where. They took a seat and began eating there food.
"My princess there are some papers that need your attention today before you have your child."
"I'll get to it Galfore don't worry."
"Come Galfore, Kori should relax not stress about papers."
Kori smiled and shook her head at her sister, "It's fine Kom. I will be in the room if anyone needs me." Kori got up and headed into the royal study where she was working on papers. That was how she spent her entire day well into the night. She was trying to get all the papers done. She was looking over a document and leaning back in a chair. She felt the pain in her side she sighed lightly and placed her hand on her stomach rubbing it slightly and could feel her baby kick again. She was reading the document and read over it a few times before she placed it on the table and put her signature on it. The door to the room soon opened.
"Kori it's late you have plenty of times to get those done," Kom said as she walked over to the table.
"I just want to get it done. Besides it helps me not think about Richard."
"Sleep will also help Kori."
Kori looked at her sister for a few before she got up and walked out of the room with her sister. Kom walked Kori to her room and once at Kori's room Kom gave her sister a kiss on the cheek then left to go to her room.
That night didn't help Kori with how she felt about the situation between Richard and her. She couldn't sleep and after a few more hours of trying to sleep she got up and headed to the communications room and let everyone leave like the night before. She put in a code and hoped that someone would pick up. Someone did pick up a tired Cyborg did.
"Kori do you realize what time it is?" Cyborg asked as he yawned
"I am sorry to have wakened you," she said lightly.
"What's up Kori."
"Was wandering if you and the others wanted to come to Tamaran?" she asked him.
Cyborg was quiet as he looked at her for a second, "We possible could for a few days."
"I would much love it if you could," she said to him.
Cyborg nodded his head to her, "Go to bed Kori we'll see you soon."
"Bye Cyborg," she said and ended the call. She went back to her room and went to bed.
The next few days she was spending on working on the papers that Galfore wanted her it finish. She was finishing a paper up one day when there was a knock to her door. "Come in," she said as she was looking over the paper. A person entered the room but she didn't look to see who it was. "Princess there is a ship arriving."
Kori then looked up at the person and put the paper down as she got up from the desk. She walked the halls and then walked outside where the ship would land. She watched as the ship came in and landed a little ways in front of her. She watched as the doors opened and then three Titans came out. Kori gave her friends a smile as she looked at them, "Welcome."
"Hey Star how are you?" Beast Boy asked as they got closer.
"I'm fine, just working on papers."
"Sounds fun," Raven said sarcastically.
Kori didn't have time to say anything else as Kom came over to where they all where, "Hello everyone. What Richard didn't come?" she questioned as she placed her hands on her hips.
"Um," Beast Boy started as he put his hand on the back of his neck and rubbed it slightly.
"He was out of town," Raven said plainly.
"Sure," Kom said skeptically, "Well come in lunch is being served." Kom then turned and headed inside.
"She seems a little in control right now?" Beast Boy stated
"Just of the small things like dining and that. Her and Seth are going to stay for a while," Kori said to them then added, "Well come in."
The three-followed Kori into the dining room and took a seat at the table they ate in silence for a few, "How's Tamaran been?"
"Good," Kori said, "how's Earth?"
"It's good," Cyborg answered.
"How long are you staying?" Kom asked
"Only a few days," Cyborg said, "Can't stay away long."
"I'm glad you came it means a lot to me," Kori said.
