"You ready to go" Gabby asked Matt as she walked into Matt's hospital room
"Yeah." Said Matt "let me grab my discharge papers then we can go okay"
"Sure" smiled Gabby
Dr. Baker walked in the room "well Mr. Casey everything is looking good. I want you on bed rest for at least two weeks to rest up those ribs of yours okay?"
"Yeah no problem doc" said Casey
"Good. Here are your discharge papers and I hope to never see you again or at least for a while." Said Dr. Baker. She shook Matt and Gabby hand before heading out to check on other patients.
Matt filled out the papers before turning to Gabby. "Ready"
She nodded and they headed out to Gabby's car.
"So do you want to stop by the firehouse for a little while?" Gabby asked as she started the car.
"That sounds good. Do you work today?"
"No I took the day off I work a double tomorrow so Antonio said he'd come hang with you if that's okay with you?"
"That's fine with me. Maybe I can get some information out of him about you when you were child" Matt joked
Gabby lightly punched his shoulder "do that your sleeping on the couch" Gabby retorted
Gabby pulled up to the firehouse she put the car in park and her and Matt got out and headed into firehouse 51.
Capp was the first one to see the two of them
"Lovebirds in the house" he shouted as he got up and hugged Matt and Gabby
The rest of the crew came out and greeted Matt happy to see him doing well.
"How long you off work till Lieutenant?" Mills asked
"At least two weeks" Matt answered
Before another word can be spoken the bells went off, the men ran to their trucks leaving Gabby and Matt standing in the apparatus room
"You hungry?" Asked Gabby turning to face Matt
Matt's stomach growled "apparently I am" Matt laughed as he took Gabby's hand and they headed into the kitchen.

Two hours later some very tired and hungry firefighters walked into the firehouse
"Mills whats for lunch?" Asked Otis "I'm starving"
"Well go cook something then" Mills answered back he opened the door of the kitchen but stopped when he saw that Gabby was making sandwiches and soup
"Hey you guys hungry?" Asked Gabby as she placed a platter of steak sandwiches on the table. The men all nodded before rushing to the table and grabbing a sandwich and a bowl of soup.
"Whoa slow down there guys" Matt laughed as he watched the men eat the sandwiches
"It's like they haven't eaten in days" Gabby joked causing Matt to laugh a little.
Matt and Gabby visited for a little while longer before deciding that it was time to go home.
"You tired baby?" Gabby asked Matt as they walked into the house
"A little but I want to spend time with you" Matt said wrapping his arm around her waist and kissing her neck.
Gabby was enjoying what Matt was doing and she really wanted it to go further but she knew he just got out of the hospital and she didn't want to rush any thing and hurt him even more.
"Matt" she pushed away from him "I think we should take our time" Gabby said
Matt was upset but he understood where Gabby was coming from
Gabby saw that he was upset "I promise we can make love all week long as soon as you get the clear"
Matt nodded "can we cuddle"
Gabby smiled "I loved to" and they headed up to bed

"Hey Man" Matt said opening the door for Antonio and letting him in
"Hey, Gabby leave for work yet?" Antonio asked
"Yeah, she left thirty minutes ago" Said Matt he walked into the kitchen "you want a beer?"
"That would be great" said Antonio
Matt nodded and grabbed a beer out of the fridge he handed one to Antonio before grabbing one for himself and the two of them headed for the living room to watch the game.
"So how have you been feeling?" Antonio asked after a few minutes of silence
"Better. I mean I'm not 100 percent, but I am better than I've been in the hospital"
"Yeah. Gabby was scared when she called me she was hysterical she thought she was going to lose you."
"I could never imagine leaving Gabby. I love her too much"
"I know man" Antonio said clapping him on the shoulder. "I know I said this before but I'm really glad my sister is marrying you. You are the only guy I know that makes her really happy"
Matt smiled up at his soon to be brother in law. "Thanks man, I appreciate it I really do"
"Come here" said Antonio as he pulled Matt in for a man hug.

At the firehouse Gabby was in the ambulance doing inventory and laughing with Shay when Severide walked over.
"Hey" Severide greeted the girls
"Hey" Gabby and Shay said at the same time
"Dawson can I talk to you for a second?" Asked Severide
"Yeah, yeah sure" replied Gabby. She jumped out of the rig and followed Severide outside
"So whats up?" She asked
"How's Matt?" Kelly asked
"Um he's good yeah. My brother is with him right now" Gabby answered
"Good. Good, well I was wondering if I could drop by after shift and talk to him about the wedding and stuff like that."
"I don't see why not" said Gabby "I can hang with Shay for a few hours"
"Okay thanks Gabby" said Severide
Gabby nodded before heading back to the ambulance.
"What did Kelly want?" Shay asked as soon as Gabby stepped up into the rig
"Wanted to know if he can stop by and visit Matt talk about the wedding and stuff" said Gabby "oh and I'm hanging with you tonight for a few hours"
"Sounds good" said Shay "we can plan your bachelorette party"
"Ambulance 61-breathing difficulties west side street the dispatch went off
"Here we go" said Dawson as she and Shay jumped out of the back and headed for the front.

A/N hey guys here's the next chapter. I wanted to get this posted before I leave for my cruise to Bermuda Friday which is why after this chapter is posted the next one will not be posted till after I get back and also starting May 27 till June 30 I am taking an extra class at college for a prerequisite so I can take another class in the fall for my degree that being said I only have class Monday-Thursday so I will try to post as much as I can for both stories also I start back at work too in June.
