Chapter Twenty: New Visitor

Previously in Remind Me...

Deciding to ignore Willow, Amber turned to Tara. "How long have you been in Sunnydale? Your father and brother have been looking everywhere for you," Amber told her, frowning at the blonde.

"I-I-uh..."

"Tara, we should go," Willow said, trying to give the blonde a reason to not answer the question.

Tara looked over at Willow, and gave her a slight nod in understand. "Y-yeah, w-we r-really s-s-should," Tara agreed, giving Amber a forced smile. "So-sorry w-we have to r-run."

"Oh, it's cool. It was good to see you again, Tara," Amber said, smiling at the blonde as she started to walk off. Before Tara and Willow could walk out, Amber called out to her again and rushed to them, slipping a piece of paper in Tara's hand. "In case you ever want to talk or go out or something."

"Um...thanks," Tara whispered, before taking Willow's hand and walking out of the restaurant.

The two women walked in silence from the restaurant and down the street to the house for a long time before Tara finally spoke. "I'm sorry," she mumbled, not looking at the redhead.

"What? Why?" Willow asked, confusion and worry filling her at the same time.

"I-I r-ruined t-the d-date," Tara explained, turning her head slightly to see the redhead's face through her hair.

"What? Tara, no. You didn't ruin anything," Willow argued, taking Tara's hand in hers and stopping them on the sidewalk. "Baby, look at me."

When Tara listed her eyes to look at the redhead, Willow frowned at the fear clear in the blue eyes. "You have nothing to be sorry for, Tara. You didn't ruin our date. It was amazing, and everything felt incredible. If anyone ruined anything, it was me and my stupid jealousy of the waitress. You did nothing wrong," Willow told her, squeezing Tara's hand as she looked into the blonde's eyes.

"You didn't ruin anything either," Tara whispered, giving Willow her famous crooked smile.

"I'm glad," Willow replied before wrapping her arms around Tara and holding the blonde to her. "I missed this. I missed us."

"I wish I could remember. Us, this. I wish I knew what I use to feel for you. I wish I could look back at what we use to have and compare it to what we do have," Tara said softly, looking into the green eyes before her.

"You'll remember. It's just going to take some time," Willow promised, placing a kiss on Tara's shoulder.

"Hopefully it'll be sooner rather then later though," Tara replied, turning so that her face was hidden in Willow's neck. "It feels so natural being in your arms."

"I know. I feel the same way," Willow admitted, smiling as the feeling of soft kisses on her neck drew her attention. "If you keep doing that, I won't be responsible for my actions."

"Hmmm," Tara mumbled, before nipping at Willow's pulsepoint and causing the redhead's knees to almost buckle.

"Tara, we're out in the middle of the street at night. We should get home," Willow pointed out, tilting her head so Tara had better access.

"Mhmm," Tara acknowledge, though didn't stop the kisses she was lightly placing on Willow's neck.

"It's not safe out," Willow told her, her breath catching as Tara's lips brushed across her collarbone.

"You should really listen to your own warnings," a voice said, causing the two women to pull apart and turn to face the surprise visitor.

"Angel?" Willow whispered, staring at her best friend's ex-boyfriend in confusion. "When did you get back in town?"

"I just arrived. I was actually going to find Buffy. I needed to warn her about something," Angel explained, looking at Tara in confusion before turning back to Willow.

"A phone called wouldn't suffice?" Willow wondered, tilting her head in question at the vampire.

"It would, but I don't think 'end of the world' conversations should be discussed over the phone," Angel countered, giving the redhead a curious look.

"Oh, Angel, this is Tara. Tara, Angel. He's Buffy's ex-boyfriend," Willow explained, finally understanding the questioning looks she had been receiving from the pair.

"N-nice to m-meet you," Tara whispered, giving Angel a shy smile.

Angel nodded and gave her a similar expression. "So, you two are together?" Angel wondered, still confused about what he had saw just moments ago. He knew that Willow never started dating any new guys after Oz's death, but then again, he never knew Willow had changed teams.

"Yeah, um, kind of. I mean, we dated a little in college, and we still have feelings for each other. So, we're kind of testing things out right now. Plus Tara has amnesia and doesn't remember everything, and it'd be wrong to say where together until she gets her memory back, cause she might not want to be together when she remembers everything. And, oh goddess, what if you don't want to be with me? You left for a reason? What if you leave again?" Willow babbled, turning to Tara with a terrified look in her eyes.

"Sweetie, breathe," Tara whispered, giving Willow an amused smile. "I'm not leaving again. Even if I remember something I don't like, we'll talk about it. Alright?"

Willow nodded in agreeance before looking at Angel and giving him a sheepish smile. "Sorry," she said, looking down at the ground.

"It's alright, Willow," Angel told her. "So where's Buffy? I need to tell her what's going on before I head back to LA."

"Um...she's..."

"Right behind you," a new voice said, causing everyone to turn to face the blonde slayer.
