So everyone, I have recently come to a decision regarding this story. I have decided to put this story up for adoption from this point onwards. I know this will upset some of you (I didn't want to become one of THOSE authors), but this is my decision to make. I have sort of fallen out with this story, as I didn't have a plan beyond giving Luffy Zoan abilities. I hope that others will try this idea in the future and will take if farther and better than I could. Originally I had hoped to take this to the timeskip, and later I had hoped to at least get it to the end of the CP9 arc, but after several weeks of mulling over the next few chapters I realized I couldn't just produce the same somewhat shoddy work for what is arguably one of the best arcs in the entire One Piece story line. My enthusiasm for writing this story has completely dried out, and you all deserve better than what I can give you. Maybe someday in the distant future I'll try my hand at writing this again, but for now it will simply be another challenge story on my profile. I am also taking adoption requests if anyone is interested.

There are a TON of applications for Luffy having Zoan powers, and I sincerely hope someone decides to take up my offer on writing a story on it. It doesn't even have to be the Chimera Fruit, as there are literally an infinite amount of animals to choose from; from canon to noncanon, from real animals to mythical, there is no end to the possibilities. The only reason I'm putting this up for adoption is that I couldn't think of any more original content to put in, and just rewriting canon was tiring and boring. One person who has already taken up my offer on writing a Zoan powered Luffy is the amazing author Odin999, who made Luffy a Raiju Man. Please check out their stories! I would also like to take this time to thank RoseDragonWitch for allowing me to use her writings from Warm Memories and Brotherly Bonds to help me write most of my recent chapters. Now, here are some things I considered doing for future chapters for anyone who wishes to adopt this:

1. As pointed out by my good friend Dimension Distorter, Luffy could use his Zoan powers to imitate the CP9's Six Powers. His exact wording was;

Once Luffy see's the 6 Powers in action then he'll have certain animal forms that go hand in hand with each technique. I mean he DID learn Shave just by seeing it and then applying it to 2nd Gear. And if he went to being a Rabbit Man (RABBIT NARUTO!) He can use that technique along with Moonwalk, Finger Pistol and Tempest Kick. Being a monkey or another agile animal he can use Paper Art. Something with a shell or natural high defense can use Iron Body. Then after a while he can work to adding those moves into his arsenal if he chose to fight like a human. But being an animal would make the moves stronger once he got practice with them.

2. This idea isn't so much for this story idea as it is for other Zoan Luffy stories, but maybe Chopper could make Luffy his own personal Rumble Ball that gives him additional forms and powers. Said forms would be dependent on what animal he becomes, but that can be discussed later.

3. At Thriller Bark, Luffy will show when he fights Oars that he has learned to become an Awakened Zoan, being able to match the zombie for size and power. For Chimera Luffy, I had planned for the chimera form Luffy to show to just be his hybrid form while his full chimera form has yet to be seen, and that is the Awakened form that allows him to use all his animal powers simultaneously and gives him two extra heads (a goat and a dragon) like the chimera from legend has.

4. As for the Luffy/Boa Hancock pairing, this is purely optional but if one were to pick a pairing then please make it believable. The reason I chose Boa Hancock is I feel she's the only woman in One Piece to feel romantically involved towards Luffy. Most other female characters I think view him platonically as a friend or younger brother figure. No harems or yaoi or anything like that please, as while I respect that there are people who enjoy that sort of thing it just isn't something I'd like to see in my stories whether written by me or adopted. Also, please no gender-bending.

5. The Battle of Marineford can either go down like canon or Luffy can save Ace. I was personally going to do the latter but he'd be crippled by Akainu instead, which would encourage Luffy to get stronger still and wouldn't take too much out of future plotlines depending on how canon goes.

6. Finally, just make sure you have fun with it. One Piece is a largely lighthearted story, so there's no need to get all dark and gritty unless the situation calls for it. Sure, Luffy can be somewhat smarter thanks to having to fight differently and yes, he could be a bit more violent in his fights, but there's no need to make him some sort of cold-blooded super genius or something.

7. I will leave this story up for reference and in the off chance I decide to pick it up again in the future.

I hope you all can forgive me for ending the story like this, as it was one of the first I had ever written. My family is going on vacation next week and after I get back I plan on getting to the stories that my creativity really shines through, where I have more of the plot figured out. Also keep an eye out for more challenges that I post in the near future. Here's hoping this and more of my challenges get adopted.
