Hey guys!

So the 4 hour car ride turned into a 10 hour car ride D; There was a bad accident on the ONLY road to where I was going and the police were re-creating the scene to try and find out what happened I guess.

But WHATEVER! I wrote you guys a chapter! I hope you're ready for this one!

ALSO! Shout-out to Athenachild101 who told me that Kiera Cass is writing TWO MORE FULL SELECTION NOVELS! THANKS AGAIN, Athena!

Disclaimer: The Selection belongs to Kiera Cass. The characters are mine and, like always, Sayde comes from the mind of the wonderful Athenachild101

By the time I got back to my room, it was already late. Dawn was lying on my bed, fast asleep. As I shut the door, she jerked awake and, once she realized where she was, she jumped up. "Miss Lee! I-I'm sorry, I sat down waiting for you and I guess I must've fallen asleep-"

I waved her off with a laugh. "Oh, it's alright, really. Why don't you go and get some sleep?"

She paused for a moment before finally nodding. "Alright, Miss, but I'll be back later to check on you."

I rolled my eyes. "Yes, fine, okay, good night."

After she'd left, I collapsed on the bed, glad to get some sleep.

I had only gotten a couple of hours of sleep when I heard the door creak open. I lifted my head up. "Dawn? Is that you?"

It wasn't Dawn.

Kai's POV

I was fast asleep in bed was I was awoken by frantic knocking on my door. I groaned and rolled over. "Go away!" I shouted.

The knocking continued. The person started yelling. "Prince Kai! Prince Kai, please wake up!"

I sighed and rolled out of bed. I walked over to the door. I pulled it open to see one of Lee's maids. I think her name was Dawn, or something like that.

"What is it?" I asked, my annoyance seeping into my voice.

She looked panicked. "It's Miss Lee! I went to her room to check on her, and she's gone!"

If any part of me was still asleep, it wasn't anymore. My heart was pounding as I ran past her, dashing through the halls, running to Lee's room.

I burst open the door and my heart fell at the sight.

Her room was a mess. The shelves in her drawer were on the floor and it's contents were scattered. Her clothes were everywhere. "Lee!" I yelled, running from her room. I ran as fast as I could to Julian.

Julian's POV

It was around midnight when I heard someone slam open my door and run towards me.

I was up and out of bed, ready to fight, before I noticed that it was Kai. I growled at him. "What the hell are you doing here? I'm trying to sleep!" My annoyance was clear by the tone of my voice.

He ignored my question. He grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the door. "Julian, its Lee! She's gone!"

"What?" I said, running beside him now.

"Yeah, she's not in her room, and it looks like she put up a fight as someone took her.

"Okay, okay, maybe she's with Sam or Sayde. You go find Sam, I'll go to Sayde."

Sam's POV

I was sound asleep when I was woken up by the sound of loud knocking on my door.

I groaned. "Go away!" I called. "Its midnight! Is it to much to ask to get a good nights sleep?"

In answer, the door burst open, and Prince Kai came in. I immediately sat up and glared at him. "What are you doing here?" I demanded. I didn't give him the chance to answer. I snarled at him. "You have no right to burst into my room without my permission. I don't care if you're a prince, I still get my privacy."

Prince Kai ignored my outburst. "Where's Lee?" He demanded.

I glared at him. "In her room, sleeping, like I should be."

Prince Kai ran his hand through his hair. "No, she's not there. She's gone, Sam." He lowered his voice, and I could hear the grief in his voice. "She's gone," he whispered.

Sayde's POV

I woke up to Julian shaking me awake.

I shouted and jerked up. "Jules, what the hell are you doing here?"

Julian ignored my question. "Do you know where Lee is?"

I gave him a curious look. "No, I haven't seen her since she went off with Kai for her date."

Julian groaned. "Dammit, dammit. She's gone, she's actually gone. Di, someone took her from her room in the middle of the night, and no one can find her."

Lee's POV

I groaned as I awoke. I had a blistering headache, my body felt all bruised, and I didn't know where I was. I felt something metal biting into my palm. I looked down and realized that it was Jason's star pin. Suddenly, I remembered grabbing for it as the intruders had taken me. I gripped it tight, refusing to let go.

"Ah, your awake now."

I looked up and gasped. "Fiona?"

She smiled and walked up to me. "Now, Lee, if I untie you, can I trust you not to run off?"

I rolled my eyes and nodded. "It's not like I know where I am anyway."

She seemed to take that as a good enough answer, because she untied me. I jumped up right away and walked away from her, taking in my surroundings.

I was in a small room. It was nothing special, just four concrete walls, a roof, and a door. There were a few chairs all around, but other than that, there was nothing.

I gripped Jason's pin hard enough to cut into my palm, but I didn't care. "Where am I? Why are you here?"

"You're with the Northern Rebels. I'm part of them. We took you here because we need to talk to you. As soon as we're done, you can go straight back to the castle."

I guess my face must've shown my surprise at that last part, because she laughed and rolled her eyes. "What did you think we would do to you?"

I glared at her. I opened my mouth to say something back when my eyes caught on something. I gasped. "What is that?" I asked, my voice shaking.

She looked at where I was pointing. It was a pin on her shirt. She took it off and held it out to me. "It's a pin of the North Star, for the Northern Rebels."

I was visibly shaking now. I slowly uncurled my hand and looked at my palm. "Jason," I whispered.

She glanced down at my hand. She seemed to understand, because she simply nodding. "Yes, Jason was one of us. I was the one who had him join us. The Rebels were looking for someone that they could trust to make changes in the government if they won the Selection. They wanted to put me in, but Jason said that they wouldn't ever let a Six into the Selection." She said this bitterly, and I remembered that night in the treehouse.

She looked up at me. "Jason said that you would be the best choice. He said that you would sympathize with all of the lower castes and that you would be able to help us."

My eyes teared up at the thought of it. I wouldn't be in the Selection if Jason hadn't set it up. I wouldn't be with Kai, or Julian, or Sayde, and Sam would still be angry at me.

I rubbed away the tears angrily. "Okay, fine, I get it, but why am I here?"

She crossed her arms over her chest and observed me. "Because, we need you to understand what we've done for you." She paused. "We need you to know that we're counting on you to win."

She looked me in the eye. I simply nodded at her. "I have every intention of winning. I didn't need you to kidnap me just to tell me to try and win the Selection."

To my surprise, she smiled. "I guess it was a little rash, wasn't it?"

I laughed, and suddenly all of the tension was gone. "Yeah, just a little bit."

It felt like old times again, but suddenly my mood soured. "Fiona, what the hell am I going to tell them? I can't tell them the truth, that's for sure."

Fiona seemed to already have though this through. "Tell them that you were kidnapped by a couple of guys who wanted to kidnap you and use you for ransom. Tell them that there were only two of them, so you were easily able to overpower them."

I smiled at her. In any other situation, they'd never believe that I'd be able to overpower two fully grown men, but I'd learned to protect myself years ago, with my father.

Fiona looked down at her watch and sighed. "Its time for you to go. Come on, the castle's not very far from here. We have to walk."

Before we started walking, I paused. "Wait, Fiona, I need you to punch me."

She looked at me like I was crazy, so I explained. "My cover story is that I fought the men who kidnapped me, so if you punch me and give me a black eye, it'll be more believable."

Fiona hesitated before she nodded and took her stance in front of me. "Don't hold back, Fiona."

She didn't. I felt her fist connect with my face as a fresh wave of pain shot through me. I fell backwards, my hands cradling my face.

"Ugh, nice punch."

Fiona and I walked in silence. We walked for a solid half an hour when the castle came into view. Fiona stopped and turned to me. "This is where I leave you," she said.

We looked at each other for a moment. I held out my hand, but instead of shaking it, she embraced me in a hug. I hugged her back and smiled. "I'm sorry, Fiona, I really am. I would've come find you, I promise, but there was no time…"

Fiona smiled as we pulled away. "It's okay, Lee, I forgive you."

I smiled at her. "I'll see you soon, alright?"

She nodded. "Definitely. Good luck, Lee."

I waved goodbye to her before running off to the castle.

Right before I left the forest, I pick up a sharp rock and cut into my dress. I ripped the fabric, trying to make it look as if I'd been in a fight. Finally, once my dress was in pieces and my eye was nice and black from Fiona's punch, I ran into the field and screamed my head off.

"Help, someone help! It's Xyliah Smith! Someone help me!"

It wasn't long before there were about five guards running towards me. I recognized Red as one of them. He reached me first. "Lee! Lee, are you alright? Oh god, what happened to your eye? Are you hurt anywhere else?"

He didn't let me answer the question. He grabbed my arms and inspected them for injury. He spun me around and, once he was sure that I was fine, hugged me. I hugged him back, taking deep breaths. "I'm fine, Red, I'm fine."

He finally let me go. "Alright, come with me, I'll bring you to Prince Kai. He's been going insane, worrying about you."

He turned to the other men. "Go back to your stationed. I will escort her into the castle."

They nodded and ran back to their stations. Red and I walked into the castle in silence.

Finally, we reached Kai's door. Red knocked on it three times. The door flew open and Kai stood in front of me.

I gasped. He looked like a wreck. His clothes were wrinkled and his hair was messy. He looked exhausted.

"Kai!" I shouted as I wrapped my arms around him.

"Lee!" He hugged me back tightly, refusing to let go.

"Officer, thank you for bringing her here. You're free to go."

Red bowed to him before walking away.

Kai pulled me into his room and shut the door. We sat down on the edge of his bed, both of us refusing to let go of each other.

Finally, Kai pulled back. "Where were you?" He asked quietly.

I paused for a moment. What do I tell him? Can I tell him the truth? I searched his face. He seemed to understand what I was thinking.

"Lee, you can trust me. Tell me the truth."

I sighed. There was no way I could lie to him now.

I told him everything, starting with the day I found the star pin in Jason's room, to when he faked surprise when I was chosen, when I got his letter and the star, and finally, to who I saw today and what they said.

When I finished telling him, he was silent. Tears started flowing from my eyes. "Hey, Lee, why are you crying?"

I looked away from him. "Kai…I shouldn't be here. I wouldn't have gotten chosen if Jason hadn't set it up."

"Lee, look at me." He tilted my chin up, forcing me to look at him. "Lee, I don't care if you weren't supposed to be here. I'm thankful to your brother. If he hadn't done that, we wouldn't have ever met, and I wouldn't be able to love you."

I sniffled. "But…but what if there had been some other girl, instead of me. Someone that you could've loved more than me, someone who would be better suited to be a princess."

Kai wiped away my tears. "Lee, I love you. There's no one else for me, and there never will be. I love you, Lee, and I'll always love you."

I searched his eyes for some sign that he was lying, but there was none. I reached up and kissed him softly. He kissed me back, his hand resting on my waist. I wrapped my arms around his neck, and I lost myself in him.

o.O.o

The rest of the day was exhausting. I had to explain what happened multiple times to multiple people. The King and Queen believed my lie easily, but sadly, my friends weren't as easy to convince.

That's why Sam, Sayde, Julian, Kai, and I were crowded into my room. I sat on my bed with Kai and Sam on either side of me, and Sayde and Julian sat next to each other on the ground. They forced me to tell them exactly what had happened.

When I got to the part about Fiona, I made sure to leave out her name, but Sam saw through it. "Oh my god, it was Fiona, wasn't it?" When I didn't answer, she grinned. "I knew there was something up with her." I glared at her before continuing.

When I finished, Julian glared at me. "You know, next time, don't act so friendly around your guard friend, Red, I think his name was. If people think you're with him, it could cause some trouble. Being caught with a guard counts as treason, and treason is punishable by death."

I noticed Sam flinch beside me. No one else seemed to notice it, but my eyes narrowed. I'll ask her about it later, I decided.

I rolled my eyes. "Fine, whatever, but there's nothing going on between us, so it doesn't matter."

Kai looked down at his watch. "Well, it's getting late. We should all head back to our rooms. Lee's had a rough day, so she should get her sleep."

As they I got up, I grabbed Sam's arm. "Sam, wait, I want to talk to you."

She nodded and sat back down.

Kai turned to Sayde. "Oh, and Sayde, I probably should've done this sooner, but you're dismissed. There's no point keeping you on my list, since you're with Julian."

Sayde blushed, and Julian grinned. I simply shook my head and laughed they left.

The minute they were gone, I turned to Sam. "Alright, spill."

She gave me a curious look. "What? What do you mean?"

I glared at her. "We agreed not to keep secrets from each other anymore, and you seemed pretty bothered by the idea that you could be killed for being with a guard, so, spill. Is it Red?" I asked.

Sam paused before finally nodding. "Yes, but I swear, it hasn't been going on for long."

I sighed. "Sam…just, be careful, please. There's not much that Kai or Julian could do for you if you get caught."

Sam nodded. "I'll be careful, I promise."

She left me room, and I collapsed on my bed. If someone tries to kidnap me tonight, I swear to god I will kill someone.

So what do you think?

On my part, I think that this could've gone a lot slower. I wanted to make this into 2/3 chapters, but it wouldn't be long enough, so i didn't.

I hope to wrap this story up soon, which actually makes me really sad. I love writing this story, and I have no idea what I'm going to write next. Any suggestions? Tell me a book that you want me to write a Fic on, and I might just do it!

Remember to review :3
