Okay so this is a thunder comfort chapter, everyone needs to read a few of these (I know I have) but I didn't think I would do one myself, I mean there are a LOT of them out there so I didn't think it was necessary for me to do one but I was proved wrong when I got a request from Chelia24. Also thank you for all the wonderful reviews, they make me want to continue writing! Without further waiting here it is.

Oh wait, also I apologise for waiting almost a year to update this... But you know... I'm busy and such... plus... I'm lazy. I do have a chapter that's about half done. I've seriously been working on it for the past 6 months and I just can't get into it but I have no other ideas so please review a chapter idea if you have one

~PrincessNoodle

The time that Noodle had spent discovering herself between phase 1 and 2 had been good on her. No longer was she so short that regular T-shirts could be mistaken for dresses on her. No, she was a young teenager at 15 years old. And that came as a shock to 2D as he walked through the doors to Kong for the first time in 3 years.

He noticed her perfect English, long bangs and lack of radio helmet first. He also noticed her new clothes and height. He was a bit shaken up by the fact that she looked like a GIRL instead of Noodle. She had welcomed him in and they had talked about the last few years. Obviously they talked a lot, way into the night. During that time 2D noticed that she did things for herself. She could reach the tall cupboards herself to find the hot chocolate, she didn't need his help any more. She ran and got him things, instead of the other way around. He felt as if he was losing her, his little Noodle who had jumped out of a FedEx crate 5 years ago. His little Noodle who he needed to translate for (even though he wasn't so good at it). His little Noodle who he always watched cartoons with on Saturday morning. She didn't even call him toochi any more and instead opted to call him 2D like everyone else. She was growing up and it looked as if he was stuck in the past.

A look of concern washed over her face as she asked him if anything was wrong. He snapped back into focus and said nothing before she suggested going to bed to prepare for Murdoc's arrival the next day. It was nearing 3 in the morning so 2D agreed, but not before thinking about how responsible she had become.

He gave her a huge hug in which she greatly returned before they parted ways, herself to her room down the hall and him to his old room in the car park.

She lay in bed not being able to sleep. She hadn't wanted 2D to worry himself over her so she had done her best to be grown up. In truth she was terrified that he wasn't even going to show up. She thought that she was going to have to live at Kong all on her own because she can't make it on her own in the world at only 15. But he came. He didn't leave her but the thought of trapping him there just to be with her seemed selfish so she put on a show to help him think she was fine being alone.

Noodle curled the blankets around herself tighter as she heard rain start to pour down onto the studio.

In reality she had her left over Gorillaz money, but it had slowly depleted since 3 years ago. She had no education and no special skills aside from martial arts and musical aspects. No, she didn't have a plan, the only way was to get everyone back together in the band. After all, they were the only family she had.

A low rumble started in the distance and her ears pricked up. She sat on the edge of her bed with a thin blanket wrapped around her shoulders and looked out her window. The rain still poured down and the clouds had gone darker than before. She felt uneasy as she looked to her door. She heard another rumble, louder this time, and snapped her head towards outside once more before slugging another, thicker, blanket around herself and pulling her knees up to her chin. Then there was a large flash of light.

2D tossed and turned unable to get to sleep. He thought of Noodle, she was on her own for 3 years and of course she had gotten independent. She wouldn't be here if she didn't learn how to handle herself in the world, not that 2D wanted to think like that. He was just having a hard time coping that his little Noodle didn't need him anymore. The same thoughts kept whirling through his head since he first laid his eyes on this new Noodle. He heard rumbling and instantly thought back to a particularly bad thunder storm when Noodle had been 11. She had gotten so frightened that she ran to his room sobbing and speaking in very rushed Japanese. It had taken him an hour to calm her down and eventually she fell asleep curled up to him, holding onto his arm, and her face still stained with drying tears. He didn't bother carrying her back up to her room and instead decided to just fall asleep beside her.

He placed an arm over his face and could almost hear the fast paced light footsteps coming to find him again, scared of the storm. He doubted that would ever happen again, she was grown up and probably over a childish fear like that.

Suddenly there was a vicious pounding at the door and he ignored it, thinking it was the zombies before it began to grow faster. Zombies were never in time and his thoughts were proved right when an ear splitting scream synchronized with a crackle of thunder. He flew out of bed like a bat out of hell and reached his door in record time.

"TOOCHI!" He heard Noodle shriek in fear. He whipped the door open and was tackled into a tight hug. The girl sobbed into his chest and he was transported to that night where she had done the same thing.

He put a hand on the back of her head and started to comb through her disheveled hair. He quietly shushed her crying and expertly closed the door and walked with her still clutched to his chest. "It's okay, Noodle. No need ta worry abou' it, I'm 'ere wiff you." He sat her down on his bed but she refused to let go of him. He rubbed her back and her sobs quieted. When they stopped altogether she hugged him tighter.

"I'm sorry, 2D." Her voice was a whisper, but even over the thunder he could hear her.

"About what, little love?"

She grabbed onto him tighter, "I'm not grown up, I still don't know how to handle the smallest things and I still need help. I can't even stay by myself in a thunder storm." She began to shake and 2D knew she was crying again, though this time quieter.

He moved away from her and she let him go but kept her head bowed down. "Look at me Noodle." He said but she didn't. He placed two of his skinny fingers under her chin and gently pushed her head up. "There yew are." He smiled in a comforting way. Her face was red from crying and trails of tears were still going down her cheeks and she sniffled to keep her nose from running, but he didn't see any of that. 2D saw this scared little girl he's known for 5 years. He wanted to just hug and cuddle her. She was his little love. "Noodle, I don't care if yew're grown up. I want yew ta still be that little girl who ran around and bugged Murdoc 'alf ta death but got away wiff it. Yew've gotten older, but yew'll always be my little love."

He gave her a hug and she clung on for dear life. "I missed you, Toochi." She said as the next flash of lightening, and the loud roar of thunder came. She didn't jump or scream because she knew that Toochi would always be there for her.

Hope this is what you were looking for, most of the thunder comfort stories happen while Noodle is still young so I wanted to put a little twist on this chapter
