I woke up with a smile on my face remembering last night. I went downstairs and got a bowl of cereal ready. Mike joined me. "How did your date go? he asked. "It was so nice. We went out to dinner, walked in the park, and got cupcakes for dessert," I answered. "It sounds like you had a nice night. We went out to dinner too. I met a beautiful girl named Phyllis," Mike blushed. "That's great! I'm so happy for you," I exclaimed hugging him. "I have a date with her tonight. Will you help me?" he asked. "Of course. Are you going out for dinner?" I asked. "Yeah," Mike answered. "I would take her dancing, go out to dinner, and maybe end with a walk on the beach," I suggested. "That sounds great. Thanks," he exclaimed. "You're welcome," I replied.
I went outside to take care of the horses. I petted Sapphire and Duke. Something about Sapphire was different. Her stomach had a rounder shape to it. I ran into the pad. Davy, Micky, and Peter were eating breakfast. "Davy you have to come to the stables," I said breathlessly. He ran after me into the barn. "Sapphire looks pregnant," I told Davy. He went into Sapphire and Duke's shared paddock. Davy moved his hand over her stomach. "I think you're right," he exclaimed. Davy called the vet. "You're horse is pregnant and should give birth in 11-12 months. Pay extra attention to her diet, exercise her often, and put her in the grassy paddock during the day so she can graze easily," the vet instructed. He gave Sapphire some vaccines. "Thanks for everything," Davy and I told him. "You're welcome," he replied leaving the barn. "This will be so exciting. I wonder if the foal will be a quarter horse or a thoroughbred," I said. "It's hard to tell at this point but the foal will most likely have some of the other breed in his blood," Davy replied.
We lunged Sapphire and practiced jumping and vaulting with Duke. "Good work! You should be able to learn to do small jumps on him soon," Davy said. "Really? That's so cool," I exclaimed. We linked arm and walked to the pad. "You're just in time for lunch. We're having tuna salad sandwiches," Peter told us. "This is delicious," I exclaimed biting into a sandwich. "Thanks," Mike replied. After lunch, I helped Mike pick out flowers for his date with Phyllis. "How does this outfit look?" he asked holding up a pair of pants and a shirt. "That looks incredibly handsome," I answered. "Aw thanks," Mike replied squeezing me.
The telephone rang. "Hello?" I answered. "Is this Jennifer Nesmith?" a woman asked. I have to get used to having that last name. "Yes it is," I answered. "My company would like you to do a photoshoot modeling some of our new designs for girls your age along with an interview. Would you be interested?" she asked. "I'm interested," I answered. "That's great. Please come to our office tomorrow at 10:00," the lady instructed giving me the address. We ended the call. "What was that about?" Micky asked. "I got an offer to do some modeling and an interview tomorrow," I answered. "You're really front page news now," he grinned. "I hope I do alright," I said. "You'll do great. You're a beautiful girl. Plus, we can come with you if it makes you feel better," Micky suggested. "That would be great thanks," I replied. "The only thing you have to be careful about is not answering any questions that are too personal," he advised. "Okay," I replied.
At 5:30, Mike got ready to leave for his date. Davy gave him a few last minute tips. "Wish me luck guys," Mike said. "You don't need luck. She'll love you," I smiled hugging him. "Thanks," Mike grinned. "Do you guys want to go out for pizza?" Micky asked. "Yes," we exclaimed. We walked to a nearby pizza place and were immediately seated. We ordered a pepperoni pizza, mozzarella sticks, and sodas. The food was amazing. It was fun being able to hang out without being bombarded by fans. We played with a Frisbee on the beach after we ate. My life is finally falling into place.
