..so here we have a flashback..this was written before any Age of Ultron footage came out so their backstory are a little different..I didn't want to mess up the grammar and everything so pretend that the italic part is in Russian..also I don't have any medical knowledge and am making the effects up..enjoy and review..=))
Maria Hill didn't have many friends. She was the, so called, "Ice Queen" of SHIELD. She didn't really mind people calling her that because it meant that no one will bother her with stupid ideas. She was determined, especially now that she was standing in front of the interrogation room with Costra in it. Determined to find out what he did to Natasha. One of the very few people she actually liked and could call a friend.
"Well hello there." Costra said as Maria walked in.
"Your name is Eduardo Ricardo Costra. You are 40 years old, born on May 6, 1968 in Santiago, Chile to Antonio and Roberta Costra. You're divorced and have a son Pablo, who's just about to start collage. You have a degree in biology and are a leading arms dealer in bio-weapons. Now, what I would like to know is why you poisoned Natasha Romanoff and with what." Hill demanded.
"I've already told you. It wasn't me, it was Ivan Petrovich. He must have dropped something in her drink."
"Really, Ivan Petrovich did that? From where, his office in the Red Room?" Hill questioned.
"I'm telling you he was there." Costra insisted.
"Petrovich hasn't left Russia in over 10 years, so it's time to change your story."
Costra leaned in his chair and started to chuckle. "I have to say, the look on her face when she heard his name was something else. To see fear on the Black Widow, the deadliest assassin in the world, it's simply precious."
"We'll see how precious it will be when she visits you here soon."
"If you don't pull a magical trick, I doubt she'll wake up at all."
"And what is it that you gave her?"
"Just a little something I developed myself." He said proudly. "It attacks the hippocampus, where all our memories are stored, and causes so much pain that after a while the brain just shuts down. It also causes lung collapses but that's not that interesting."
Hill wanted nothing more than to punch him in his smug face but she kept professional and continued to question him.
"You know what I find interesting, your son. He is such a bright young boy, wanting to study law. It would be such a shame if he didn't get in and had to rethink his life."
"He has nothing to do with this. Leave him alone."
"Tell me how to heal her and he will be just fine."
"That's blackmail!" Costra exclaimed.
"No, we in the government call that leverage. Now tell me what I want to know or I will have to get mean." Hill smirked.
"You can't heal it, you can only ease her pain but she has to want to wake up on her own. All of the usual pain meds will help."
"How did you give it to her?"
"I wanted to put it in her drink but she figured me out and didn't drink it, so I had one of my men pinch her with a needle while they were fighting. It's powerful, so a small dose is enough. She couldn't have notice it until it was too late."
"That will be all for now." Hill closed the folder. "An agent will escort you to the cell and someone will come and question you later about the box." She informed him and left straight for Fury's office. On the way there she ran into Coulson.
"Find anything?"
"No way Petrovich or any of the Red Room agents were in Chile. You?"
"I now what he gave her and it's not good." She told him as he opened the door into Fury's office. Barton was already there.
"Tell me that ether one of you has something."
"It wasn't the Russians." Coulson informed.
"Fontani didn't see anything, ether." Clint told them and they all turned to Hill.
"He gave her some poison that he made himself. It attacks the hippocampus and causes the brain to shut down. We can give her pain meds but she has to wake up on her own."
"I'll call Gray." Fury asked as he was dialing. "Gray, it's a new poison with no cure. Pain meds should help but it's all on her." He informed the doctor. "How did he give it to her?"
"He tried to put it in her drink but she made him so one of his men stabbed her with a needle during their fight."
"Well then there is nothing left to do than wait for Romanoff to wake up. Barton, I expect your report tomorrow. For now go home and get some rest." Fury dismissed them.
They all left the office and Coulson pulled Clint aside.
"You're going to medical, aren't you?" Clint nodded. "Don't."
"Phil, she is in a coma. I have to go."
"Clint, right now all eyes are on you. Take Fury's advice. Go home and get some rest. I'll call you as soon if anything changes. You assured me that you can be professionals and won't get compromised. Well then show me."
"Fine, but the minute that something changes..."
"I will call you." Coulson finished and Clint left.
After convincing Clint to go home, Coulson went to medical to check on Natasha and talk to Grey.
"Mark how is she?"
"Not good. She is still in a coma and her brain activity is of the charts. It's like she is fighting some demons in her head."
"She probably is." Coulson replied.
"If someone told me a month ago that we would be standing here wishing for the Black Widow to wake up, I would have called them crazy."
"She is special that is for sure. Call me if anything changes." Coulson said and left.
"Natalia, Natalia wake up." Natasha opened her eyes to see her mother standing next to her bed. "Natalia we have to go. The house is on fire." She took her mother's hand and they got out of her room. The house was an inferno and she could hear screams.
"Mum where is everyone?" She asked with her voice trembling.
"Your father is getting your brothers out. We will all meet outside." Her mother reassured her. Just as they were getting down the stairs, the whole left side of the house collapsed.
"Mum where are they?" She cried.
"They are outside, I'm sure." Her mother answered with tears in her eyes.
A log fell down and trapped Natasha's mother.
"Mum!" She cried.
"Natalia you must go on, please."
"I'm not leaving you."
"Natalia you have to survive. Please promise me that you will always find a way to survive."
"No. "
"Natalia promise! You will always survive!"
"I will." She promised trough tears.
"Now go, get out before it's too late."
"I love you mommy."
"I love you too, sunshine."
