Author's Note
Well, it's been a whole year since I began the fic, and while I haven't really gotten much reviews, it's pretty amazing that a fanfic for such an obscure series would last this long. Of course, I'm still having fun with the liberties on making this feel like an actual anime show in terms of pacing and having ending and opening themes to go along with it. Not to mention raising the importance of the group. Hopefully, I can keep going with all this action fun. Well, without further ado, here's Chapter 20.
While her friends look on in shock of Akuto's return to the Academy, Keena maintains sight of him, without even a look of fear on her face.
"Why did he return? It's odd enough that he returns after the incident from the previous weekend…maybe he's heard through word-of-mouth?" thought Keena.
Akuto then spreads his arms open, "Fellow students, I won't harm anyone! I'm just here to see some old friends to greet them. Now…where's Keena Soga?" he said.
"Keena, I don't think we should meet eye-to-eye with him…it could be a trap." said Gavin.
"No…a hero like me should at least try to get a conversation even to the worst foes, regardless if it ends up on a fight…and yet, there's something a bit silly about this…" said Keena.
"That he's being oddly kind?" said Lily.
"No…I promised that I not only would talk to Akuto, but also Junko…"
"I think she's gone far off to the evil side at this point." said Michie.
"Either way, I'm still gonna try. Follow my lead, guys."
They then fly down as Keena and her friends walk slowly towards Akuto's direction.
"Akuto, look ahead." said Junko, pointing to the group.
"Would you look at that…" said Akuto.
As Keena approaches Akuto and Junko, she would only say the following in a serious tone; "Welcome back."

Episode 20: "Nothing's Ever Fun"
"Well, hello to you to, Keena. Kinda shocked you didn't hug me there." said Akuto.
"No. Way. I can still be silly with my friends, but with you? Those days are gone." said Keena.
Akuto first seems to be concerned, but then understands, "It's because you want to be tough, right?"
"I already am, and I'm sure that you can't deny it."
"Why not at least call me "A-Chan", for old times' sake? I won't complain this time, promise?"
Keena shakes her head, "You're kinda failing at dropping my guard."
"I think I can recall the last time that happened. Right, Junko?"
"I guess I was trying to target his heart, then." Junko joked, smiling.
"H-hey, Junko…look…I know you're siding with him, and believe it or not, I won't stop you on that, but…I just want to tell you that I'm very sorry…" said Keena, now sounding a bit somber.
Junko, for some strange reason, looks on oddly, "And what's your point?"
"I once had a dream…that I called quite mean things on you and…I regret saying how much of an enigma, how shallow-minded you and that you're a bitchy jackass. Well… I'm just really, really sorry for that…Apparently, I don't think we could ever be friends, but at least, maybe, we could at least bury the hatchet...and maybe you can even change your mind." Keena then raises her hand to offer a handshake. "What do you say?"
Junko looked at her hand for a bit as she then slowly cackles, then begins laugh evilly and crazily.
"Oh man, I'm really flattered! You could call me as many awful things as you want, but it's actually really endearing! I mean, friends with me?! I'm antisocial, don't you get it?!"
"Wait…that can't be right! You were popular here and—" said Lily before being interrupted by Junko.
"Oh, shut your whore mouth, Lily. You're still pathetic to me with the way you clung onto Akuto to kiss him for no real damn reason. I almost wanted to slice your so-called precious neck off."
"Guess I should add how lucky it was to feel them." said Akuto, joking a bit.
Lily gets enraged and attempts to punch the both of them, but Michie is able to stop her by hugging her from behind as much as she can, "Don't take their comments seriously, Lily, they're just screwing around with your head!"
Lily tries struggling free, "LET ME GO, MICHIE! IT'S BECAUSE OF THEM WHY WE CAN'T-"
Junko laughs, "Oh, squirm as much as you want, it's quite a sight to see. And by the way, Keena, thanks for the offer, but I'd rather be the bitchy jackass your dreams interpret me ass." she said with a cackle.
Keena gasps, "What happened to justice and honor?!"
"Don't you get it? This is justice and turns out, it's hunger for power! And if you're wondering about family, well, let's just say it's prevented me from said power!"
"You're freaking insane! Is this all because you hate Keena?!" said Gavin.
"You kidding? I just want to feel as strong as Akuto, don't you see?!"
Keena remains glaring at her for a couple of seconds, then saying, "I pity you."
Junko then changes her expression to a slight, angry-like look on her face. "What was that?!"
"You're not growing mad from power. You were embarrassed when you were a student here, so you're doing this to prove your own power, instead of thinking about it a bit better and not succumb to your supposed deep scars."
"Are you making fun…OF ME?!" said Junko as she draws her katana sword right to aim to the front of Keena's forehead, drawing a tiny bit of blood from it as Keena remains unflinched. "Last year, you were just a weakling, skipping class and embarrass yourself with your so-called naked teleportation! You were useless and full of damsel material! And that's the truth! The truth hurts, Keena! Cause all this glory and power is mine, all mine, all mine, ALL MIIIIINE!"
She then laughs in a very creepy and scary as hell manner, her face starting to look really deranged while also snarling
"Well, want to know what my version of the truth is, then? What I'm trying to say is, I think you've become a deconstruction of yourself! You realize that maybe, just maybe, instead of thinking of your life, you just gave up yours just because you felt inferior, which you never are or were! You decided to stuff it all down like if you were drinking liquor and just accepted it without a clue! And that's my tru-"
Junko quickly interrupts, screaming at the top of her lungs "NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO! NO!" she yelled as even her breathing is reaching to creeped out levels, "THIS IS NOT A JOKE! I AM NOT A JOKE! I AM NOT A JOKE! I AM SERIOUS! And you will not look past me, YOU FUCKING BITCH!"
Once again Keena is undeterred, although in her mind, she's concerned, "This is not the same Junko from before…it's her, but…somehow, she's suddenly nutso…but why?"
"I can't tell if this is cartoony or just freaking terrifying, guys…" said Kanna.
"I don't think that this is a joke, Junko. I'm not smiling, nor I'm laughing…so you know, I'm taking you seriously, Junko Hattori. Dead serious, Junko. Even if you're in the way to protect your husband, I would beat you, and then beat him. Understand that?"
Junko slowly somewhat calms down, although shades of her intensity are still shown.
"Guess you could say that. How about that guy next to you, though? He a comrade of yours?"
"Me, huh? I'm Keena's future husband, Gavin Miranda! If you want to get through her, you gotta get through me!"
Junko laughs a bit crazily, "Killing you might be worth Keena's eventual suffering. I think I'll enjoy that!"
"Not now, Junko, there's tons of time for this. By the by, though, Keena, why such the rough treatment?" said Akuto.
"Hm, you do know I'm the real hero to kill you, right?"
"I'm aware. And guess what? Junko tried and failed, not that destiny was on her side. And guess what, either way, you might end up with me, too."
"Like hell! You're not sabotaging me and Gavins lives, and I'm sure as hell that we'll have Lily and Michie together for reals!"
A cackling, noblewoman's laugh is heard from afar, revealed to be from Fujiko, "Oh, I couldn't help but laugh at you all trying so hard to sound threatening."
"What is she still doing here?" said Junko.
"Oh, I stayed undercover, and little do you know that I actually beated Keena and her friends once. In fact…that was yesterday!"
Keena and friends just look on in slight question, although still non-deterred.
"You trying to help me out again, Fujiko? I've been handling myself well, thank you very much." said Akuto.
"Ironically, I was supposed to use you when you're officially Demon King, but I got flattered too easily and lost so much of my edge, that I thought I would need plastic surgery." continued Fujiko.
"Hm, you had an edge in the first place? I bet you haven't thought it yourself." said Junko.
"Silence, Junko. By the way, if you think you're the Demon Queen, you're absolutely wrong. I am the real Demon Queen!"
"This just gets crazier every minute…" said Michie.
"I don't even need to clarify why I think I'm the true Demon Queen! Junko, sure, you now have your unethicalness slowly building, but if you once fought for justice, I think I can say for everyone here that your past is still stuck in your flawed heart!" said Fujiko with a boastful laugh.
A majority of the students are heard still mumbling how Fujiko was evil all along and how they got swept up by another student in disguise.
"And to prove that, if this ends up totaling the Academy again, so be it, not like I care! Also, it seems I'm not the only one here in this "reunion"".
She then points up as a rain of arrows crowd the sky. Akuto and Junko fly up to take the arrows head on as Junko slices the arrows and Akuto makes a fireball, blowing some of them while Keena shouts "Duck!" as she quickly casts a barrier spell to protect all of the students as they're ducking from the remaining arrows, while Fujiko casts a spell to prevent the arrows from even hitting her as she doesn't even flinch. Interestingly, the arrows, as soon as they land on the barriers, they blow up smoke to try to attempt to blind them as the barrier then disappears.
"I think I might already have a clue on who's doing this…" said Arnoul.
Clearing from the smoke is Eiko alongside her compatriots and many mechanical ninjas.
"Knock knock." said Icy.
"Welcome home, baby." said Eiko.
A small, awkward pause occurs.
"Okay, maybe that shouldn't have been our returning line." Eiko continued.
Yumi starts to point up, "Speaking of returning…"
Eiko then notices Akuto and Junko from below as they slowly land on the ground.
"Hey! Isn't he the one you kept on jumping on and showing your—" said Xavier before being interrupted by Samantha, who then says, "Not the right moment, my X wonder."
"You too, eh?" said Akuto.
"Well, no thanks to Fujiko, anyways." said Eiko.
"Wait, weren't you in prison?!" said Junko.
"I got people. Not to mention I run CIMO8 now. And I'm Keena's nemesis! We've had a couple of battles. I believe we're tied at the moment…"
"Hm, nice story, but we haven't finished each other, either."
Eiko then chuckles, "Oh yeah, we were naked when we fought the first time and we barely fought last—"
Junko quickly swings her blade at Eiko, who actually gets caught off-guard as the blade very close to her neck.
"We haven't had a bloody battle yet! Let's fix that right damn now! Let's be damn serious!"
"Ha! Never thought I'd be happy on this! Let's dance! As for everyone else, do as you all well please!"
"Roger!" responded Yumi, "All right, let's mess the place up for good!"
Yumi leads the barrage as the many robots then take on the students, who use up their own abilities such as telekinesis, multiplying one self, energy blasts and so forth to try to stop them, but their armor is a bit tough to crack.
"Oh here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again!" said Lily.
"Okay, everyone, time to crash the robot party! If any of Eiko's friends interfere, break on through!" said Keena.
(An instrumental version of "Hero Of The Soviet Union" by The Dillinger Escape Plan plays in the background)
Keena's group would split up in multiple directions as Keena winds up her arms to get ready as she jumps and downward punches a robot through its head, leaving a gaping hole above it as Keena then backs away as it makes a small explosion. She then nods, understanding the possible weakness. 5 more robots surround her in a circle as they all throw metal shurikens. She avoids this by doing a corkscrew flip. The Shurikens go through the robots' faces, causing their heads to explode. Finally, two robots try to team up on her by kicking her from the air, but quickly turns and summersaults, using both her feet to kick them, sending them down to the ground, then quickly lands down to stomp on their heads, then jumping up high to avoid their explosions.
"Everyone, their heads are their weak spot! Crush them, chop them, whatever, just whack their heads hard!" she yelled to the students.
Most of the students would understand that as they now switch strategies.
In a really quick matter, a robot tries to sneak attack her from behind, but Keena quickly turns and delivers a hard headbutt on it, sinking the robots head to the middle of the body as it falls down to the ground. Keena seemed a bit unflinched at first, but then rubs her head a bit, "Ow…never doing that again…" she said as she kept on looking for robots. Interestingly, Akuto watches from above, noticing her abilities with a look of curiosity, "That's definitely a new side of her…" he said.
Gavin was in the middle of performing a Giant Swing to one of the robots, throwing to other robots nearby, "Got it, Keena-kins!" He would then deliver an abuse of European Uppercuts to a robot until delivering one hard enough to knock it's head off as he chuckles, "This is why fighting robots is much easier! They barely leave liquid messes!" he said. A really fast ninja quietly cuts a bit of his arm with almost unseen claws to try to weaken him as he grunts in slight pain. "Where are ya, ya bastard!" he yells our as one of the ninjas try to sneak attack him from behind, attempting a full nelson. "Oh, dude, you kidding?" he said as he then reverses the arms, and counters it into a Vertebreaker, successfully landing it on its head, breaking it. "Phew…so this is what war sort of feels like…" he said as he then backs away as it explodes and chases off for more robots.
Fujiko watches this from afar as she yawns for a bit, "Hm, should I help Eiko or make this more fun by me joining in?" She said as she would then think for a couple of seconds. "Oh well, why not?" she continued as she then constitutes a spell to summon a heavy number of demon monsters. "Go mark my territory, guys, I'm gonna just sit this one out to watch this movie-like madness that I directed," she said as she laughed evilly as the monsters slowly marked their way to the battlefield.
Michie gets surrounded by 6 robots as she unleashes her screech attack by gyrating her body in a Matrix-like way, effectively blowing their heads. She also sneaks up on a robot and unleashes her knife as she makes many slicing and dicing moves, turns around and walks away from it as it falls into pieces and explodes. She then sees the demon monsters moving in, making a small gasp, "What in the hell…I don't recall them joining this!"
Lily, who's nearby crushing a couple of robots with her stretchable and huge hands, making this a tad of an easy job for her, is able to hear her, "Fujiko, you just couldn't help yourself, could you?" she said frustratingly.
"I think there's enough robots out out of the way. We better regroup, Lil' Dog!" said Michie.
"Okay—wait, huh?"
"Oh yeah, I finally decided on a nickname. Cute, huh?" said Michie with a cute expression on her face.
"Uhh…y-yeah, b-but we better get a move on!" said Lily as she blushes throughout her sentence.
Michie giggles for a bit, "Oh yeah, she digs it." she said as she follows her.
Kanna, now turned into a wolf, munches through a couple of robot heads, ripping them off, "Ugh…this is the 6th one I ate and now the taste is getting a tad old." she joked.
Arnoul is seen firing with a gun with four protrusions around the barrel that spread out like an "X", blowing many robot heads off. "Well, there's still a surprising amount of them left, so better get more used to the taste."
Kanna responds with a groan "Wait, Eiko's fellow buddies haven't attacked us yet…ever noticed that?"
"Keep your eyes peeled…"
Back with Eiko's duel with Junko, they're now on top of the Academy's roof, as Eiko throws a barrage of shurikens at her as some land on her face and stomach, but she doesn't flinch as she passes through Eiko.
"Did you miss on purpose, or—AH!" she then yelled out as a large gash appears on her left arm, bleeding profusely.
"You wanted a serious battle, right? Look at us bleeding, heh heh…" Junko chuckled creepily.
"Well, might as well try something new here…" said Eiko, straining as she then pulls out a machete from her scabbard.
"A ninja using a machete? " Junko said with her now usual creepy and over the top laughter.
"I thought you wanted a serious battle." snarled back Eiko.
"With a B-movie prop like that? Hah!"
They then collided with their sword and machete, respectfully, clashing them several times, as they both go back and forth; cutting each other up a little bit as more blood continues to slowly drip from their weapons. Gavin is seen jumping up to try to make it a triple threat.
(The song ends)
"You! Don't ever badmouth my girlfriend ever again!" he said as he goes charging straight after Junko as Eiko takes the quick opportunity to jump off to try to hide.
"Oh yeah, you." said Junko as quickly knees him in the chin, causing him to backflip and elbows him in the back, "You two sure are lovey-dovey for each other, aren't you? Sweet love like yours makes me sick!" she continued as she kicks him hard on the side.
"Gah…that's because I bet you were never loved! Giving in to the Demon King? That's like selling your body!"
"Really? What if I say that it's meant to be destiny for her to be with Akuto?"
"You're just playing mind games!"
Gavin then quickly stands up as Junko runs at him and he proceeds to arm drag her, as she then quickly recovers. He then prepares a lariat to try to hit her, but Junko counters by jumping on top of his arm and kicking his neck, causing him to fall again. He then coughs blood.
"You might be right about the mind games thing. Or am I?" she said, chuckling maniacally.
He then sweep attacks her legs to cause her to fall down as he takes the opportunity to punch her face 4 times as she coughs up a bit of blood
"Your own mind is playing games on you, you psycho bitch!"
Junko then attempts to choke him with both her hands on his neck to take away some air out of him as she then elbows him to the face. They both then stand up as their fight continues.
Meanwhile, Keena now has her hands full facing off against Yumi.
"It's like destiny for us to face here, Keena!"
"I guess I should thank you, actually. I believe you were the one who unleashed me, too!"
"Ugh…don't remind me!"
Yumi then uses her brain waves to try to control Keena as the red-head then backflips over and over to avoid them.
"Give it up, Keena, my mind-bending abilities are tougher than ever!" said Yumi.
Keena, while dodging then says the following "I admit, they're not bad, but…you should have thought quicker what I'm going to do next!" as she then flies up quickly up to 50 feet, then dropping down like a missile, aiming straight at Yumi as she fires off the brain waves straight at Keena, which seems to work, however…
"Aha! You're in my control now!"
"But can you control my landing?!"
Yumi then realizes that she can't control the weight of the landing as she struggles as much as she can. Keena is able to crash-land exactly on her head to knock her out unconscious. Keena also tries to recover from using her head as a weapon again.
"Okay, that is gonna be the last time I'll use my head…for reals this time." she said.
Akuto then appears slowly as Keena then turns around to see him.
"That's not just using your head, that's actually well thought-out."
Keena would then look serious at him, "I don't want your good criticism spoiling over me."
"You know, we were never really destined to fight one another. Weren't we meant to be? Remember the orphanage?"
"I don't…remember anything involving being in an orphanage."
"Wait, what?"
"I said I don't remember! I had a Mom and Dad and—for that matter, why did you just bring it up?"
"Hmph…I'm pretty sure that was you, wasn't it?"
"Are you living like you're in some sort of fantasy world?"
Akuto chuckles "Look who's talking. The whole "hero" or "chosen one you speak of, just doesn't fit you. You're the Law of Entity! You're supposed to give anyone the power of God Himself! You wouldn't be selfish to inflict it upon yourself, did you?"
"No. Matter of fact, I removed it upon myself."
"What?!"
"I now realize, especially since last year that all I done is either run away or just back away of fighting…but I now realize that the Law of Entity is preventing from what I really want, and that is to fight for what's right! Friendship, love, courage, passion and energy are what have been guiding me right now and up to forever! And that all beckons me to win! Even…if I had to kill a friend I once had."
"T-this isn't right! No! I'll smug your face right off! You said you're different now, then so am I! Let's just say I'm not only liking these powers…I would screw around with them if I want to! I may not have God's powers, but it'll be enough to kill you anyways."
"So be it, Akuto."
Back with Lily and Michie, they're still trying to localize the rest of their friends through the field of students of the Academy, robots and monsters as Lily keeps punching the monsters out of the way and Michie slices her way through the robots.
"At this rate, this is a toughie to try to find anyone!" said Michie
"Just keep on searching, Michie, no way they could be—what the…?" said Lily.
"What is it—no way…!"
They then notice Keena and Akuto up flying in the sky far away from each other.
"I see you've finally used your flying skills to good use." said Akuto.
"Call it a hunch, but I believe it's more like all the other times were practice." said Keena.
"Any final thoughts before our duel?"
"No. We'll just plain fight weather we want to or not."
They then prepare their fists as they then fly towards each other, both of them yelling loudly.
"You won't win, Keena!"
"Akuto, your reign of terror will end before it starts!"
Their fists collide as the screen goes to black.
