SORRY for the late update. I have an okay (I guess) excuse. This weekend has been really busy, first I had ballroom dancing, then I had a lunch to get to and then I've been really busy today, and I was just sitting here and I realized OMFG I haven't updated my story! So here you go :)
Cato's POV
When I step out of the bathroom and into my bedroom, with just a towel around my torso, mind you, Jocelyn is sitting on my bed with a white button-up T-shirt and jeans sitting on the bed beside her. "OH MY GODS!" I exclaim, trying to pull up my towel higher.
"Calm your man-boobs down," Jocelyn sighs. "I've seen a lot of people with less clothes on then you're wearing now, and they looked better too."
"Excuse me-"
"No time for that," Jocelyn interrupts, "Just put this on and then walk over next door to Clove's house and apologize to her, she's sitting in the living room right now, watching on of my personal favorite old movies, The Notebook."
"A romance? Clove?"
"Yeah, she prefers horror and action movies, but I convinced her to watch it," Jocelyn waves her hand in an unconcerned gesture. "Now get dressed and get your dumb-idiotic ass over there."
"Could you uh, leave so I can change?"
Jocelyn rolls her eyes but walks out the bedroom door, closing it behind her. "You have 90 seconds." I hear her call through the door.
Not wanting Jocelyn to see me naked, I quickly change into the outfit she picked out for me, plus a pair of combat boots. When Jocelyn bursts through the door, I'm lacing the second boot.
"No time for that," Jocelyn says, pushing me from the room, and propelling me down the front stairs. She opens the door and pushes me out, "Go and apologize, I'll be watching you." She says, closing the door behind me, apparently she's watching me from my own house.
I awkwardly walk over to Clove's house, there's snow on the ground, but I manage not to slip. I stand on the front steps, with my left hand poised to knock in front of the door. I look back over at my house, Jocelyn is looking out the living room window at me, she mouths Just knock you dumbass, at least that's what I think she said.
I knock on the door, it opens a minute later, Shawna stands in the doorway, "Joce where-, oh you're not Joce." She finishes, looking at me.
"Obviously not." I reply. "Is Clove-?"
"Well, duh, Clove's here, it is her house." Shawna rolls her eyes, "Clove!"
"Yeah?!" I can hear Clove call back.
"You've got a…. visitor." Shawna finishes.
"Who-?" Clove comes to the door, "Oh, you." Is what she says when she gets to the door.
Shawna looks between the two of us, "I think I'll just leave you two to talk."
Before she walks off, I catch Clove giving her a death glare. "Well, are you going to invite me in?" I ask Clove.
"Yeah, no." she says, looking over me.
"Invite the poor bastard in!" I hear Shawna call.
"Ugh, fine, come inside," Clove says, stepping out of the doorway, I walk into the house that I've been in so many times.
I can see out the window next to the stairs, Jocelyn staring through the window at me, talk to her, she mouths.
"Um…." I trail off.
"Jocelyn sent you over here didn't she?" Clove asks.
"Uh, maybe?"
"She's always messing with other people's love lives." Clove rolls her eyes, "SHAWNA!"
Shawna walks over from the living room, "No need to yell, I'm right in the next room."
"Yeah, yeah, go to Cato's house and tell Jocelyn to stop watching us."
Shawna smiles, "Messing with your love life, is she?"
"Yeah, why can't she get one of her own?" Clove sighs. "Go." She points to the door.
"Uh-huh," Shawna says, "You sure you want to be here, alone with him?"
"I can handle him,, plus I've got some knives in my boots." I eye Clove's boots lusciously.
Pulling on a black jacket, Shawna opens the front door (which lets in a blast of cold air), takes a step out and closes it behind her.
"Living room?" Clove asks.
"Sure."
The two of us walk into her living room, I sit down on the couch while Clove sits on an arm chair to the left of me.
"I assume that Jocelyn sent you over to talk to me?" Clove asks.
"Maybe- well, yeah."
"Well then say it."
"Say what?"
"Whatever Jocelyn wanted you to say." Clove says impatiently.
"I'm uh, sorry, for everything, like our fight and for offering up the idea of killing Ethan."
"And?"
"I'm sorry for kissing Amara out of my stupid jealousy, and I really hope you can forgive me because I miss you, a lot."
There's silence for a while, but then Clove says, "I'm sorry too."
"What?"
"I'm sorry for kissing Ethan and for getting so mad at you….. I miss you too, a lot."
"You shouldn't apologize, it was my fault."
"No, it was my fault." Clove argues.
"My fault."
"My fault."
"My fault."
"My fault."
"My fault."
"It's my freaking fault, shut up, and stop arguing." Clove says, I smile, and I can see how she's friends with Jocelyn and Shawna.
"Alright it was your fault, happy?"
Clove smiles, satisfied. "Good. Alright back to the I miss you part." Yep, defiantly like Jocelyn.
"I don't think that we should have broken up, and I think that maybe we should get back together."
"Wow, going straight to the point." Clove raising her eye brows at me.
"Well, what else was I supposed to do?"
"I don't know, like work your way up to the point?"
"How am I supposed to do that?"
"I don't know, didn't Jocelyn like quiz you?"
"No…"
"Wow, I guess she was in a rush."
"You can say that again."
"Joce is like the queen of relationships, though the longest hers have ever lasted is I think like 3 hours…"
"Alright, too much information."
Clove laughs. "Try talking to Joce about her 'love life' sometime and you'll get more information than that."
"Yeah," I shift around in my seat, "I'd rather not….I'm actually really sorry about freaking out about you know, what happened in the park."
"So am I," Clove says.
"Is there any chance we could like, start over?"
"We can try," Clove gives me a little smile, "But I think there are some things we shouldn't forget."
"I can agree with that." I agree.
I can hear a squealing, looking out the window; I can see a flash of reddish hair out the window.
Clove rolls her eyes, and walks over to the window and opens it, "I saw you two."
Someone replies.
"Uh-huh."
Some more time.
"Maybe, maybe not."
…..
"I love how much trust you all have in me to make my own decisions."
….
"No, why don't you two come in now, your already here anyway."
…
There you go! Like I said last time, almost to the end of my written part, and as far as I know… I think I might discontinue this story…. I'm really sorry, but I still have 3 chapters left to post. (SORRY!)
