Narcissa Malfoy sat on a chair looking at the flames dance in the fireplace in deep thought, thinking about her son's future.
(He just doesn't seem happy.) she thought. (But why?)
Then she remembered the girl upstairs, Sarah, and realized that she was right, she knew this would happen! She remembered the way Draco and Sarah looked at each other; Draco just staring at Sarah with an unconscious smile, and trying to find any excuse to be near her!
How could she have let this happen! She should have followed her instincts and not let her come to Malfoy Manor.
Narcissa couldn't help feeling like she was a bad mother for letting this happen to Draco, but it would only get worse if she let this masquerade go on any longer.
And just when Draco was starting to accept his responsibilities as a Malfoy.
Narcissa didn't want to do what she knew she had to do, she knew it would crush Draco, but it would be for the better of all of them... She had to go.
"House elf!" A scrawny little elf came running.
"Yes, master?"
"Go take a look around Sarah's room... Bring me anything that has any indication that she is trying to take Draco for herself.
"Yes master."
The house elf slowly opened the door, and saw Sarah sleeping peacefully.
He looked around under the bed, but just found some dust balls and a dirty sock, nothing that would show proof of affection for Draco.
Then the little creature saw something on the dresser, a pink book that said "diary" in flowing cursive lettering.
"Master will want to see this."
He jumped up, grabbed the book, and ran out as fast as he could without waking Sarah.
****************
"What did you find?" Narcissa asked.
"Her diary, master."
"Excellent work." She took the diary, then looked back at the elf, who was clearly looking for a reward.
"There's some leftovers in the kitchen... Help yourself."
"Thank you, master! Thank you!"
Narcissa waited until the elf was gone and opened the lock.
"Alohomora."
"Hmm... This looks interesting..." She focused on one paragraph.
"If my plans work out like I hope they will, the wedding will be canceled and I can finally have Draco without worrying about him getting married to someone else."
"I knew it!" Narcissa slammed the book shut.
"She is trying to sabotage the wedding!"
"I have to get rid of her. I need to kick her out of the manor. Yes... That's it. Draco will marry Astoria."
Narcissa read the part about Sarah wanting to come between Astoria and Draco, but she didn't even think to read the part that had Sarah's heartfelt feelings, the feelings that just may have melted narcissa's heart.
Please P.M. me if you have ideas for another/this story that you would like to see me write.
Note: for Draco Malfoy, I only do Draco/OC stories, but I will definitely do canon stories if you like. (Ron/hermione and Harry/Ginny etc.)
