Fitz looked over at the rest of the team. "Skye didn't want to let him get away, she went in. But Connor is here, it looked like she was working with Quinn!" They all shared shocked glances before starting their plan of action.

"The driver's not answering."

"Ah Coulson's team finally got here." Ian said sarcastically a sick smile on his face. He turned to look at Connor. "Copy my lead. Remember the boss won't hesitate to kill any of your Avengers." Connor nodded and gritted her teeth.

The doors burst open and Ward came in, shooting all the guards down and advancing towards Quinn. He turned around and walked further into the mansion but was stopped by Coulson who held a gun to his head. Connor was slammed against the wall by May and her eyes turned red, causing the agent to stare at her in shock.

They shoved Ian up against a table and Coulson spotted the blood on his hands, making his anger rise.

He pulled him up and held the gun to his throat, wanting his answers. "Where is Skye?"

Ian grinned. "You know agent Coulson, it's dangerous to keep sending her in like that, oh no, when she means so much to you." Coulson's eyes widened and he smacked Ian across the jaw, sending him to the ground.

"Search the house, find her, NOW!" Fitzsimmons rushed up the stairs, panicked looks on their faces.

May handcuffed both of them, leaving Connor and Ian while they headed to find Skye. He turned to look at her.

"I told you, S.H.I.E.L.D will be the death of you." She shook her head slowly and looked at him.

"You promised me they wouldn't be hurt. I refuse to co-operate with you or your boss anymore." She spat harshly, growling at him and her claws coming out. She moved towards him, trying to snap her handcuffs but was stopped by a sharp jag in her neck. She looked up and saw Ian pressing down on a syringe full of green liquid.

"I also promised I wouldn't hurt you, but that was a lie."

Meanwhile, Coulson ran downstairs and opened the door to see Skye lying, covered in blood. There were two bullet wounds in her stomach and there was blood on her mouth. He crouched down beside her.

"Oh no. Oh no, oh god. SIMMONS, GET DOWN HERE!" He applied pressure to the wounds and tried to feel around for a pulse. "Hang on, just hang on!"

The team apart from May rushed in, shock filling them as they saw Skye.

"She's been shot." Coulson said and Simmons crouched beside her.

"Keep her upright."

Coulson let out a panicked reply. "I got no pulse."

Simmons started to freak out. "She's lost too much blood I don't know...put her in there!" She pointed to the tube that Mike had been kept in and they all looked over at it.

"Do you even know what this thing is?"

"It's a hyperbaric chamber and I said put her in there, NOW!" Simmons said her voice strict with worry and authority.

They all lifted Skye's body over to the tube and quickly locked her inside, with Fitz lowering the temperature and increasing the pressure. They watched in anticipation as they waited to see if she was okay.

Skye let out a breath and a small fog from her mouth appeared on the glass, making them all sigh in temporary relief.

The team got back upstairs just in time to see Ian pull out a syringe from Connor's neck and they watched as the girl's lips opened slightly and as she looked up at Ian, they rushed forward and to her side.

She let out an ear-piercing howl and her eyes flashed red and slowly turned back to their normal yellow before she started to shake. May grabbed Ian roughly and pulled him away from the girl, tightening his handcuffs. They all watched as Connor's body shifted into the black wolf and lay motionless on the ground.

"You know, S.H.I.E.L.D isn't the only one with sedatives for pet shape shifting wolves and poor Connor should have known, to stay alive her alpha will retire." Ian spoke harshly and Coulson punched him across the face again, an angry look on his face.

"WE NEED BOTH OF THEM ON THE BUS – IMMEDIATLEY!" Coulson ordered and the team set into action.

Once they got them back on the bus and all of them had gone off to comfort each other, Fitz sent Simmons to get cleaned up while he went to go and check on Connor as no-one had been able to yet.

He wasn't a biologist but he knew basic first aid – and he figured he can at least take a pulse. He saw the black wolf that had been sat on the holotable and he decided to see what information he could find about this green liquid.

As he was pulling up some of the files, he heard the doors slide open behind him and he turned to see Simmons standing there with a small syringe in her hands.

"You'll need a blood sample if we want to find out what's in her system." She said and although she was trying to seem better, he knew this was still painful for her. He nodded gratefully and Simmons took a short sample of her blood.

They started to analysis it when Fitz's computer pinged and he hurried over to it, realising he had found a result. He scanned the document, before reading it out to Simmons.

"It says here that there had been no complete cure, but Dr Bruce Banner had a method to stop it that he and Fury had devised under top secret experiments." He turned to look at Simmons. "She needs the Avengers, whether Fury likes it or not."

They reported their findings back to Coulson and once they had touched down at the S.H.I.E.L.D base, he let Fury know.

The Director agreed instantly, saying Connor needed her team. They handed the wolf over, and Connor was placed in a secured jeep before being taken to the Avengers Tower.

The Avengers would see her again, and if Connor woke up, Fury knew how annoyed she would be that she wouldn't get to see their reactions.

Fury wrapped a white medical blanket around the wolf so that she would be easier to carry in his arms. The security guard let in up right away, knowing who Fury was and although he didn't admit it, he was terrified of the man. Fury rose up in the elevator to the Avengers usual lounge and as he stormed in, the current two members who were in the room turned to look at him.

Tony Stark stood up, an irritated look on his face. "What now Mr Pirate?" Fury glared at him out of his good eye and turned to face Bruce Banner who was the other member in the room.

"Remember when all of us had that discussion about how the Council had made that really weird sedative to knock out Whittmore?" Looks of agony crossed their faces at her name and the man realised that they missed her a lot. Bruce and Tony both nodded and Fury walked over to the table, placing the object wrapped in a blanket that he had been carrying on the table. The two men walked over and Fury sighed before looking at them.

"Whatever you're immediate reaction is, I need you to not act on it at first. We need your help." He flung the blanket off the body of the black wolf and both the men stepped back in utter shock and disbelief before Bruce and Tony both quickly came to their senses.

"Is this...?" Tony trailed off and Fury nodded.

"She's been alive for a while. There was an incident with a field mission she went on, the guy had got a hold of the formula for that sedative but he added something else in it. Bruce, we need an antidote, urgently." The man nodded and walked over to a small locked cupboard and pulled out a key. Inside it was various different coloured liquids in chemical flasks.

Tony raised his hands in the air. "YOU KEEP THAT IN THE KICTHEN?" Bruce ignored him and pulled out a small yellow filled flask. It had Connor's name scribbled on the front and the other two men stared at him.

"Why do you have that?" Fury asked, confused.

"I thought if someone like Connor every came along it might come in use." They both shrugged and Bruce walked over to where the wolf was lying on the table.

"Tony, I need you to hold her mouth open."

"Have you seen the size of her canines?" He stared blankly and Bruce glared at him until he caved in and opened her jaws.

"Fury, hold her down. She might come back quickly." He nodded and placed an arm over the wolf. He poured the yellow liquid into her mouth and they waited for a moment.

After a few seconds, her eyes shot open revealing the yellow and she managed to get away from Fury's arm, catch Tony's wrist with her mouth and pierce the skin before jumping off the table, turning around and snarling at them.

She adjusted to the light and realised it was Tony, Bruce and Fury. She just bit Tony. Connor felt really guilty and she shifted back, moving forward to cover Tony's wrist and apply pressure to stop the light bleeding. He just stared open mouthed at her.

"I'm sorry for leaving." Tony lifted her into a tight hug, squeezing her ribs and she let out a yelp causing him to put her down instantly. He stared at her with a panicked fatherly look. She lifted up the edge of her top to see thick, black bruising around her ribs. She knew it was no longer broken but it was still healing.

Bruce moved and lightly placed a hand on the bruise. Connor shrugged him off, pulled down her shirt and rolled her eyes at them.

"I'm fine. It'll heal in a few days." Bruce lunged forward and hugged her too, being careful of her bruises and laughing. Fury excused him and left, with the two Avengers grinning like Cheshire cats.

"It's great to have you back but Natasha and Clint are going to kill you." She smiled and laughed before hugging them.

"So where are Thor, Steve, Natasha and Clint?"

"Thor and Steve went out sight-seeing which always ends in disaster, and Natasha and Clint are on a mission down at the abandoned boathouses a little bit away from here." Connor smirked.

"I'm going to go see Nat and Clint."
