A/N Yes hello, back with another chapter. I hope you all will enjoy. Happy reading!

20 March

Natalya waited outside in the lobby, only a few more minutes. She rubbed at her eyes, and checked her phone. Only a few more minutes.

The few minutes passed, and the door across the hall opened, students came filing out, finding gilbert amongst the students. She didn't even go to him, he came to her.

"How do you think you did?"

"Good." He said with shrug. "A lot easier than I expected."

Natalya nodded. "That's great. So how does it work?" She asked.

"Well, out of all those kids, they'll take the top five. And those five will have an interview with a representative from M.I.T. And then they'll chose the top three. Then the three will go to M.I.T, meet the Deen, have an interview with them, and then one person will be chosen to get the full- ride scholarship."

"Sounds, impressive. Complicated too. But, if it's what you want, then of course I'm supporting you." She said looking up at him.

"Thanks Nat. The hardest part is over, I think at least. But, interviews can sometimes be pretty, nerve racking."

"It's fine, Kat and I will give you some practice interviews, so it won't be so hard for you. It'll come naturally."

Gilbert shrugged. "That'll be a lot of help too."

Natalya gave a half smile at him, and reached for his hand, but stopped when her phone buzzed in her pocket. She took it out and answered the phone. "Hello?"

"Hi Nata, I'm down at the police station, can you come and meet me? Officer Jones has to talk to you about your testimony and trial date." Katyusha spoke to her over the phone.

"Oh yeah sure. Gil just finished his test, I'll be there as soon as I can." She said to her and hung up. "Hey, I have to go down to the police station. You can drop me off and head home if you're feeling tired from the test and everything. And Kat and I will see you at home."

"No, I'll come. It's important to you, so it's important to me. Besides, you just waited like four hours for me to take my test, what's a couple hours going to do to me?"

"We looked up Ender Smith in the system. Nothing. He's as clean as a whistle. He's an honest man, good lawyer, not a speeding ticket to his name." Alfred spoke sitting down across from Natalya.

Natalya blinked. "What? I don't understand, he's the man that brought me out. He's the man that gave me all these fucking bruises, he's the man that threatened to end my pitiful life. There is nothing clean about him!"

"I get that Nat, but what we pulled up in the system—"

"What you pulled up in the system was a lie! It was a stupid cover up or something! Please look through the system again Officer."

"I'm not the one who looked him up in the system."

Juliette was hunched over in her chair, the dark room dimly lit by the computer screens around her. "Come on, come on she whispered as she stared at the Nintendo DS in her face. She was right at the finish line. And suddenly a green shell was rocketed at her kart, and she was stopped in her tracks. "A green shell? Who uses those? Yoshi you stupid dinosaur fu—"

"Juliette?"

A yelp came from the woman, and she quickly flipped her DS closed and put it in a drawer before turning around to the door. "You scared me Officer Jones." She said and flipped the switch, the room being illuminated.

"Sorry, didn't mean to disturb your hard work."

"Oh no it's okay, my hard work just went down the drain anyways." She said with a calm smile.

"Sorry to hear that. Anyways, I have Natalya Arlovskaya with me, she was apart of the recent prostitution case we had come in."

"Okay. And she's here because?"

"Because you didn't find anything on Ender Smith." Natalya said angrily.

Juliette looked at her for a minute. And then turned back to her computer, typing the name into the system. "Oh yeah he's clean." She said pointing to the computer.

Natalya looked at the screen. "No records found." She read. "No, no no this isn't right." She said looking at her. "Don't you have his licence? Birth certificate? Anything else?" She asked.

"Those might just be on file. As in, actual papers." Juliette spoke. "We've been in the process of getting rid of papers and hard files, and storing them on the computer. We may not have gotten to the last names ending in 'S' yet."

"I'll go look for them." Alfred spoke and left out of the room to go to the file room to search for Ender's files.

"Ender is such a weird name don't you think? Like, I don't even understand what is means? Is it even a name at all?" Juliette spoke.

Natalya looked at her boredly. "I'm not up for the awkward conversation right now." She spoke flatly.

Juliette nodded slowly. "I-uh, okay." She said and turned around back in her chair as she allowed Natalya to get lost in her own thoughts.

How could they just not pull up anything on him? It made her pull her sanity into question all over again. Was Ender real? Her bruises were real. The sex was real, the money was real. What the hell was going on?

"So I looked in the files, and again, nothing. No Ender William Smith at all." Alfred said coming back into the room.

"I told you Ender was a weird name."

.

.

.

"Alfred I'm telling you the truth!" Natalya yelled.
"You can't call me that here Natalya, it's Officer Jones." He said sitting down in front of her again.

Natalya sighed. Here they were again. Grey walls, brown table, cleaned out ashtray. The Interrogation Room. "Officer Jones, I told you the truth. All of it."

"And I believe you, I do. But right now, with us not being able to find anything on Ender William Smith, it's making you look bad on this trial, and it's going to give you more time. So is there anything, anything at all, that you may have forgotten, or didn't mention to me or on the tape that will help you Natalya?"

Natalya stared blankly at a wall. She honestly felt like all hope was lost really. What the hell else could she tell the Officer? Her eyes widened.

"Thomas Hale."

"Who?"

She pressed her fingertips to her temples, trying to collect her thoughts. "There would be days where I would clean Ender's house. Like his office and such, I told you that."

"Go on." He said and pressed the record button on the audio device.

"One day, I can't remember the date. I made it to his house before him, so I just thought maybe he was tied up at the office, whatever. So, I start cleaning, and I start with his office. There were papers on the desk, they were bank statements. So I started to read them, and they said the name Thomas Hale, on them. And it made me wonder who he was, and what he had to do with Ender." She explained. "The statements consisted of big amounts of money being added to a bank account. Five thousand, six thousand dollars at a time. It was strange, but he caught me looking at him, and he yelled at me, and hurt me for it. I ran into those papers again sometime later, in a shoebox in his room. And this time, I took a bank statement out, in case I ever needed it again, and I guess this would be the time." She said to him.

"Do you have it on you?"

.

.

.

Alfred sat down across from Natalya. "We analysed the bank statements, they're real statements of course. And the man, Thomas Hale, is Ender William Smith."

A/N Ooooh, clifhanger, those are cool right? Right? I don't know what I'm doing here tbh, just review. They are fuel to the fire of course. And until next chapter!
