Blaine walked out of the doctor's office and came back into the waiting room where his best friend, Sam Evans was. The wedding was in a few weeks and somehow, even with being single, he managed to get Kurt to be his date.
It was unlikely that Kurt would have sex with him, but better safe than sorry and Blaine wanted to make sure if the condom broke that he wouldn't give Kurt an STD. He knew he needed to get tested, but Blaine hated doctor offices.
Sam came with him for support, and Blaine had just finished the first and least painful part of the test. The doctor had to first do a swab test and sure enough, he didn't want Sam in there when he got that done, considering the place that the swab would be.
Blaine still had to get the blood test, but he went back into the waiting room with Sam until it was time for the next test. It was a blood test and Blaine hated needles. Like a lot. So he would probably need Sam with him, and this test wouldn't require him to show a part of him, that Sam would probably not be interested in seeing.
"So, now you just need the blood test and then they give the results?" Sam asked and Blaine nodded.
"You okay?"
"Yeah. Why?" He asked and Sam shrugged. He knew Blaine was scared, but he wasn't going to say anything until Blaine did. Blaine probably didn't want to sound childish, but Sam didn't mind. Lots of people hated needles. He used to.
Sam would understand if Blaine told him and asked him to go back with him. He could even hold his hand, that's what he always did for his younger brother and sister when they had to get shots. He would be there for Blaine when he needed it, no matter what. Especially in this case.
Sam knew Blaine probably had a disliking for doctors when he asked to accompany him to his appointment. Not many people would ask that of their friends when they are going to get a STD test taken.
"You seem… nervous." Sam said and Blaine nodded.
"I am. I just… don't like the doctor's office." Blaine admitted. "I hate needles. Could you maybe…?" Blaine said, trying to ask for accompaniment back in the room when he got the blood taken, but didn't know how to say it.
"Come back with you?" Sam asked and Blaine nodded.
"Sorry, it's childish, I know, I just… really. Hate. Needles." Blaine added and Sam nodded.
"It's okay. My siblings do too, so I'm used to it." Sam said and Blaine smiled. "And you're my best friend, don't need to be embarrassed about this kind of thing." He added and Blaine nodded. He really liked Sam. He was so understanding, kind, funny, and very cute. No wonder Blaine had a crush on him.
"Blaine Anderson." A nurse said as she came into the waiting room. Sam and Blaine got up and followed her back to the exam room. Blaine sat on the chair they had for the patients in the particular room and put his hand on the table next to it.
"Relax. Doesn't hurt too much." Sam assured him, but Blaine was still terrified.
"I don't know if I can do this Sam." Blaine said, starting to panic.
"Relax. You're going to survive" Sam joked and Blaine rolled his eyes before laughing. Then another nurse came into the room.
"Okay, this will take a second and then we'll get your results done in about ten minutes." She said and Blaine nodded, still feeling shaky.
"Relax hon, it won't take long." She assured him as she wrapped a band around his arm. Blaine looked away, not wanting to look at the needle or his blood that would be filling a tube. She cleaned an area on his arm and then took the needle.
Sam walked over and smiled as Blaine looked like he was about to be murdered. "Relax." Sam said and then grabbed his hand as the nurse took his arm and Blaine shut his eyes. She put the needle in his arm. He cringed and squeezed his friend's hand.
A few seconds later, it didn't hurt and Blaine opened his eyes. "Is it over?" Blaine asked, hoping it was, but it wasn't.
"No, just a little longer. Hold in there buddy." Sam said, still holding his hand. "Don't look at it okay." Sam said and Blaine looked at Sam and just saw those big lips that would be great for kissing and those amazing brown eyes. They were beautiful. How was it possible that Sam wasn't the most popular guy. He had the looks, talent, and everything. At least that was how Blaine saw it. That distracted him from the fact of the needle in his arm.
She took it out and took his blood and left the room. Blaine sat with Sam, holding a cotton ball over the needle puncture on his arm until the nurse returned with his test results, many minutes later.
"Here are your results. You can leave when you're ready." She said and left the two boys. Blaine read them and saw he didn't have STDs and sighed in relief. He was glad he wouldn't need the treatment and he would have to worry about Kurt getting it. At least a few good things came out of the doctor visit.
What did you think?
I know its short, but I've been busy. I just got assigned a project today, due Friday. I can't wait for Saturday. When I go on Vacation.
