Ava woke up early the following morning, grabbing a shower and getting ready for school, before heading out to the kitchen to get breakfast. When she entered the kitchen, she found her brothers already sitting at the table and eating, which surprised her a little.
"Why are you lot up so early?" Ava asked grabbing an apple and pouring herself a glass of orange juice.
"We all have stuff to do, why are you up and ready for school so early?" Brax replied as Ava drained her glass and put it in the sink.
"I'm meeting Dexter at the Diner before school," Ava stated picking up her bag and approaching the front door.
"Do you want a lift?" Brax added as she opened it.
"I'll walk."
Ava headed to the Diner, where Dex was already sitting, and sat down opposite him with a smile.
"Hey Avatar," Dexter said returning the smile as he ate, "I thought we were meeting at school?"
"I've got something I need to do, but I need to ask you to do me a favour?"
"What sort of favour?"
"If my brothers ask, we made plans yesterday to meet here before school, and I was with you the entire time," Ava said hoping that Dexter would agree.
"Okay, I can do that but what are you doing instead?" Dex asked looking up at Ava concerned.
"It's better if you don't know, just cover for me with my brothers, and I'll meet you at school."
"Okay," Dexter mumbled hesitantly.
Ava kissed him on the cheek and rushed out of the diner, heading over to the caravan park, where Ava had found out Danny was staying. Retrieving an envelope from her bag, she approached the caravan that Danny and Rex were staying in, and slid it under the door.
Arriving at school just before the bell rang, Ava rushed to her locker where Dexter was waiting, and they headed to class in silence. School flew by, and it wasn't until they were on their way home that Dexter spoke up about what happened that morning.
"Whatever it is that you're up to… it won't get you hurt right?"
"I won't get hurt," Ava lied offering Dexter a smile.
"That's good," Dexter added as they entered the Diner and spotted Brax at the counter.
"Hey Firefly, how was school?" Brax asked as Ava hugged him.
"It was okay."
"Glad to hear it, I see she dragged you out early this morning," Brax said to Dexter who nodded.
"Yeah," Dexter replied before ordering them both milkshakes, and leaving Ava to speak to Brax.
"I'm going to need your help at Angelo's later, we have a big delivery coming in, and Kyle won't be able to handle it on his own."
"What time do you need me there for?" Ava inquired hoping that it didn't interfere with what she already had planned.
"About eight o'clock, it'll take you and Kyle a couple of hours to sort it all, so we could have dinner at Angelo's tonight if you wanted," Brax suggested earning an eager nod from Ava.
Brax collected his coffee from the counter, and kissed Ava's head before leaving. Ava left Dexter at half six, heading down to the beach, and looking around for a few minutes before finally spotting Danny waiting further along the sand.
Taking a deep breath, Ava made her way towards him, and stood beside him quietly. They both stared out over the sea, but Ava was scared and that fact would have made Danny laugh if he knew.
"Are you sure this information is one hundred percent solid?" Danny questioned.
"Yes, I heard them talking about it," Ava replied keeping her voice as level as possible, "The delivery is set to be made in three days."
"Do you know where and what time the drop is taking place?"
"There's an old barn about twenty minutes away from here, it's located in the woods, the drop will be made at ten o'clock that night" Ava informed him, "It's well away from the hiking trails, so no-one will hear or see a thing."
"It sounds good," Danny agreed turning to look at Ava, "You help me with this job, and I'll leave Summer Bay but I won't promise to stay away… I'll meet you here at this time the night of the delivery."
Ava nodded, before walking away and checking her watch, realising she was going to be late getting to Angelo's. It was twenty past eight, when she opened the doors to Angelo's, and approached the bar where Brax was making drinks.
"You're late," Brax said.
"A Braxton is never late, nor are they early… they arrive precisely when they mean to," Ava argued with a grin causing her brother to chuckle, "Is Kyle already dealing with the delivery?"
"Yeah, you know what you have to do."
Ava headed into the back room, where Kyle stood surrounded by boxes, holding a clipboard and counting. Ava had helped do this a few times, so she grabbed her own clipboard and got straight to work without a word.
"Where are Casey and Heath?" Ava asked Kyle who glanced over at her.
"Casey had something to do at the gym, and Heath has a date."
"Wait," Ava added turning to look at Kyle, "Did you just say that Heath has a date?"
"Yep, he even got dressed up and everything."
"I missed it," Ava moaned earning a laugh from Kyle as they got back to work.
It took them just over two hours to finish what they had to do, and when they headed back into the restaurant, Casey was sitting waiting with Heath. Taking a seat next to Heath, Ava placed her order and smiled at Brax who handed her a glass of coke.
They spent the entire dinner laughing and teasing Heath about his date, then all headed home to find Charlie waiting on their doorstep. Everyone headed inside, followed closely by Charlie, who stood by the door and crossed her arms over her chest.
