Chapter Twenty One: Past is in the Past/A New Beginning (Part 1)
"...their names… are Olaf and Marshall."
One coherent thought races through my mind. 'It can't be.'
I nod my head slowly as I watch Elsa's blue eyes widen in wonder, but there's fear beneath the shock. "I didn't tell them about you. I actually wasn't completely sure about it myself. It dawned on me right as I left that they were..." I pause, not wanting to hurt her and bring up painful memories of the past. I place a hand on her shoulder reassuringly. "We don't have to talk about this if you don't want to."
I watch a multitude of emotions flicker over Elsa's face before she responds. "No, no. I'm comfortable talking to you about anything." Elsa smiles brightly and takes my hand. "Do they look well?"
I nod and smile. "Their business is booming and it's a great atmosphere at the place. I obviously don't know details but they look healthy and happy." A small smile flickers across Elsa's rosy lips. I lower my eyes shyly and let out a quick breath. "I work tomorrow morning, maybe you could come pick me up? You wouldn't have to talk to them right away, just see them if you wanted, but I understand if you're not ready for that..."
Elsa chuckles and I realize I've been rambling. Her soft lips meet my cheek and I look into her eyes. "I'll be here for you. Whatever you decide." We kiss sweetly, slowly and afterwards Elsa settles back into me as I wrap my arms around her. I kiss the top of her mussed blond hair and sigh happily. It's nice to see her relaxing. It's nice to be relaxing together, every night we spend with one another assures me that we're meant to be.
A warmth settles in my chest and spreads throughout my body, warm happy tingles. I want to share the feeling and I start rubbing the tension out of Elsa's shoulders. She moans appreciatively and I blush at how...pleasured the moaning becomes. Eventually we're kissing again, her hands gripping the back of my head and pulling me in for a searing kiss, her teeth nibbling my lower lip. Now I'm the one moaning as I pull her towards the bedroom. Elsa presses me against the back of the bedroom door, her hands all over me causing heat to spread through my body. I lead her to the bed and soon we're tangled in the sheets, sharing our passion and love through hot touches and soft whispers.
It's very early as my alarm goes off for work. I kiss Elsa's cheek and she mumbles at me incoherently; she's got the day off and I don't want to wake her. "Love you." I tuck her in before grabbing my uniform and heading into the shower.
I'm nowhere near late but I've got two very important things to do before I leave. I dig a post-it and from a drawer in the kitchen and write down the address to the Mud House. I leave it on the table for Elsa just in case. I sigh nervously and flip my phone over in my hands. One more thing.
My unsteady fingers tap in the number. I shift nervously as it rings. "Hello, I'd like to report unfair unemployment. The name of the employer? Kristoff Bjorgman."
The nervousness from early this morning has faded away. Working with Olaf and Marshall is so much fun. Olaf is silly, always telling jokes, which made the morning rush just fly by. Marshall is a bit of an oaf behind the bar, knocking things over, but he makes up for clumsiness by charming the customers. We found a great rhythm during the rush and it was the most fun I've had at a job since I can remember.
Olaf smiles at me as he balances a lid on his chin that Marshall has drawn a mustache on.
"You boys are great." I laugh and untie my apron as I go to take my ten minute break.
"Do you ever stop smiling or laughing Anna? You seem so happy all the time. What's your secret?" Olaf asks curiously.
I shrug and lean in close, jokingly whispering. "Well, I've got a little secret and she's..."
There's a customer by the counter and instantly I recognize the voice. I look up and see Marshall helping a tall, beautiful blonde. My blonde.
"...here." I finish, glancing down at Olaf and blushing.
I keep my fingers crossed and try to push away the bit of worry that creeps into the back of my mind, mentally wishing Elsa luck.
