Chapter 20 – Sisters in Arms

Mia gaped and looked at the group with new eyes, these were the wives and girlfriends Taylor and Alyssa had spoken about. Before she could begin to speak a tall blonde came forward, "I'm Katherine Hillard Scott, pink Zeo ranger."

"Mia," she tried to speak clearly. "Pink samurai. This is Emily, yellow, and Lauren, believe it or not another red."

"Really?" Katherine smiled. "I guess the boys have their first official red sister now. It's nice to meet you."

"Pleasure," Emily and Lauren chimed together.

Then a petite Asian woman bounded forward, "Cassie Chan, pink Turbo/Space."

She was followed by a brunette-blonde, "Ashley, just call me Ash, yellow Turbo/Space."

"Finally a yellow in this mix," Emily giggled.

Ashley winked at her, "Those two are Alexis and Aryan." She pointed to where two children were examining the flowers.

A shorter woman with blonde hair and glasses took Mia's hand gently, "I'm Kendrix, pink Galaxy ranger."

Another, taller, blonde waved as best she could with the little boy in her arms, "I'm Dana Grayson, pink Lightspeed. This little guy is Jeremy."

Another brunette with chocolate brown eyes came up to her, "Jen Collins, pink Timeforce."

"And you obviously know us," Taylor gestured to herself and Alyssa. "But her -" she pointed to one with waist length brown hair, "I don't think you want to meet her. She's nuts, just look at her choice in boyfriends."

The woman crossed her arms, "Ha ha very funny Taylor. I'm Kira Ford," She added to the others. "Yellow Dino ranger and I'm Tommy's girlfriend."

"You brave, brave woman," Ashley smirked.

"I'm the only one here who's NOT a ranger," another one spoke up. "I'm Krista, Connor's girlfriend. I was let in on the secret last year."

"Wow that must've been a trip," Lauren commented.

"I didn't even believe him until I saw this video of them morphing," Krista said wryly. She looked around, "Where's Vida and Rose?"

"Right here," a tan woman with short pink hair came up with box. "Sorry, had to get some more stuff from the car. I'm Vida, pink Mystic Force."

"And I'm Rose," another Asian woman appeared jogging up carry loads of bags. "Pink Overdrive ranger."

"Geez you think you have enough there Rose?" Kira asked.

"Wedding or not, they eat like vacuum cleaners," Rose responded. "I can almost guarantee there will be no leftovers."

Finally Mia managed to pull herself together, "You guys came for the wedding? We have seats but the food?"

"Got it covered," Katherine motioned around to all bags, containers, boxes everyone was toting. "We're here to stand in for Jayden's side. The boys couldn't bear to leave him in the lurch so they called before leaving and asked us to put their suits on the Megaship and get ready to come over today. We're family, all of us, even those that aren't here. They send their best wishes and we even have gifts from some."

Mia felt overwhelmed, "Thank you, I don't – how can I -"

"MIA!" a voice shouted. The bride's father was striding purposely up to them, not looking very happy at all. "Where is your groom? The ceremony starts in a little over an hour."

Mia went to answer but Kim jumped in, "We're sorry sir but that would be our fault."

Mia's father stopped, surveying them all, "And who are you?"

"Jayden's extended family," she replied with complete confidence.

The older man narrowed his eyes, "Jayden told me -"

"Our fault again," Kim smiled pleasantly. "We weren't sure if we could make it to the wedding, especially since we all live out of town. So we told Jayden not to plan on us coming just in case we couldn't. Anyway right now Jayden is with our husbands helping get them settled into the hotel for the night. We came ahead to help Mia and give her our support." Kim lied so smoothly that more than half of them actually believed her by the end, Mia's father stood no chance.

The man nodded stiffly, "Alright then." He walked away again without another word.

"Wow, how did you do that?" Emily stared at the veteran ranger awestruck.

"You have to learn how to lie when you're a ranger," Kim shrugged. "Not exactly a skill you can brag about but still it has its uses."

"Tell me about it," Ash sighed. "Moving on, let's start setting up."

Emily went straight into wedding-planner-mode, "I think we have some extra tables in the basement for the food and the chairs need to be arranged properly. The aisle needs to be laid out and the trellis needs to be decorated. Mia's brother is charge of the stage, you'll have to see what he needs done and gifts go in the living room."

"Aye aye captain," Vida mock-saluted. "Come on ladies, we've got work to do."

"WAIT!" Mia called out. "Has anyone heard from the reds?"

All eyes went to Ash who pulled out some device from her pocket, shaking her head while looking at it. "I can't get a good signal to communicate with the ship but the fact there is one means that the ship is fine. Wherever this island is, it must be really far or have serious magnetic distortion going on. This tracker works all the way to Mirinoi and that's in another galaxy altogether."

"Maybe that's why the samuraizers didn't work," Emily said comprehendingly. "Our communicators," she explained to the questioning glances.

"Maybe mine might work, it runs off magic," Vida handed the box she was carrying to Kira and flipped open her wand phone. "Come on Nick…" she muttered while holding it to her ear. After a tense moment she cried, "NICK! NICK! Can you hear me?!" She sent a frustrated expression to the group. "NICK – WHERE – ARE – YOU?! WHAT? I can't – NICK! Damn!" She shut the phone frustrated, "It's useless you can barely hear anything."

"So we know the ship is good and at least one of them is safe," Kira sighed.

"Look if Master Org had won we would've known by now," Taylor reiterated. "His target is earth, if he won he would've come back and started destroying everything sight."

"We're going to have to postpone," Mia said with finality. "There's one hour left for the ceremony," she added to Lauren, "We had a deal."

"Alright," Cassie interjected. "Let's calm down here, we can't just start acting like the sky is falling and have everyone freak out. Mia you go inside and get ready – WAIT!" she forestalled the pink samurai, "Me, Ash, Kendrix, and Vida since she managed to make contact, will get to work figuring out where they are. The rest of you are on ground control, do what needs to get done and try to keep Mia's family from becoming suspicious. Once we figure out where they are, Mia you're going to fake the stomach flu and we'll go after their red spandex-covered behinds. Agreed?"

"What if you can't find them before the ceremony is supposed to start?" Lauren asked.

"Mia still fakes stomach flu and we continue searching," Cassie said easily.

"Works for me," Mia said immediately.

"Everyone else?" Cassie checked and the rest buzzed in assent. She gripped her fist and cracked her knuckles, "Let's do this."
