A note to anyone who hasn't figured it out yet: this story is obviously written most commonly in the third person limited point of view, revolving around Quinn. Because of this, many important scenes are left out of the story because Quinn was not there to witness them (i.e. Finn and Rachel's first real romantic scene in the auditorium.) I will try to remember from here on out to have side scenes from other characters' points of view so that important scenes are included, but I may not always do this. If cases like this happen, the best thing to do if you do not understand what is going on in a scene because an earlier scene was left out is to go back and re-watch the show. Beginning in this chapter, I will post before the beginning of each chapter what episode it takes place during. This will help you pinpoint scenes that may have been left out. I'm sorry for rambling so much. I'll let you read now.

Chapter 20: Morning Sickness
"I can't believe you're making us come to practice on a Saturday morning, Mr. Schue." Puck said as he plopped down in a chair between Santana and Mike.
"I'm sorry Puck, but now that Rachel's gone we're going to have to come up with some way of replacing her." Mr. Schue explained. "And we're going to need to modify the choreography to suit whoever we find to take her place."
"Why can't we just convince her to come back?" Finn asked. "I mean, she loves Glee Club. I bet if we offer her the solo she'll jump at the chance to come back."
"I doubt it'll be that easy, Finn." Quinn said. "And to tell you the truth, I don't think it's completely about the solo."
"W-what do you mean?" Tina asked.
"When I went after her yesterday, she had that hurt look in her eyes." Kurt was about to speak up, but Quinn stopped him. "Not the type of hurt she gets when she's passed over for a solo. The type of hurt like there's something really emotionally bothering her."
"Then we should find out what it is and clear it up so we can get home girl back where she belongs." Mercedes said.
"A good plan of action Mercedes, but it's lacking an execution." Scott said. "How are we going to find out what's bothering Rachel? She refuses to talk to any of us."
"Guys, I know all of you want to help Rachel, but right now we need to focus on Sectionals." Mr. Schue interrupted. "Quinn and Finn need to practice their solos for Don't Stop Believin'." The words shocked Quinn. With all of the drama over the past few weeks with her developing (and receding) friendship with Rachel and the pregnancy, she had forgotten that Mr. Schue had assigned her the female solo for their main performance.
"You guys have fun. I'm going to go see if I can figure out what's up with Rachel."
"Hold up, Scott." Mariah said. "I'll go with you." The two stood and left the room.
"Okay, I guess we'll just practice without them." Mr. Schue said. It seemed like Scott and Mariah leaving had no effect on his excitement. "Quinn, Finn, are you guys ready?" Finn stood at the front of the now standing New Directions without a second thought, and Quinn hesitantly followed his lead. As the other members of New Directions began the performance behind them, Quinn locked eyes with Finn and immediately forgot about Rachel as she sucked in the love that seemed to be flowing freely from her boyfriend's smile.
Bold: Finn
Italics: Quinn
Just a small town girl,
Living in a lonely world
He took the midnight train
Going anywhere.
Just a city boy,
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train
Going anywhere
Quinn did her best to copy the dance moves Mr. Schue and Rachel had taught her for the solo and she believed she was doing well as she and Finn looped behind the rest of the Club so they could begin their next verse.
A singer in a smokey room
The smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on, and on, and on, and on.
The song was cut off as Quinn suddenly covered her mouth and ran from the room as quickly as possible in the direction of the bathroom, leaving the rest of the club standing in shock.
"Quinn, you okay?" Mr. Schue asked as she ran out the door.
"I think she just had a bad breakfast burrito." Finn said.
"Look, can we please stop dancing around it and talk about the giant elephant in the room?" Kurt asked.
"Your sexuality?" Santana asked.
"Rachel." Kurt responded with a pointed glance at the Latina. "Scott's right, we need her."
"That's not true." Mr. Schue said. "We may have to layer Santana and Mercedes over Quinn's solo, but…we'll be fine."
"Maybe for the Invitationals, but not for Sectionals, and certainly not for Regionals." Artie said.
"The wheelchair kid's right." Puck said, to everyone's surprise. "That Rachel chick makes me want to light myself on fire, but she can sing."
"Rachel left guys." Mr. Schue said. "She's gone. Now if we're going to make this work, we can't look back." Everyone was silent as they took this in, but most of them remained firm in their feelings that they needed Rachel. "Alright, take 5, guys. That should give Quinn, Scott and Mariah enough time to get back."
Meanwhile, With Quinn
Quinn had made it to the bathroom just in time to lean over the nearest toilet and literally lose her breakfast. As she was singing she had suddenly felt the rising tension in her stomach and knew she needed to get to the bathroom to avoid an incident with the Glee Club that might have ended up with them finding out about her pregnancy. Frankly, either way she felt miserable. The entirety of her breakfast and what little bit of the small, late dinner she and Scott had consumed the night before that had yet to be digested was now floating around the surface of the toilet water.
'So this is what it's like to have morning sickness.' Quinn thought to herself as she stood up from where she had been on her knees, leaning over the toilet. 'I guess the other moms weren't exaggerating when they said that this is the worst part of pregnancy besides labor.' Quinn pulled a toothbrush and tube of toothpaste out of her purse, suddenly very glad Scott had forced her to take them with her every day. She didn't want to go back to Glee with barf breath and chunks of last night's dinner all over the inside of her mouth. While she was brushing her teeth, the bathroom door opened and Quinn quickly spit out the toothpaste and hid the toothbrush in her purse.
"Quinn?" the blonde relaxed when she heard Rachel's voice enter the room through the cracked door. "Is it okay for me to come in?"
"Yeah, Rach." Quinn said. "You can come in. It's a public restroom." Rachel opened the bathroom door the rest of the way and walked in, standing hesitantly at the entrance.
"I didn't want to disturb you." The diva explained. "You ran into the bathroom so quickly, you probably didn't even notice me at my locker. It seemed like an emergency and I wanted to make sure I didn't get in the way. Did you just-?" Rachel gestured at the toilets and Quinn nodded sheepishly.
"I'm a little over a month in, right about the time when most pregnant people start having morning sickness. I guess I'm not one of the lucky few who don't have to deal with it." Quinn turned back to the mirror and pulled her toothbrush back out. "You don't mind if I finish, do you? I can still taste my breakfast." Rachel made a disgusted face, causing Quinn to giggle inwardly.
"No, go ahead. And please, spare me the details." Quinn nodded and went back to the task of cleaning out her mouth. "So why are you here on a Saturday?"
"Glue precteece." Quinn said through the toothpaste. "Minster Chue thenks wu nood extru pructuce wuth chue gun sew wuul buredy foor suctonuls."
"Sorry?" Quinn spit the toothpaste out again, having finally finished cleaning her mouth.
"I said, Glee practice. Mr. Schue thinks we need extra practice now that you're gone so that we'll be ready for Sectionals."
"Oh."
"What about you?"
"Musical practice. Mr. Ryerson wants to place himself in the show somehow and he's demanding that we have extra rehearsals so that he can get into character better." Rachel rolled her eyes at the thought.
"You sound like the musical isn't everything you wanted it to be."
"No, it is, it's just… well, Mr. Ryerson is so demanding. Everything needs to be the way he wants it." Quinn looked up and smirked at Rachel in the mirror.
"Oh, so that's what this is about." The blonde said, as if she had suddenly figured out the meaning of life.
"What what is about? You're confusing me, Quinn. And that's very difficult to do."
"Your high horse placed on the side, the reason why you're having problems is because of clashing personalities." Rachel continued to stare at Quinn with a blank look.
"What are you talking about?"
"You want the play to be performed the traditional way, the way it was performed on Broadway. Sandy, on the other hand, wants to change it to fit his personal plans. Unfortunately for you, as director of the play, Sandy has creative control, so he gets to do what he wants. It's an exact replica of what you think you're going through with Glee. Mr. Schue is trying to spread the solos to everyone so it isn't focused on a single person or pair and you feel like every solo you don't get is a stab in the back. But as director, he has that right, so you can't do anything about it."
"You gathered all that from me saying Mr. Ryerson wants everything his way?" Rachel asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Rachel, Finn could've figured that out. It's sort of obvious when you see both sides of it. Now let me give you a little advice, from one friend to another. You should come back to Glee. Everyone really misses you, Rachel. You have an amazing voice, and no matter how many times and ways Schuester says it, there's no way we'll be able to win without you. I mean, look at us. I'm the star player with you gone, and I'm not even able to sing more than thirty seconds before I get sick because I'm pregnant."
"I don't know, Quinn. I just don't think I can do it. I mean, I've already got the play to deal with, and…"
"Then quit the play. Seriously, how long do you think you'll be able to put up with the only other person in this school who is more dead set on having things the way he wants them than you are?"
"I resent that. I'm not that high maintenance."
"Rach, I'm your best friend. Take it from me. Other than Sandy, no one is more high maintenance than you are. Please, Rach. Come back to Glee Club. For me?"
"I'll have to think about it." Rachel said. "Give me a couple of days and I'll let you know what I decide." Quinn smiled and nodded. With that Rachel left the cheerleader alone in the bathroom.
Now that the chapter is over, I'd like to get your opinions on something. I haven't made a final decision as to whether or not I'm going to put April Rhodes in the story. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of her character, but at the same time I can think of a few things I could do with her if I did put her in. So I'll leave it up to you. April: yes or no? Let me know what you think and you'll find out next chapter whether or not she's going to appear. As a sort of side note to this, there are a few other things I'd like your opinions on for the future of this story/series, so I'm going to put up a poll on my profile that I'd like everyone reading this to take part in.
