This is short but i felt that i needed to get something out. I will be going on holiday to Spain for two weeks as of the 16th so i will try and update more before then as i won't have my laptop with me when i do go i don't think.

Disclaimer – I don't own anything from the Skulduggery Pleasant series as of yet. No characters or quotes. Although i'm still waiting for a reply from Derek as to whether the rights are up for sale yet.

Valkyrie

Pain.

That was the first thing that Valkyrie could acknowledge.

Unbelievable pain.

Then it was sound.

People talking.

Shouting.

Screaming.

Doing whatever they can to be heard it seemed.

Valkyrie just wished that they'd all be quiet.

Then the pain took everything away.

Leaving silence.

Seeing nothing. Hearing nothing. Sensing nothing but the pain.

But then there was sight.

There was a white light shining towards her in the darkness of her mind.

She could only imagine all of the scenes from the movies where 'don't go into the light' is the only thing said.

She laughed slightly t herself as the pain began to recede rapidly. Leaving her feeling free if slightly empty.

What would Skulduggery say at a time like this?

I can only wonder. But let me save you.

Darquesse. Damn. The peace is shattered.

She laughed again as she floated towards the light but then she…no…Darquesse was blocking her way.

"It isn't your time yet". She crooned whilst reaching out to grasp her hands. Valkyrie moved back quickly to dodge her.

"Who are you to say that?"

"I don't know what has happened to your mind but is that what you really want?"

"I have no idea what you mean."

Voices suddenly broke through into the void which they were currently in.

"You're not stealing anything, you're not breaking anything, so I'd guess you're Stephanie."

"Skulduggery?" Valkyrie asked tentatively to the air around her. That was the very first thing he'd ever said to her.

"I woke up, a bag of bones. Literally. They had gathered up my bones and put them in a bag and thrown the bag into a river."

She laughed slightly. Remembering the first time she'd learnt his story.

"Tides do what tides do - they turn."

Valkyrie began to contemplate the words of Skulduggery Pleasant. He was right. At the time she hadn't fully understood what he meant but now?

"Thank you for saving me."

Valkyrie's eyes began to tear up as she realised just how stupid she'd been.

"Until the end,"

"Until the end." Valkyrie whispered back. Openly crying now as she turned away from the light and Darquesse and began to move deeper into the darkness.

As she did so her senses began to return. It wasn't time to give up the fight yet. There were still people who needed her. Skulduggery for starters. If she died now… Well… It wasn't a pleasant sight to depict…

She smiled as sound returned and she could hear everything that was happening around her body.

"Save her!" Skulduggery's voice sounded frantically.

"I'm trying." Nye's voice returned then there was a silence. "She's back." Nye iterated.

Valkyrie, knowing she'd done the right thing slipped into a blissful sleep.

Well. That happened. I had a dream like this a couple of nights ago although I woke up in my bedroom instead of on Nye's operating table. That would have been weird… I couldn't get it out of my head then when writing this… It came out… Does it work?

Skulduggery's view next and the fight with the warlock. Tell me what you think will happen in a review or a PM and you never know, it may happen.
