Happy anniversary! I can't believe that it's been three years since I first published this story! I want to thank everyone that has stuck by it so far.
We're going to get a ball scene in this chapter. A merpeople ball!

Chapter 21 The Ball
Mabel's POV
That Night
Meria, Dipper and I were getting ready for the ball.
Meria was wearing a blood red corset with a black, sweetheart necklace; a blood red, tail length over skirt that was black at the bottom; black, wrist length gloves; a black lace chocker with a blood red, rose shaped pendant and a thin, black, metal bangle that curved at the ends on her forearm.
Her hair was tied into a bun with a blood red rose in it. How she managed to do that hair style underwater beat me.
I was wearing a bubblegum pink, sleeveless top with a sweetheart neckline and ruffles at the bottom that made a skirt, bubblegum pink, fingerless, wrist length, lace gloves and a bubblegum chocker with a pink, heart shaped pendant.
My hair was loose, because I did not know how to style my hair underwater like Meria did.
"Are you sure that this is going to work Mabel", Dipper asked.
"Trust me bro", I stated. "It will."
"Diablo's father might here", Meria pointed out. "What do we do about that?"
"I've got that covered too Meria", I revealed before picking up some masks.
Meria and Dipper took theirs' as the rest of the band swam up to us.
"You guys look great", one of the members stated. "Okay. It's show time!"
Five Minutes Later
We were swimming through the ballroom of the palace.
"I've always wanted to go to a ball", I said excitedly.
With that trumpets went off and a finely dressed walrus appeared.
"Who's that", I asked.
"That's the walrus king", Meria revealed.
"Hello my fellow subjects", the walrus king greeted. "It is a great honour to introduce my daughter, the walrus princess, and her fiancé, Mermando!"
With that the walrus princess and Mermando appeared.
"There he is", I said excitedly. "It's go time!"
With that Mermando and the walrus princess sat down in a couple of thrones.
"And now", the walrus king started. "The royal band will perform a song in honour of the happy couple!"
With that the band and I performed 'Clarity' by Zed.
During the song I swam up to Mermando and started dancing with him. Then Dipper and Meria continued to distract everyone as I pulled him away.
"Mermando", I said before pulling my mask off. "It's me! A Mabel!"
"Mabel", Mermando said in shock. "What are you doing here? How are you a mermaid?"
"I'm using Meria's transformation necklace", I revealed. "We've come to get you!"
"We", Mermando asked in confusion.
"Dipper, Meria and I", I revealed before grabbing onto Mermando's hand. "Come on! Let's get out of here!"
With that I grabbed Mermando's hand and tried to pull him away...but he pulled me back.
"Mermando", I started. "What are you waiting for? Let's go!"
With that Mermando pulled his hand out of mine.
"I'm sorry Mabel", he said. "But I'm not going back."
