-Chapter 21: A Hunter's Thoughts And a Vampire's Desperation -

Vatican City, Rome

A priest job is never easy; neither being a vampire hunter as well.

A father of twins... twin girls... It has it's ups and downs, but this job has to the most complicated and hardest thing he, Seiji Komori, has ever done in his life. The girls are not his by blood. He did had a choice to raise them. He doesn't regret it. They were his pride and joy. The blessings in this harsh life to him. Nevertheless, being a father is not the easiest job he has ever done.

"Yui... Minori..." He said as he look out the window in the car. He stare at his reflection. The years have done him well. He was in his mid-thirties. His hair is a short blonde, similar to his daughters, except his green eyes that grown weary by the years. He's on his way to the Vatican City, Rome. He was summon, as well as other vampire hunters. It must be urgent if it's at the headquarters.

It's been almost 3 months now. He hasn't heard a word from either of his children. Knowing them, he can imagine Yui crying to him on phone while Minori yelling at him for being a useless father he is.

Seiji smile at the thought. He can just imagine it. He know them too well, after all he did indeed raise them. They must be fine. Yui is a good girl. She has a kind heart, and a gentle smile that draws people to her. By now, he knows she must have made some friends. He's not worried about her being picked on. Minori has got her cover. Despite being the younger one, his second daughter always looked for the oldest. What can he say. Minori adores Yui. It's a natural thing of a younger sibling to do. She always adore Yui, and loves her so much. Though there are times where Minori will be jealous of Yui, another natural sibling thing. Nevertheless she loves her no matter what.

Yui... Her smiles always brightens any one's day. She is so gentle and kind. No matter who you are, she will reach out to you. He loves that about her. She always helped out around the church, especially children. They loved her. She always read stories to them. People are drawn to her, whether it's love or hate. She has such a pure heart. In a way she is like the sunlight. So bright, so warm, the feel of it is gentle.

Minori... Her stubbornness is her strength as well as weakness. Despite her blunt, and sarcastic nature. She's very protective and loyal to ones dear to her. Often she will take the downfall for them. She's very unselfish. He loves that about her. She doesn't want to admit it, but she cares for others. She just has trouble of saying it, but showing it is no problem. She is like the flames of the sun. So bright, but yet very hot and harsh.

He misses them very dearly. Minori's constant rude behavior, Yui's gentle smile. If only his children are here with him... One day he will tell them everything. The vampires, and his... job... He wish he can tell them, but... they're not ready yet.

"Senji-sensei, we're here." One of his apprentices said. Seiji snap out of his thoughts and focus outside. Indeed he was here. It's been awhile since he been at the head-quarters.

He sigh, "Let's go, Samuel." He said as they both exit out of the car. He stood outside and took a deep breath of the air. It was like coming home in a way. This place brought many memories: good and bad. How long has it been since he's been here?

"I see Rayne-san, and Ryuu's group is going out on a mission." Samuel commented.

Seiji look over to see the young raven-hair vampire hunter walking along with the group she's always with. The leader of the group, Ryuu, one of his apprentices. He has trained him well, but he's still the same cold boy long ago. Seiji look over, and his eyes lower at the sight of a smaller brown-hair boy walking along side of him. "Sora... I see he's still with them." He said.

Samuel look at him. "Yeah, why?"

"That child doesn't belong in the world they're in. It will corrupt him, and eventually destroy who he once was." Seiji said as he walks towards the entrance of the headquarters. In a way, Sora reminds him of his dear daughter, Yui. Even he can imagine Yui not being able to handle this. She's too pure. 'Perhaps it's best to keep this a secret a longer...' He thought to himself as he enters inside.

Vampire hunters must never trust a vampire, nor saved one. For is it one of the greatest sins of humanity to God.

Mintei Academy High School, Nurse's Office

Yui sneeze again, she can't believe Ayato. He pulls her out of class, and then tosses her in a pool. Apparently he tries to teach her how to swim, but his "teachings" didn't help her at all. Though it did get interesting later on.

Her face turn red at the thought of it. She can still remember him, holding her close, so possessively like he was afraid she will slip away from his grasp. The way he looked at her made her heart beat faster, and her stomach flutter with a strange warm feeling. Call her paranoid, but was he going to kiss her? Then again he did before, but...

'I'll be your first in everything.'

Yui shook her head, and wrap the blanket around her to calm her shuddering body. She knows Ayato is that kind of person. She shouldn't get her hopes up.
All she is to him is someone he owes, because he is Yours Truly. "It won't be too bad if he could be a little nicer..."

"Who could be nicer?"

Yui gasp as she was now staring at Kanato who is standing a few feet way from her. When did he get here? "Kanato-kun, why are you here? I thought you was with Laito-kun and Ayato-kun." She said. She thought he was. They seem annoyed with Ayato earlier, and Laito did say they wanted to have a "talk" with Ayato.

"Teddy, do you think Yui-san is avoiding us?" Kanato ask his teddy bear in his arms.

"Eh?"

"We never been alone together. You're always with others. Do you truly hate me?" He tilt his head to the side. Yui can clearly side in his pale purple eyes that he is annoyed, and hurt. He's such a child. It's... almost cute in a way.

"I-I don't hate you, Kanato-kun! I never thought about it until-"

"Now? You really are a stupid woman." Kanato said angrily as he start walking towards her. "You think I will let you get away with being with the others, and not me. You're a cruel woman."

Yui start scooting back, but before she could fully get away, Kanato grab her arm harshly. "K-Kanato-kun!" Yui gasp as she felt her arm being gripped more. "It hurts! L-Let me go."

Kanato frown, "Why? You're going to ignore me again. You're the same as her!" Kanato sneered as his grip tighten more. "You say you like me, but yet you ignore me, ignore me, and ignore me! No matter how hard I tried, you will never recognize me as the others! It makes me sick to my stomach!"

Yui knew who he is referring her to. It was Cordelia, his mother. She never gave him motherly attention. She made him crave for her so much that he became this clingy obsessive person. He has a love/hate for his mother. So in way she can tell he does for her. Though she is not Cordelia, and never will be like that woman. "K-Kanato-kun! I-I'm sorry, please let go!"

"You always look at them with those eyes... and not me... am I not good enough?"

Yui's eyes widen as she was staring at his eyes. They were filled with sadness, and she couldn't help, but feel sorry for him even more. She could feel his pain and loneliness. It must have been so lonely to not have your mother's attention. She can't imagine it, nor what it feels like.

His hold on her loosen, enough for her to lean forward and hug him. If her sister was here, she would call her an idiot, but she don't care. She don't care if she is stupid to be hugging one of the people who hurt her. She don't care. She just wants to ease his pain away, even if it's a for a little bit.

"It's okay... I'm not her... I'm not her... I'll always be by your side." Yui said as she held him closer. She close her eyes, feel him be hesitant about it. He might hit her or yell at her for doing such a thing, but instead he hug her back and held her tightly like a child.

"Promise me, and Teddy. Promise me you will always be my side..." He hug her tighter. "Choose me and not them..."

Choose him, and not them? What is he talking about? "I... Kanato-kun..."

"Promise me! I need to know what you say is true!" He yelled as his grip tighten more. Yui knew the answer what he wanted, but should choose him? Kanato does have his moments, he can be sweet, and his clingliness is endearing and makes her heart beat fast. Then again...

"I-"

"Ka-na-to-kun!" Yui looks over to see Laito standing by the door with a smile. She could feel Kanato's hold on her tighten more, similar to how Ayato was earlier.

"Laito..."

Laito smile widen more. "I guess Ayato-kun isn't the only one that like to cheat." He said. "Maybe it's time to start following the rules or otherwise I too will cheat as well. You wouldn't want your big brother do that now, do you Kanato-kun?" Laito's expression darken as a smirk appear on his face. It send shivers down Yui's spine just like during that time when they play 21 questions. "Well it doesn't matter, I always get what I want, even if it belong to someone else."

A/N: This was focus on Yui and Seiji Komori. I was asked by a few people to do a chapter of him. Well sadly as you can see he goes to Rome, to find out the news and the truth about his daughters. Yes, he will make an impact on the story. A Friend or Foe it's up to you to decide.

Here you go Kanato/Yui fans. Yes Kanato can be sweet, but that's RARELY haha Don't worry they will have more moments later on. Next chapter Laito/Yui fans will love it.
