A/N: I'm taking some liberties with the character of Sin. I wasn't going to use her originally but now it seems like my muse has decided that is who the 'bad guy' is. She won't exactly follow the personality of the comic book character but I hope that you all understand and don't mind. Thank you! And look at this! Another update! I'm rolling along now. Sort of! Thank you again for your 101 follows, 64 reviews, 61 favorites and the astounding 15550 views that you have given this story. You all, and your support, amaze me!
The redhead paced the length of the room, her heels clicking on the concrete floor. She stood in a nearly barren room in a recently abandoned warehouse. The last thing that she concerned herself with was the fact that this place was for sale. She knew that, for now, she had the run of this place and that when she was done here, no one would be the wiser. It wasn't as if this place was important to anyone after all. It was just another abandoned building waiting to be knocked down in favor of luxury apartments or maybe a couple of frivolous boutiques or art galleries. Right now she felt like the building was being put to good use. Her goal seemed far more satisfying to her than the idea of this place being filled with people shopping or the cries of small children as families moved into the area.
Her hands rested on her shapely hips as she tried to work out what her next move was going to be. She really hadn't expected it to be this difficult for her to truly get to Captain America. By now she would have assumed that he would have been hunting her down. Yet the captain wasn't reacting quite the way that she wanted him to and his woman wasn't either. She had wanted the blond so scared that she would be sending Steve Rogers off to get the redhead. She had thought that the super soldier would have been running head first for her but instead he was at his little blond's side. She let out a sigh as she stopped, standing in front of a large window. From here, she had a good view of Brooklyn. From here, she could watch the people and cars moving along as if they had somewhere important to be.
"Insects," she said with a scoff and a roll of her eyes. Watching these people made her feel superior although the truth was that everything made her feel superior to the people around her. She was, after all, better than every last one of them. "Every one of them."
"Then why haven't you squashed them all?"
The redhead whipped around at the familiar voice coming from behind her. He wasn't anyone important but he was at her side through this mission. He was her second-in-command at the moment although it wasn't as if someone else wasn't waiting in the wings to take this man's place as quickly as it could be vacated. She narrowed her bright green eyes at the figure in the shadows, arms folding across her chest. "Where have you been?" she snapped, almost growling the words.
The large, dark-haired man stepped under the florescent lighting with a wicked grin on his thin lips. He licked those lips as he looked her over before speaking. "Been tryin' to keep an eye on the Cap," he said with a flippant shrug. He wasn't afraid of the woman in front of him. That much was clear from the way that he walked over to her with that grin on his lips. "Been doin' like you asked of me, Sin. You know he won't leave her side now. Right?"
Sin rolled her eyes and waved a dismissive hand at the large man. She knew that she hadn't gone about this in quite the right way. Her father wouldn't be happy with the way that she was trying to draw Captain America out but she was tired of waiting for one of her father's plans to work. All he was doing these days seemed to be plotting his next move and complaining about why this wouldn't work or that would be a ridiculous plan. Sin wanted to act. She wanted to fight. What she was doing now was already starting to wear on what little patience she had. She knew that she was going to have to do something big to draw out the all-American superhero.
Her next move was going to have to be well planned, however, because she knew that going in half-cocked would just result in the loss of men. She bit her lip for a moment before a grin slowly played on her features. She stood in front of the man in front of her, one of a dozen men that her father had allowed her to take with her before she left to try her hand at getting Steve Rogers. This man meant nothing to her. He was a foot soldier and nothing more. Still her hand rested on his broad chest and she gave him her best sweet smile. Manipulating these men was easy for her. All she had to do was sway her hips a little, bat her eyelashes a bit, smile sweetly and they all fell into line. This man was no different. She saw how his dark eyes widened just slightly at the touch of her hand after all and Sin had to bite back a laugh.
"Tomorrow I want you and three of your best men to do me a favor. If I'm going to grab that silly little thing that the captain seems to call his fiancé these days, I'm going to need his attention elsewhere. Tomorrow I want you and your men to rob a bank. It doesn't matter which one and it doesn't matter what you take. It will be something to distract people with. I want you to make sure, however, that you end up on camera," she said with a slow nod. "Don't get caught by the local police but leave something behind that might tell the captain that we're here. Maybe that will help draw him out so that I can finish implementing my plan."
The man's head tilted slightly but he didn't argue. He just nodded and mumbled a 'yes, ma'am' to her before he turned to gather his men, his mind already turning as he tried to decide who to take with him. Sin watched for a moment before letting out a soft chuckle. She rolled her eyes and waved a dismissive hand yet again with a grin on her lips. He would do as he was told and she would hopefully be able to get her hands on that blond. Maybe if she had a hostage, then she would finally get Steve Rogers's attention.
