I know I haven't updated in forever but we got so many tests and there's all. These school functions so yeah, sorry about that. Once the tests are over it'll be a lot better.

Nettlepaw was answering the questions Runningstrike asked. But Owlpaw was half listening. It couldn't be true, it just wasn't possible.

It wasn't possible that Runningstrike could love her like that. It just couldn't be right. The little voice inside her head was telling her to growl in his face and walk away. The rest of her was telling her that she had just heard the thing she most wanted to hear in her life.

The medicine cat code and Goldenblaze stopped her from saying so out loud. Goldenblaze! What would he think? She loved him too. She had known this for a while now but only whispered it to herself as she slept. Her feeling for Runningstrike where always there but only when he had said it, did she realize it was true for herself.

Froststem seemed so innocent at the moment.

"Owlheart, did you hear that?"

"What?"

"Froststem might be trying to make Nettlepaw jealous."

"Oh."

"So now what?"

"How much have you told Nettlepaw?"

"Told me what?" Nettlepaw butted in. "What's this about?"

Runningstrike knew that this young cat couldn't know the truth.

"We were just confused as to why Calmwind might become mates with Froststem, that's all."

Nettlepaw's jaw dropped, much like Owlpawheart's had.

"She what?"

"May or may not become mates with Calmwind."

"But he's her kin! This isn't right, not at all."

Then he sort of got this look in his eyes and began to walk away slowly.

"Nettlepaw, you won't tell will you?" Owlheart called after him.

Nettlepaw just looked at her, stricken. "I thought we would…you know. One day."

He started to run and didn't stop.

"Owlheart, I think we should go back to camp before we're missed."

"I'll race you?"

He nodded. "Okay."

Owlheart noticed he was running slowly to match her pace. His coat gleamed and for the first time Owlheart realized he was extremely handsome. Uh, how she hated love! It felt so consuming like someone else had taken over your body.

"Stop, I think I stepped on something." Runningstrike said coming to a sudden halt. He lifted up his paw for her to look at. There was nothing there.

"What do you think?"

Owlheart had enough sense to know what he was talking about.

"I think… I don't know what I think! I wish life wasn't so confusing."

"It's that ThunderClan medicine cat isn't it?"

Owlheart nodded. "I…"

"You don't have to decide anything right now."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, obviously you're going to have to make a choice between your passion, me and that ThunderClan cat eventually."

Owlheart felt slightly angry at him for calling Goldenblaze 'that ThunderClan cat'.

"And what if you're not my choice?"

"I'm sure Ferretfang and her sister will need some company."

"You're being pretty calm about this considering I just asked that question."

"I know you'll do what's best."

"I know you'll do what's best," Greenmint imitated. "Owlheart, what in StarClan's name are you getting yourself into? You're supposed to go around being a good medicine cat who helps every clan no matter what!"

Owlheart didn't meet her role model's eyes. "I can't help it."

Greenmint sighed. "That's not what I'm here to tell you about. This may be a shock for you but remember when I showed you your mother? That wasn't her. It was a friend of mine, Darkberry."

"What? You lied to me! Where is she? Where is my mother?"

"She's not here."

"What do you mean she's not here?!"

"Listen, Owlheart. Long ago I received a prophecy about a dark cloud. When your mother received her warrior name I was convinced it was her. The other medicine cats agreed with me that it was possible. You see, when she was an apprentice I watched her murder kits."

"What? That's a lie."
"It is not. She licked their blood afterwards and said it tasted good!"

"You're lying to me!"

"No, I am not. She's in the place of no stars now. But the prophecy hasn't been fulfilled so I knew it had to be either you or your sister. And I know it cannot be you because you were a good cat. Now I'm not so sure."

Owlheart hissed. "Firstly, if I want a mate I will have one. Secondly, if you are telling me the truth, which you're not, I don't care. I don't want to be part of some dark cloud thing. Goodbye, Greenmint."

"Owlheart, what do you think you're doing?"

"I'm leaving! Icicleheart was right about you!"

Goldenblaze was having his own problems. His former best friend was curled around the two kits and he couldn't get anywhere near them. They were pretty kits, Riverkit and Pondkit they were named. Riverkit was white with black paws and pretty blue eyes while Pond kit was the same but with golden eyes.

Robinwing was filling their little minds with lies about him and his family. Pondkit never seemed to listen but Riverkit did. In fact, she actually seemed like she enjoyed listening. But something about her reminded Goldenblaze of Owlheart. How he wished he could see her now.

"Goldenblaze, can you help me please?" Peachflower asked sweetly.

"Oh, sure. What do you need?"
"I would like some poppy seeds for Spinningwing. He says he's got a bad headache and wants to sleep it off."

"Okay. They're right in the front on your left as you walk in. Take him one or two seeds."

"Alright. There's something else…Robinwing is telling his kits-"

"I know!" He snapped. "I don't understand this. You can't save one cat. She was my friend too. And suddenly you're evil. My family's stupid reputation."

Peachflower just listened to him mutter phrases to himself and rested her tail on his shoulder. "Be strong."

Goldenblaze snapped up his head. "Be strong". He was told that in StarClan. And he knew it was true but at the same time impossible.

Froststem came bounding up to Owlheart with a broad grin. "Calmwind and I are mates now!"

"Congratulations!" Owlheart said, pretending to look surprised and happy for her sister.

"Thanks. I have to tell Fallingrain and Frozenclaw and everyone! We'll talk later, okay?"

Owlheart waited until she left the den before muttering, "Oh, we'll talk alright."

Sigh. Tests….
