Chapter 20: Frozen Fractals
This is the ending I want but you more than likely won't like. So if you don't like rather up happy ending don't read.
The next day Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, and Jack came back to her home. Where They received a surprise. Everyone at the party had witnessed the kidnapping luckily no one suspected that the ice blast was from Elsa. She still wasn't herself though, at least Anna didn't think she was. Elsa was acting to distant, like she was far away. Kristoff and Jack had to leave so Anna was determined to figure out what was up with her sister.
"Elsa what's wrong? You seemed so happy a couple days ago and now we're home you seem miserable!" Anna asked throwing herself next to her sister on Elsa's bed. Anna looked up and was surprised to see that the pictures were gone. Well not all of them, but every single one that had Jack in it was gone. "Elsa?" Anna asked softly turning to look at her sister.
Elsa had tears in the corner of her eyes as she looked blankly at the canopy. "Anna I have a job to do, and I can't run off and do it. I love Jack! I love him so much it hurts, but I love this company and you even more. When Jack comes back I'm going to tell him that I can't see him anymore; that its time for me to live in this world alone. I'm never going back to the ice castle, or the North." Elsa finished softly and started to cry in earnest.
"Elsa you don't have stop seeing him! I mean you love him and true love can fix things, it will be hard but…" Anna trailed off as Elsa shook her head.
"No Anna you don't understand, well maybe you will soon but not just yet. I can't be with him and do my work here, because if I'm here I'm thinking about him; but if I'm there I'm thinking about here. This company was left to me, and I swore to take care of you when our parents died; I can't forget that. I've already put you in danger and its time I started really doing my job." Elsa said sitting up and wiping her eyes.
"Anna will you please just support me? Can you just talk to me about something else and not try to fix this? You can't change my mind, I thought about this a lot.' She said softly. Anna nodded and wrapped her arms around Elsa in a big hug.
"Hey you wanna build a snowman?" Anna asked with a sheepish smile. Elsa gave a watery laugh and then nodded. She raised her hand and the room was filled with snow and the girls spent the day playing like they had when they were younger.
Two Days Later:
Elsa was waiting for Jack in the study, he and Kristoff were finally back and it was time to talk with him. Jack came in with a smile and walked up and kissed Elsa lightly, she kissed him back as her eyes began to mist.
"Elsa, snowflake, what's wrong?" Jack asked concerned brushing the tears away. Elsa turned her face away from him and looked out the window.
"Jack I can't do this anymore. You know I love you, but I have a life here that I can't ignore anymore. I think its time I let the icy dream go and take responsibility." Elsa said softly. Jack shook his head in disbelief and touched her shoulder.
"Elsa you can't mean that. We love each other, we were made for one another…You're my ice queen." He said softly which made Elsa turned to him with tears in his eyes.
"You will always be my ice king and one day when I turn this company over to Anna's children I can be your's. But I'll be old and gray Jack, because I'll age because I'm human. Jack you are a guardian, we were only kidding ourselves thinking we could be together." She said sadly
"No look at Clauset and Santa, she was mortal before she became his wife; we can make this work Elsa we can…." He stopped as Elsa shook her head.
"No we can't Jack because by the time I can leave here I'll have aged. And I can't be with you now and freeze my time because people will know. Jack I will always love you, and if you can ever find a way around this age thing I'll go with you…but for now you, me, we….we can't be us anymore." She said desperately trying not to cry.
Jack looked at her and his shoulders sagged. "I won't stop looking for a way to be with you Elsa, I won't stop ever; even if you're taken from this world I'll find away for us to be together. But I understand, I'm not happy and I refuse to not ever see you; but I'll leave now." With that he pulled her to him and kissed her passionately, wrapping her tightly in his arms.
She pulled herself as close to him as she could as she kissed him back, hoping that this last kiss would be able to sustain her for the rest of her life. When Jack pulled away she leaned her head against his chest and sighed softly. "I love you Jack Frost, I'll always be your's." She whispered and then pulled away and dashed from the room.
Jack walked down stairs and said good bye to Kristoff and Anna who were sitting nestled on the couch in front of a fire. Kristoff seemed really disappointed and Anna looked depressed. "Maybe she'll change her mind after a little while." Anna whispered hopefully. Jack shook his head and gave her a small smile before kissing her cheek and disappearing in a cloud of snow.
Anna turned and buried her face in Kristoff's chest. "This is horrible Kristoff, we have to help her as much as we can." She whispered and felt Kristoff nod.
"Yeah we do. But we can't forget to live ourselves alright?" Kristoff whispered and Anna nodded. Her not living a happy life would only make Elsa more sad. "We'll make sure to get married and have lots of kids so she can be happy with us right?" She asked looking up at Kristoff hopefully.
Kristoff smiled and chuckled a little and kissed the top of her head. "Yeah we'll have lots of kids and we'll be here as family and she can treat them like her own." He said gently stroking her cheek. Anna smiled and stood on tiptoes and kissed his lips lightly.
"I'm going to go check on her now, I'm sure she could use a little boost. Stay for dinner?" She said pulling away and heading for the stairs. "Yeah I'll stay, in fact I will cook. Come down in about two hours and you and Elsa will be blown away." Anna nodded and smiled taking the steps two at a time. Kristoff watched her go with a soft smile.
"I really do love her. Jack whenever you are I'll look after Elsa I promise, she's my family now too." He whispered walking into the kitchen.
And thus you have now read the unhappy ending that everyone will hate me for, which is why I will now work on a happier ending for those of you who like those Disney endings ;)
