Chapter Twenty-One:
See
Tsuna was born blind but he didn't mind. Mostly because he didn't have to fear what other kids did, like the dark. He was surrounded by darkness 24/7 and he couldn't be scared of it if he wanted to. Yes, it has its downsides, he can't see his mother's face when he knows she's smiling down at him, or the vibrant colors - she tries her hardest to explain - around the house, but as long as he had his mother he didn't care about his impaired eyes.
It was not until Nana brought him next door to meet his neighbor and current babysitter did he realize how amazing eyesight could be. When they arrived next door he was surprised when something penetrated his dark world. He recognized it as the old lady. She wore colors he never has seen before and couldn't tell which was which despite his mother's efforts. Excitement bubbled in his chest.
He could finally see. Quickly he turned on his heels to face his mother but found she'd already left while he was awestruck. The old lady grabbed his hand and slowly led him into her house. He slightly deflated when he learned that he could only see the woman. Still, nothing could ruin the happiness he felt.
For the rest of the day, he looked at the woman as if she were a goddess who came down from heaven exclusively for him. They spent the whole day playing games and enjoying each others company before the old lady sighed. She looked at Tsuna and said in a slightly raspy tone, "sorry darling, I'm going to take a quick nap and then we can play more."
Tsuna nodded his head and followed her until she stopped and lied a hand on this shoulder as she eased down on what he would think is a chair. She looked at him and smiled before patting her lap signaling him to lay with her. He scurried onto her lap and rested his head on her chest, the rhythmic up and down of her chest lulling him to sleep.
A loud knock on the door jolted Tsuna from his slumber. He groaned before trying to shake the lady awake, but no matter how long or hard he did so she didn't stir. Soon he realized that she wasn't going to wake up. The up and down motion of her chest stopped and her once bronze skin looked pale and sickly.
When his mother made it inside the house she found Tsuna crying in the limp arms of the nice old lady next door.
Sadly, this has nothing to do with the guardians or anything of the matter, I just wanted to write. Remember when I said daily updates? Yeah, me neither. I'm joking but seriously let me just retract what I wrote a long chapter ago because let's be honest, I'm not doing the best. I missed yesterday and I knew that I can't promise double updates all the time and I know for sure I can't update every day. I apologize for that. Thanks for reading!
