JR plowed through the door of the room he was once kept in, slamming it closed behind him. He heard a voice from the room next door.

"I take it the revelation didn't go well?" said a man's voice who he immediately recognized as the assistant. He followed the sound and surprised the man, sneaking behind him and putting him in a headlock. The assistant struggled to breathe, then looked up in horror at his escaped captive.

"Where's Emma?!" JR demanded. The man's face turned bright red.

"We never had her," he breathed. "We planned it out so that we could get the picture…we…we knew the mom was going to save her…and…it wasn't…"

"You don't have her?" JR fumed, finding that hard to believe. "You better be telling me the truth." He tightened his grip on the assistant's neck.

"I am," the man spat, trying desperately to keep oxygen in his lungs. "We never had any of them—Annie, or her kids…just doing what the boss said. We're getting paid—me and Dr. Kalibur."

"Kids?" JR questioned in an angry grunt. "She only has Emma."

"She's got three," the assistant gasped. "Emma…AJ…and a baby…Karen or something… Please, if you let go of me, I'll tell you everything you need to know."

"You mentioned something about a baby?" JR asked for clarification, pacing about the room he was once locked in and peering into the eyes of the assistant, now restrained to the bed that JR was in for God knows how long.

"Yeah," the assistant said, calmer now that he wasn't being strangled and being a complete open book after seeing Dr. Aspen Kalibur's dead body. "She's about a year and a half." JR sighed.

"So she's married to someone else?" he questioned. The assistant shook his head.

"She's single. She has been since she thought you died," the man explained. "The kid's yours."

JR's eyes widened, coating with tears. The reality that Annie thought he was dead just hit him, on top of the shock that he had a little girl.

"Mine?" he whispered. "Annie…she and I have a daughter? Are you sure?" The assistant nodded.

"Carey. I think that's it," he added. JR's eyes widened even more.

"Oh God…Babe…" he whispered to himself, tears falling down his cheeks. "That's why…AJ…when Babe was alive, we agreed that if anything would happen to us, Annie…oh God…" JR sniffed, shaking his head at the impossible miracle of all this newfound information. "And she named out daughter after Babe." He turned to the assistant. "Do you know what she looks like?"

"Blonde hair like the older sister, blue eyes like yours," he explained. If JR didn't know any better, he'd say his captor actually cared, but he could see through the lies—he just didn't want to end up like Dr. Kalibur.

"Who are you working for?" JR demanded, planting his palms on the bed and looking sternly at the assistant. "And why did they bring me here?"

The assistant bit his lip, almost afraid to answer.

"I should probably get home soon," Annie confessed as she and Scott walked through the cold. She shivered a bit, pulling her coat tighter around her and crossing her arms over her chest. Scott put his arm around her shoulders, but she shrugged him off without thinking.

"Sorry," he apologized. Annie looked at him for a moment, feeling a bit bad.

"No, I'm sorry—just jittery is all…restless, I guess," Annie explained falsely. She looked behind her, then back at Scott. "How far is the walk?"

"We're almost there," Scott assured her, pointing to a neon sign that served as a logo for the Pine Cone Motel.

"You're staying here?" Annie asked curiously, finding it odd that a Chandler would have to stay someplace so cheap. Scott nodded. Annie wondered if she should offer him some money or something.

It wasn't long before they reached Scott's room and he opened the door. He opened it for Annie and invited her in. She sat on the bed for a moment, letting her head drop into her hands. She didn't notice, but Scott walked over and made sure the door was locked from the inside.

"You were right," she confessed. "Getting away for a second will probably be good. Just talking…" She looked up at Scott. "You're a good friend."

"Ouch," Scott said, sitting on the bed beside her and leaning over to kiss her. Annie recoiled.

"Scott…" she sighed, looking down. "I…I'm sorry, but last night…the kiss…it shouldn't have happened. I took advantage of you. I was upset and you were there…it just…it shouldn't have happened. I just want us to be friends."

Scott grinned at her, and at first she thought he was willingly accepting it. She smiled back.

"You want to know something?" Scott whispered softly.

"What?" questioned Annie. She was surprisingly curious.

Suddenly, Scott grabbed her arms and pinned her to the bed, pressing his body against hers.

"I am sick and tired of hearing you say that!"
