Kapitel 21

When Takeru woke up the first thing he saw was Chiaki's smile. He sat up. Chiaki had no reason to be so happy. If Dan were drugged and someone had asked a question he must have answered it, in other words, he must have pointed out one of them because he was unable to lie. Had he dreamed it all?

The first thing he thought when he sat up was that it must have been a dream, but he was still on the boat along with the others. What was it that wasn't true then? There was only one thing left to do, he must ask that question that he was so afraid of.

"What happened? Who did Dan point out? "He asked Chiaki and he was surprised about how weak his own voice sounded. Then Chiaki actually laughed, and he could even hear Kotoha and Boi laugh. Chiaki smiled at him again and said.

"What happened is that their truth drug worked a little better than they expected," That answer didn't make Takeru feel much better, he began to feel ill. What did Chiaki mean the truth drug had worked better than they expected?

"Who did he pointed out?" Takeru repeated his question, prepared for everything.

"Geki!"

Takeru stared at Chiaki without saying anything. He could hardly believe what Chiaki said, nor what it meant, it was too much to take in after all other trauma he had went through. Chiaki just smiled broader when he realized this.

"We are all free from suspicion. Everybody! They can't point out anyone because Dan have done that through the poison and he pointed out someone that is not even on the boat. They think we all, including you are trying to protect Geki!" During the time it took for Chiaki to explain it Takeru had gathered enough courage to ask the next question, the only question that could still pose a problem.

"And how did you explain that I fainted?" Then Chiaki laugh even more.

"Kotoha reminded them that it is about 21 hours since we got anything to eat," he replied simply "They believed it without question."

Takeru had barely breathed out before everyone in the room was thrown away along the floor when something happened to the boat. They were stopped by their chains, that is, all except from Boi, the jailers had forgotten to chain him when they arrived with that truth drug. When it calmed down again something was obviously wrong. They could hear that all the prison guards fled outside it, almost in a panic, to find out the error. The situation was quite different than it had been just a moment ago. They were alone. And Boi was free.

Boi ran out, looked around for a while and found a tool box. He picked out a blowtorch, a hammer and a knife, which he could use as a weapon if he needed it and then he ran back to the others, where he locked the door so that he could work in peace.

Down where the others sat the outside pressure had risen and printed out some nails, because of that the water gushed in.

The raped woman, who wasn't handcuffed as the others tried to open the door and get out, but it was of course not possible. But Genta had an idea.

"Hey! Give me one of those nails! "The woman looked at him desperately. She did not like to be naked in front of two men and she tried to cover as much as possible, Genta could very well understand this, but right now they had to try to get out of here. "I can close my eyes when you do it!" He shouted as he realized that she felt humiliated "JUST GIVE ME A NAIL!"

If there was fear, a sudden burst of her last courage or that she simply trusted Genta who she had never met before, she didn't even know herself but she went over to the wall and got a Nail for him.

"What are you going to do with it?" Ryuunosuke whispered while they waited.

"You'll see," Genta answered with a smile. When he got the nail he quickly unlocked his own chains in no time, Ryuunosuke, Mako and even the other woman watched him with really impressed faces.

"Where did you learn that?" Ryuunosuke almost screamed and then continued to stare at Genta's fingers while he freed Mako. Genta smiled shrewdly at him.

"Me and Take-chan used to do that when we were little and wanted cookies, Jii liked to lock them you see" he explained with a smile and quickly freed Ryuunosuke's chains too, and then he opened the door at the same way.

Mako ran up to the door outside the cells and put her ear to it. It sounded strange, she couldn't even describe the sound. It was actually more of a feeling than a sound. She went back to the others. Ryuunosuke had lent his jacket to the raped woman who had no unbroken clothing left, and Genta was gone.

"He said he would release some more people!" Ryuunosuke explained. "This is Mieko anyway." He continued, and presented the other.

"I do not think it's a good idea to open the door anyway," Mako said and sat down on the floor.

"Why not?"

"Don't know, just a weird feeling."

The strange feeling anyway made Ryuunosuke and Mieko to walk over to the door to check. Ryuunosuke placed his cheek to the door and then he pulled back, his eyes were wide open.

"Water! We are sinking! "

When Boi had freed the other, they had all run away to the door to listen. They heard the panic further away but still thought it was worth it to unlock the door to run and hide somewhere else.

Dan and Takeru pressed their ears to the door and listened while Boi, Chiaki and Kotoha tried to find something they could use as a weapon if needed.

"It seems to be a panic out there," Dan said, taking the ear away from the door, Takeru just nodded, he had too much to think about right now, for example, if it is at all a good idea to open the door when they are now relatively safe in there - on the other hand they didn't know what had happened, there were no windows, and he had a strong feeling that the room was now under water.

Kotoha moved to Dan who would come to unlock the door, then they heard a sloshing sound under their feet. Everyone looked down. The floor was full of water. They looked at each other, they knew very well what was happening. Dan unlocked the door and opened it.

The water gushed in but it was still not so deep that it reached them up to their knees, but there was a current, and the door couldn't be closed again. When Chiaki slipped and fell everyone was dragged down with him and then the current took them away over to the wall.

Then everybody stood up and ran towards the door, it was quite obvious that they had to get out now. There was even stronger currents outside the door, but they managed to stay standing for a while, but then suddenly came a tidal wave, which must mean that someone somewhere had opened the wrong door. They all washed away down some stairs and then some other. Finally they fell down a hole in the floor.

Kotoha thought that now they would be killed when they met the floor down there. But it didn't happen, instead they ended up in the cold and deep water, Kotoha got a short drink but managed to get up to the surface - were her head hit something, there was barely room for her nose and mouth up there. "Then I drown instead" was all Kotoha had strenght to think, it was even too dark for her to be able to see the space. She could only lie there and feel how the water continued to gush.
